- Situated on the east coast of England, Suffolk is a county that I haven't explored much of! Not for lack of wanting to, it's such a stunning part of the country with so much to offer, but being based in Derbyshire it takes us about three hours of driving to get there. So when I got invited there for work to photograph the gorgeous Farmstead Lodges I couldn't resist taking you all along to show you around this lovely corner of the UK. In this episode we'll visit the charming town of Framlingham and its castle and the coastal towns of Southwold and Thorpeness.
N.B. As I was staying at the lodge to photograph it for work, I didn't pay for the accommodation, it was kindly gifted by the owners

21.24 I have only just found your amazing vlogs and have started from the beginning and am absolutely hooked, your presentation and content is wonderful, I was born in Suffolk many years ago and my sister lives in Derbyshire so know both places very well and love seeing them again as I have not lived in England since 2002, I lived in a Gorgeous Mill house in France for 13 years and now live in beautiful Ireland to be near my daughter, so looking forward to many more of your peaceful and relaxing vlogs.
My main reason for loving Framlingham is because the amazing series The Detectorists was filmed here and if you haven't seen it you are really missing out. King Henry VIII illegitimate son is also in that church. ..Henry Fitzroy
My parents and I have been to both, Framlingham Castle and Orford Castle.
At both the castles in glass cases for museum show were Wooden Batons. Constables Batons.

All very nice but the Americanisms used seem odd for a video about quintessentially English places.
Haha that’s because I grew up in Saudi Arabia where I spent 15 years going to American International schools before moving over to the British international school.. I have a lot of Americanisms 😂 which without knowing my history wouldn’t make any sense but I hope that sheds some light ❤️
@@theslowtravelsfamily I thought there must be a reason but you’re accent is very English even pronouncing your “g” like a midlander. I assumed though it was for your USA audience you used their “English”.
My accent has become much more English over the years 😊 as for the terminology and wording I use, there will always remain a lot of Americanisms I’m afraid, but at least now you understand why that is ☺️
