MK4 Mondeo tdci nightmare low fuel pressure problems

My mondeo and it’s non start issues

Bypass the fuel filter for a start. Check the fuel pressure with a manual gauge, if you have the same pressure as the scanner there is only 3 things left bad pomp, bad fuel regulator or the pom is not spinning. If you have higher reading with the gauge than the scanner the fuel pressure sensor is faulty. Good luck

in my mondeo 2.0tdci tip of camshaft which mowes high pressure diesel pump had broke down.you can see it from the hole where that pump connects the motor.

you have codes for faulty fuel pressure sensor, have you tried changing this?, if sensor reads incorrectly ecu wont feed pump and injectors

When you showed the fuel pump it should have another bit which goes between the cam drive & pump

I've exactly same issue on 07 1.8 Duratorq. Have transparent pipe feeding pump. Very little suction of fuel and small spit like bubbles coming back from pump with car running in limp mode up to 2,000 revs. Dribble out of pump outlet. When rev car to try get revs up, Odd time it seems to clear blockage or something and car will rev out and be fine. Full pressure out of pump and good normal suction into pump. Back to limp mode when turn off and back on. Did injectors, filter housing, unit in tank. What sensors control pump?

How did you get on with this? Did you remember to fit the gear on the fuel pump? And did you bleed the system back up, that alone is a pain in the arse

These mk4 mondao’s if the fule has failed check the cam shaft as well as the lugs on end the drive the pump sometimes snaps off mine has don the same no fule getting to high pressure pump

did you get to the fueling problem with the mondeo ive got the same problem with a galaxy same engine

@@9310151 yeah i put a bleeding thing on the fule line going in as i found out that my lift pump one way valve in pump had gone as fule would run back to tank only way i could start it was with easy start that was before i found out the pump problem

@@9310151 hi i think it was the pump that the camshaft operate it’s on right side of engine you will see a clear pip coming off it.have you tried easy start down the air intake once i done that before i fixed it it would run ok until i turned car off and left it for a while then go to start it but it refused to start so i carried a ton off easy start with me

Are you getting pulses on injectors and power to fuel pump regulator if not could be electric issue

Change the sensor on the fuel rail I had same problem fixed part of the problem

The lift pump is part of the high pressure pump
