I was lucky enough to see them live at the Poplar Creek Music Theater in Illinois, July 7th 1989. Outside concert oh man that was a concert etched in my brain forever. I'm 59 by the way. :)

That was one of my favorite songs (along with Battery by Metallica) for like 5 to 10 years when I was a teenager to early 20s. Today I still can't get sick of it. It's a masterpiece in my book

Most folks would hear the latter and think it's devil music. lol And if you see the lyrics, it's all about the Bible. :) The lead singer, James Hetfield, was raised in a deeply religious home.
I bought this in November of 1986 just before turning 15. I had their other releases on cassette and vinyl, so it was inevitable that I grabbed this one. I had to work to make under the table money such as cutting people's grass, etc. just to keep up with my metal addiction. Anyway, I ended up buying no less than 6 Master of Puppets cassette tapes because I wire them out through the years. That's how much I listened to it. This is an extraordinary album for so many reasons on so many levels. And best of all, none of Metallica's lyrics are satanic. Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked it.

Tragically, this was the last album with their bassist Cliff Burton. Their tour bus flipped over, crushing and killing him. After that I've discovered lots I didn't like and some I did like. Same goes with Megadeth not a big fan of their new stuff compared to the older I grew up with..... again it's only my opinion and not speaking for everyone else so don't be a troll.... respect ✌🤘😎🤘

*Be sure to pull up the lyrics with each one. Metal is a form of lyrical art that is best appreciated when you analyze and understand the meaning of each song. IMO it’s best to start with studio versions, as some live versions are messed with by the bands and if you aren’t familiar with the song or it’s meaning, it can loose some of its ability to convey its true meaning/definition of the song when it’s done more casually in a live setting.
