- We were watching fireworks on the 4th of July when my friend noticed an orange glow and a column of smoke starting to form. I ran down to figure out where the fire was and call 911, while my wife filmed the first clip.
I was on hold with 911 for about a minute (first time that's happened, felt longer) and they let me know SFD was already on the way. After the call, I filmed the rest of the clips. By the time I got off the phone the flames had died down quite a bit.
The fire did nothing to slow down the number of fireworks going off in the neighborhood - thankfully nothing else was set ablaze as the booms continued well past midnight.
Clip listing:

Crazy! The same thing happened to my grandma a few years ago when someone flicked a cigarette butt into a tree on her property. The tree fire was so big that the firefighters could see it from their station on a hill and the initial dispatch was for a structure fire... very lucky she didn't lose her house
Actually the year before, a neighbor shot a firework into her bushes and started a brush fire with exposures
Yikes - sounds like your grandma has some bad luck (and some inconsiderate neighbors)!
1:59 The same kind of wait time happens in charlotte as well actually longer.
Yeah, looking back on it it's not surprising, especially for the 4th of July, but it was a first for me.
OOF what a crazy 4th SFD was Busy & good thing i stay home for the 4th and only went out once for a FIB
and Also that Brush fire Major in the 7th i Had was Fireworks
Yeah, there were a ton of brushfire calls - glad that you all stayed safe!
@@lucaslaughing indeed But next year for the 4th i'll be at the station
Glad it wasn’t worse as the potential was definitely there. Down in Thurston County where my family is that had multiple brush fires that was fireworks caused. Also waiting to hear if the big wildfire in Shelton was fireworks caused-so far they are just saying it was “human” caused.
Yeah, it's been so dry - was very glad it didn't spread more. Thanks for watching Jeff!
