I grew my locs for 4 years. They grew past the middle of bra. I’ve been on a spiritual journey and was no longer connected to them. It’s been 6 months and I’m ready to begin my new set as well! I’m a Loctician and you’re one of my favorite vloggers. I’m happy for your new journey
I am doing the same. I cut off my locs after 5 years because I needed a change and wanted smaller ones. This time I am having a person do them and I will have a proper grid and someone to maintain them while I work on other things this year.
Thank you so much for this video... I’ve been searching high and low for this content because I’d love to diy my own starter but I wasn’t sure exactly how I was going to accomplish the look I’m going for. Thank you queen for your contribution to the culture 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love watching you start your loc journey bc most people already have five inches of growth. I too started my diy loc journey with less than two inches of growth. Thank you for this video.
I’ve done my own hair in the past, but have not been consistent because of time constraints. This is the FIRST self-twist (not re-twist) video I’ve seen where a person has used the methods I’d prefer. This has inspired me to put in the work to get my desired look. My hair is so coarse, and parting it in sections would really help me. Thanks for the tutorial. I’m so appreciative 🙏🙏🙏
Good for you! Locs are such a commitment, you should have them how you want! I’m currently on my second set. The first time I just went to the first person I consulted with and they somehow got me to believe that my hair was too long do comb coils, so they started me with two strand twist. Which I ended up not liking for me because my hair is very thick and the locs were way bigger than I wanted. But my second set was done with comb coils and that gave me a lot more uniform and smoother locs. I think it’s just such a personal preference! But anyway, thanks for sharing, you’re beautiful as always!
😍😍😍 I'm starting locs in two weeks and the loctician recommended small locs like yours. I was worried I wouldn't know how to take care of them, but now I'm just gonna watch you. 🤗 Your hair is beautiful!
I'm excited, glad your back in the game......I did the same thing with my hair. My hair is soft and I have ramden parts which are all the same size. I just grabbed sections and I'm very pleased with my loc size.
@@paige_judah5538 my hair was damp and I put olive hair oil in it. I section my hair with my fingers and did two strand twist and left it alone. I went back in 4th with parting but since my hair is soft I just did the ramden section. I'm about to be 4 months in. So far I'm satisfied.
I was once loc for several years then I cut my hair totally off. I felt I couldn’t get them clean because of how I started then with a bunch guck! Now I have re-loc my hair, it’s been 4 month now. I’m loving this journey because I’ve learned that I didn’t need to put too many products in my hair. Now I’m only using natural oils. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’ll be watching!!! 😊
Welcome back to that loc'd life queen! I started my set on the 6th of this month and I'm hoping to cultivate a healthy set all on my own. You're a master at parting. 💖🌸
I just cut mine off after 10. I restarted them this month, first time doing it myself. I'm excited to start again but with a way more minimalist method. If you think you want the change then just go for it. I thought I would miss my long hair but I've enjoyed it being short again.
The way you started your locs was so thoughtful. I really wish I could find a stylist who took as much time and care to assess my texture and density for a healthy set of locs.
Like this! Tomorrow is my appointment for going back to my dreadlocks. Twenty years ago, I had beautiful dreadlocks. Lately, I've missed them. But, tomorrow is the day. And, I'm ready & so excited to getting my dreads BACK! 💯😊👑❤ Great tutorial. Blessings.
I chopped off my locs after 20 months, because I didn’t like how they were turning out. I saved my locs in case I missed them, but no. I’m starting a new set soon. I look forward to seeing how your new set of locs flourish!
Now that’s what I’m talking about😳! The first video that I’ve found with someone actually doing their own hair, perfect👌🏽. Now I know exactly how to start mine once the time comes. This will be my second set in over 11 years. I went to the shop during that time. Now I want to try doing it myself. I believe it will mean a whole lot more to me. Mainly because I’ll literally be putting in the work. Thank you SO much for sharing. My hair right now is almost 2 inches🙌🏽.
I am soooooo sooooo glad to see YOU back in the loc game personally. It was truly a loss to see you cut your locs. I know sometimes it is good to get a break and also to be able to get the locs that YOU want. Good luck and congrats on your new set love. I cannot wait to see how your journey unfolds. I am so excited! 😍👏🏾
❤️ This... I have been low key considering restarting my locs. I like the way you did it with mindful intent. I'd probably start mine in a similar way where I give my hair a break and then get back into it. But I'm considering freeforming. My hair coils naturally and every time I wash my daughter's hair I admire how nice her curl pattern is as we have the same grade of hair. But good job sis. I'm interested to see where your new journey takes you.
Welcome back my beautiful i use a hang a glass in my bathroom infrom of my mirrow so i could see the back of my head. Because i had medium locks before now i have small locks. Good job.
I'm starting locs and I'm glad I found your video! Your video is the only one I've seen that has a strategic plan. I really like how you parted your hair for future styles. I'm definitely taking a lot of notes. Thanks 😊
I love 😍your new locs Dxlyn and the fact that you went smaller this time makes this journey even more exciting.👍 I can't wait hang out with you on this journey. Thanks for sharing with us. Love 💗 you. 😊

Got somebody to do the big parts and put my own locs in 💪🏿 this was my third time in three months the keep washing out. Thank god they did cause now they how I really wanted them. Took my time this go round. I was only getting 50-60 locs at first but I got the hundred plus I wanted. They look good asf. Thanks for the video I was able to approach this a much better way and get an idea of how much hair should be in one loc. great start to my second set of locs. Started and maintained by me 👌🏿
Once again!! You make this look sooo easy lol. I will def be watching your new loc journey! I knew you were gone start a new set. Thaaank u! Give me something to watch
I’m so excited to see you start your new loc journey. I recently tried instant locs with my own hair but quickly decided it wasn’t for me. So I big chopped again. I’m planning to reloc the end of March and I’m so glad to be mentored by you😘😘😘😘
My stylist has really been missing me with her schedule lately and I've been dreading finding someone else or doing my own re-twist, but this is motivating me to just go on do it bc it looks like Christmas will be here before she comes through.
