The roots do not need to be crocheted. Focus on the ends and the roots will begin the budding process on their own. I hope this helps. Thank you

    Soooo- I had a consultation with the lady where I live. My hair is 12 inches long and by the time she got done with the lock, it was less than 3 inches so I decided that that sample was all I needed. is that normal? I see length when you do it, but not so much at my consultation.

    • @houstonlocfairy
      @houstonlocfairy  2 часа назад

      Hi. Thank you for your question. This is very hard for me to advise on without seeing your hair but generally speaking, crocheting shouldn’t take that much length off your hair but it depends on the density of your hair. Let your Loctician know your concerns immediately so she can help and explain

    I used the crochet tool, and didn't like it, because you can tell they are not natural, because they have small holes, that look different than puffy natural locs.
    So I restarted the ones I did, and just me personally I like the natural look.
    But, most stylist use it to fix thin locs.
    Also, your right you can get really stuck by that neddle, you have to be careful. ❤

    • @houstonlocfairy
      @houstonlocfairy  9 месяцев назад

      It could be a couple hundred dollars depending on where you go. There are factors that need to be considered even though you say Mohawk, it could still be just as much as a full head based on what size you want them to be and the technique you prefer. For instant locs, I charge hourly so it can range from anywhere between $500-$1000. A consultation is highly recommended so that you can discuss this with your Loctician prior to booking the service and they should be able to give you options and payment plans. I offer AfterPay for my clients so that helps a lot.

    🔥🔥 thanks this the length of my mom and brother instant locs i did it the same way except i didnt pull the hairs out unless i was and didnt notice but i also wanted to retwist the roots with loc gel but instead i crocheted their roots too. Its easy both ways but i like the loc gel look better gives it more clean smooth look and the crocheting the roots gives a original dread head look. But thanks i need this video and i subscribed 🌹🌹

    I am interested in starting my loc journey. My question is if I decide at any point that I do not want to continue to have my hair locked with the instant loc method can these be taken out without cutting my actual hair?

    • @houstonlocfairy
      @houstonlocfairy  Год назад

      Hi! Great question. Thank you for watching. Loc extensions that are done by using the crochet method are permanent. Instant locs are permanent. Some stylists do temporary locs , but those are done using a different method and can be removed. Instant locs can be combed out or cut only.
