Thank you so much. With this video I was able to repair the stiff hinge and return the laptop to full working order. Saved me a couple of hundred dollars. 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you very much for your video. One hinge on my laptop snapped off the plastic mounting and started to damage the display case. With your video and some JB Weld original cold weld epoxy, I reused the hinge, re-seated, and epoxied it in place. Over time, these hinges tighten, which leads to the damage. It took me a few adjustments to the hinge bolts to get the tension right (5.5mm wrench), but everything is repaired now. I adjusted the hinges with the case reassembled and the hinge covers off. I chose not to bond the bezel to the hinges, in case I need to remove it later (don't know why I would, but I want to keep my options open!).

What brand of adhesive do you recommend? I see you have a two-part epoxy, but will any two-part bond work? Are there any one-part compounds you would also recommend? I viewed another RUclipsr's video on this, and he used a one-part epoxy made for joining PVC piping. Unfortunately, this bond is only available in the United Kingdom, which is not where I reside.

Please don't put that epoxy adhesive on the front of the hinge (between front plastic border and the metal piece of the hing).
In the future if you try to open it the plastic won't detach from the metal due to the glue.

try check the power button area, maybe ribbon loose, check if battery is connected, some models if disconnect battery, need plug in power to power on again

I'm also having this issue today in my Dell laptop and its second time 😢
Loosen the hinge screw not the one used to mount the hinges to the screen or the body. They are i think 5mm but you can use a plier to do that. Just like half a turn on each side so that it opens easily hence less force on the place where the hinges attach to the plastic body. But don't loosen it more then 1 turn as it may cause the screen to close on its own weight..

I have the same laptop but when i am watch a movie or giving a presentation and try to move the laptop it just shuts off. Any reason why this may happen??
Try moving laptop lid to and fro by closing and opening the laptop check is there any flickering and let me know if that is happening
@@AmanKumar-fb9ugthe issue was related to RAM. the ram was not in the slot properly and hence when ever it moved a little it would loose contact to the slot. Eventually the ram died and i brought a new 8gb crucial one to replace it. The issue is gone now.
