Just started watching and I have to buy Hodgepodge after your story of what you did to create this….. I’d never heard of so many things in papercrafts (junk journals still have me a little confused but I’m so mesmerized by them! I’ll probably try to make one someday… I had no idea there were personal die cutting machines. etc for cards but since I retired it’s given me such excitement with the new releases and especially the ways people use the stamps and dies…. I always buy the florals you design but I’m deciding to start investing in stamps to create something….maybe a journal…possibly a home decor….who knows…. Thank you for sharing your designs and all the creativity that different ways others have when they take the designs to a new level…. You, Mario and so many, many others have given me so much joy and inspiration which truly makes me so excited to try all the new techniques and use their ideas to create something in my little corner… No matter what is going on in life I can go into my craft room and my spirit is lifted JUST by looking at the products designed by you and others….. I’m just so blessed that a RUclips video popped up one day showing someone watercoloring a stamped image for a card…. I’m still enjoying every minute going down this rabbit hole ❤and have loved the kind and generous spirit that seems to be so prevalent in the community that create… Keep up the great work!! Know there’s a little old lady whose had so much joy because of your ideas, sharing the lovely things people have made and the companies that are taking the ideas and making them into something I can use…. Oh, yes! I’m blessed beyond anything I could have imagined at this season in my life ❤
Deconstructed: Proportion wheels were how newspapers and other printers quickly resized photos before computer layout. You input the size of your photo and the size you wanted it reduced to and it gave you the percentage you needed to reduce it to. I love that it’s on here with the typewriter letters. It’s old-school printing at its best. You just needed a pica pole and a craft knife image to make it complete! 😂 I can’t wait to make cards for my older journalist friends with these! Many have had to quit the business and none of us use manual layout anymore as newspapers started going directly to film in the late 1990s. Nostalgia for the old tools often comes up.
Honestly, it’s so revealing to see the makers come up with designs. Initially, I thought.. I would like one or two of the stamps. After the video, I want them all. I wanna um all. :P

I love them all! The thing you say about the live is so true. I can look at a stamp and think i have no idea. And then i see the makes and it changes your focus so much. Especially when i see things done with rainbow. Not only are you an incredible designer but more importantly you a beautiful, kind hearted human beings that im sure inspires others to spread kind like it should be x

Thank you Tim, Mario, & makers! Fun & fabulous! Thanks Tim for all your years of teaching "the how" for the days when we need step by step directions. And also for your continuous advocating of setting "the directions" aside to experiment on our own. I have to admit that I'm mostly a "follow the directions" personality type, but I've learned over time that it's very liberating to just try things out & see what happens. It sort of goes against my nature, but no matter what happens I remind myself that it's just ink & paper, so what's the worst that can happen? I recently found a whole container of distress inked pocket folios that I made over 15 years ago that I set aside, because they "didn't match" the idea I was going for at the time. Who knows, it might take me another 15 years to figure out what to use them for, but you can darn well bet I'm keeping them, because it was one of the first times I allowed myself the freedom to just give it a go with some Distress Ink, a spray bottle, paper, & an iron. And I remember sitting at a craft weekend retreat with my tabletop ironing pad & iron, while all the other attendees were astounded? curious? horrified? that I was spraying water on inked paper & ironing it dry. What a rebel! 💜
Tim I would say you are an artist,as it can take many forms,and you definitely have a gifted creative vision too,the 'hodgepodge' background stamp is an inspired idea that only you could have thought of.I love that you think ahead too,knowing that collage paper was being retired,so creating a stamp set from the images of that paper this enabling crafters to create their own collage paper,you have that creative thinking. I love all the stamps in this release especially the 'deconstructed' set and can see the potential for me in mixed media art. Maybe you could call yourself a "craftist" (Matt) P.s hope you and Mario have a great weekend
