Keep the plastics and put a charge port in the fuel cap 😊
Agreed.
Agreed
Agreed
Yup, this.
just what i was thinking
Shroud and full plastics are definitely much better
Full plastic set most definitely. Looks professionally done with everything on it.
Your the guy they needed for all the building shows that died out because they all became ads only no builds ❤your are tv (RUclips) gold 🎉🎉🎉
Jesus. Try to keep your shorts on pal
Definitely looks better WITH the tank and shroud.
Yep, definitely needs the tank and plastic goodies. If you can find some similar colored plastic to extend the front bottom of the tank, it would probably look even better. Plus that expanse of sheet metal on the back of the battery cover would probably be ideal to mount the controller and keep your power leads fairly short! This is turning out really nice Chris! Electro-Suzi lives!😂👍👍
I like it with the plastic !!!!
Sleeper electric ⚡
With the shroud looks alot better to me
I like both looks, but the plastics concealing the electronics speaks volumes about the build quality. And that’s a good look.
Would have been great to integrate the battery box into the design of the frame. Make it a structural piece, and functional.
Yup
Your knees will want those shrouds on trust me.
Def the shroud. Although your work is exemplary and should be displayed, the shock value of a stock looking machine will be much greater. This is an awesome, inspiring build.
I’ve never been a fan of all the chains on everything but this build has made me me me take a second look. You can build anything! Just because others have done the same thing doesn’t mean you can’t do it better. Keep up the work
I like it with the plastic And Gas tank
Watched a kid a few years back that built a functional mini tank. I feel like your rendition of that would be epic!
Shrouds and gas tank might help out with cooling forcing air around the battery box down to the motor
I like the plastics as it hides the battery box and closes up the big gaps.
I love what you have done. Mad respect. I wish my surron ultra had at least a low-hi gear. If only someone would make a planetary 2 speed to replace the jackshaft along with a solenoid shift. This would allow me to run a large rear sprocket for gear reduction and shift to a high gear when the motor runs out of RPM.
I’d do a bolt on piece across the top of the battery box connecting the upper frame rails right at the upper bend and a set of tubes coming directly from the rear shock upper mount to as high on the new frame rails as practicable.
Tank an shrouds is definitely better looking. But batter alone looks presentable
Keep the tank and the plastics
Full plastics looks good and if it’s leaking oil it’s just letting you know it still has some
Yes this project is back! I can't wait to see this thing rip
I really love your channel and admire your garage! I took some welding classes and have been making custom frames just like you! I would love to for you to make a video on your shop, tools n hardware you use/have and use regularly for welding. where you store your bare metals. And possibly hacks that make custom fab work easier. Thanks again and great channel!!
Dang that thing weighs a ton, I want to see a rider ride this cool as hell..
Keep in mind, your using a 2 stroke transmission which is a very close ratio because 2 strokes don't have torque. You would have been better off using wide ratio transmission. The electric motor had all the torque. You could use the wider ratio and use more of the gears.
With or w/o gas tank look great. If you go w/o gas tank paint the battery box and it would look great!
Personally i do without plastic. Could paint it black or try to match the other colors.and for the frame Yes thats strong enough. Good job so far
Supermoto path would look really cool. You could use it more day to day.
You always got the dopest background music
I vote keep the tank and shrouds! Looks awesome. Also you might want to loosen the chain. It looks tight
Hello, big fan of your builds , I'm not sure of the terminology on electric bike motors , but on RC's I always go into the ESC programming and turn the "punch" level down to about 50% ( it acts like a soft start-up , ) it also makes it ( the RC ) way more controllable and puts way less stress on the drive train when you punch it , it's not as quick to respond , but I'll take that over replacing broken parts any day .
P.S.
If you mention this comment on air , my name is Scott not Joe .
I think it'd look better without any of the plastic at all, and just make custom sheet metal panels for it. But that's just me. Edit: And I'd definitely go without the diamond plate. Make the battery box with flat panels facing outward.
I liked the blooper reel you did at the end of your previous video. You should do those more!
It definitely looks better with the plastics on
I like the plastics on looks like a sleeper
For next possible project, could you build a kayak that has the back portion cut off and build a mount for an outboard motor make an electric outboard and put it on the back and test it has been one of my dreams to try this, it would mean the world
Looking good 👍 ludicrous mode coming up 😮☮️
Can't believe you cut the tank up. 😦
You're so good at metal fabrication, you could of made your own dummy tank, that could carry the plastics. 👍
Third times the charm. Loved the outcomes of the first two but they weren’t the original idea, this is. Glad to see the original idea come to fruition.
Thanks for filming again Chris. 😁👍🏼
The stealth effect is fantastic
Keep it stripped, it's your best looking bike, yet. Like the gears, too.
Thank you for all the hard work in making these excellent videos.
You should us all the plastic because you could put the charging spot where the gas cap goes and you could take the cap off you charge it instead of gas
I vote keep all the original plastics and tank so it looks like a real dirt bike
Rally interested what it felt like in low range on the kart.
Can't wait to see how it works with improved gearing.
The airbox would be a great spot for the controller 👌
MAN !!!! what a build i love it
Leave the tank you made it look so sick people will be amazed on your work
Could of used the airbox to hide the battery
Or have 2 smaller batteries, half in the airbox and the other under the tank
I like it with the plastics on, I have stealth bomber clone and I added CRF50 shrouds. it works well to have something plastic to squeeze your legs onto when hitting whoops.
Great work, can't wait to see this thing rip!!
I prefer with all the plastics on.
This is gonna be the most practical electric bike ever once you get the gearing just right. I vote keep the plastics. The charge port idea in the cap from @jacobthebluesman is a great one!
so glad I came across this channel
Get those 1/4 of circle chamfering bits to your handmill. Some of them have a bearing at the tip that you can lean on and just mill off the chamfer edge of sheet. Those are widely used to make alu products for more appealing and nicer to humans as the edge is smooth and round.
Ones with two flutes for wood work fine with alu.
See the video ”workpieces in the aluminium material do the chamfering”. There are others too, just search.
Best look is with the tank
I think keeping the plastics will make it more comfortable to ride.
11t:32t is how my RC's were always geared. Could be a sweet spot for electric motors 👀
thank for building this, its awesome i hope to this to my 1978 honda 250s when ever the motor goes.
I would definitely keep the plastics!!
Full plastic looks way better!
It defo looks better with the plastics bro keep them on
I think it would be neat if you could somehow open the bottom of the tank up and make it a battery cover.
I guess I should watch the video before I say anything.....
Keep the tank, your frame is very strong
Looks best with the plastics, little bit of a sleeper look. Epically once you figure out the gearing.
I like this rather be welding channel
Keep the tank and plastic on that looks better and you have done a amazing job with this bike amazing.
Full plastics definitely 👍🏽👍🏽
I personally like it with not all of the plastics
I like it with the tank and shroud
Awesomeness dripping awesomeness all over the place . Cool
Definitely looks better with the tank and plastics. electric sleeper starts better convos
Your killing it bud damn you are the tip of the spear keep up the good work
but i know your trying to keep the weight distribution as even as possible, this is by far my favorite project of yours
Keep the plastics. It’s cool when it looks like something and then isn’t. I would be geeking out on the trail if you pulled up on that and I had to do a double take.
With the tank and plastics for sure
Definitely with all of the plastics!
Will amaze lots of people
nah i like the tank on it with the shrouds
Remove the fill cap portion radius to top of seat ,so you have side plastics and you show the metal fab on top part
Love all the plastics, sleeper look.
All the plastics look the best in my opinion
Looks better with plastics and tank. Will surely want a 15 tooth front sprocket at least
Maybe it is an idea to make the battery box a quick access design. If you are at a track and run out of battery you can do a quick swap.
I like the look of both
I like it with the plastic
Find a round meter to fit in the gas tank neck for the battery level! Would be funny to open the gas cap to see the battery level. 🤣
Should be able to add a ramping curve to that esc. Should smooth it out. Awesome build bud.
I'd definitely test ride before changing sprockets, it might feel fast enough when your riding, especially given the torque of an electric motor.
I like both versions. An I would change them depending on what kind of riding I was doin. If I was doin more wet or muddy riding I would put the gas tank an gas tank flares plastics on because there goin to block a lil more stuff from flying up in ur face then without them.👍
Great content really look forward to each post - must be so much work to provide this so thank you - and I love that's its just garage engineering rather than flashy new workshop and new tools. Also I like it better without the plastics - keep the radiator plastics but make a custom shroud to replace the gas tank?
i love this project! your super talented brother
Definitely keep the shroud
If you decide to use the gas tank you should put the on/off switch under that gas cap! I think that would be kinda cool!!
That would be cool in a 4 wheeler too so cool 😁
4:15 this is crazy how much the chassis flexed when you cut the top bar… I hope you made some measurements
Your doing a beautiful job man. If I'm not mistaken I do believe batteries under a heavy load like that need cooling or they will explode. Especially while charging.
Use the tank spout to connect the charger to charge the battery
