Nice to see you giving Wolfmother some love, Justin! I'd recommend "Dimension", "White Unicorn" and "New Moon Rising" as well - the first two are from the same album as this song, the latter is in their sophomore release, "Cosmic Egg".
Love this band and this album. Reminds me of high school, getting stoned and playing this on Rock Band. "White Unicorn" is my favorite song from them but this is a close second. This is also played in The Hangover when Zack Galifanakis plays blackjack.
I like this band. Their sound may be rather derivative of classic 70s hard-rock, but they nailed the sound in an inspired way (at least on their first two albums).
Play the song “Apple Tree” for someone who likes the White Stripes, but never heard Wolfmother before. They will be so confused! Idk for sure, but I would not be surprised at all if Jack White had something to do with that song, in some way. The music, melody, and lyrics all have that style. Wolfmother is fairly new to me but I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!! 🖤
It’s okay. I’ve heard so much classic rock that I’m just not enthused by it anymore. The vocalist reminded of somebody. I was thinking Nothing But Thieves. I asked my son who he thought and he said “That’s Wolfmother”. Maybe I’ve heard it before in passing.
When i discovered this for me, i asked my father if he knew them, because he literally knows basically every fact about every bandmember from almost every band from like 1960 to 1980, because i thought it had to be something from the late 70s/early 80s or something like that😅
The nodding head dashboard dog nodded. Must've enjoyed this, then. OK hang, on that's me. Nice Heep Purple keyboard sound to go with it. For a moment I was thinking it was going to be Wolf Alice (a band some people seem to have quite a lot of hate for, but I don't). Whatever. If the head nods, you moved, so it moved you.
Wolfmother are a good rock throw back. But personally, a more interesting Aussie prog rock band to try is Karnivool - try New Day from the album Sound Awake (beautiful cover).
Andrew Stockdale is a wild, weird, wolfy dude. Caught him a few years back at Toads, just a drummer, and him, but the two of them were plenty! Very animated performer. Good to see you mix in some new, now and then. AAAAA_OOOOOO, woof, woof. It's howling good!🐺😁✌&❤
Writing a hit is actually very difficult, and we are what is happening now in modern music, there are many bands and songs, but few hits. This song is good, I'll take an interest in this band to get to know it better, I don't have a final opinion, it was not bad but not perfect.
I love this band, and I have that image (The Sea Priestess by Frank Frazetta) on a t-shirt somewhere. This album was a breath of fresh air in 2005, harking back as it did to the 70s peak of heavy rock in an era dominated by the bloated corpses of nu metal and hardcore. And the revival continues to this day, thankfully. 🙃
I've heard Wolfmother before but it didn't really strike me. In the 70s retro rock genre I prefer the Dutch band DeWolff but generally I prefer to stick to the original 70s bands.

Great music sounds great live band they own the stage in video games and movies
I hear a good deal of the White Stripes in this.
It’s both the vocal and guitar style, very Jack White.
Yes, that's exactly what it reminded me of, too.

Wow thanks for that, I’m listening to Karnivool now, added to my playlists! 🩵
@drecrego8632 it's the same lead singer as Birds of Tokyo. If Karnivool tour again they are worth checking out, awesome live.
I always enjoyed this song and Woman from these guys.
I like the reading of the lyrics, nice touch!
Ty Wes!
