@_peters6221 oh thanks
Tav's quips have become ingrained in my psyche; all day at work I say to myself shit like: "Maybe I need more pockets", "Hope it's not cursed", "Still breathing, despite everything". Tav is me, and I have become Tav

Had me crying laughing
I honestly thought that was a reference to the line of sight exploit by talking to an NPC and then sneaking past them with another character.
the face he makes was spot-on
Tav: "I'm a lawful good character and will always strive to do the right thing."
Minthara: "i'm a Drow companion that has big 'step on you' energy that's only unlocked through genocide."
Tav: "As I was saying, I'm a Chaotic Neutral character and-"
As long as Minthara never finds out where the druid grove is, you can skip the raid missions and get her. Though it does end up with Halsin dead
Minthara is pretty subby actually. Laezal however...

"These boots have seen everything."
I'm glad I'm not the only one that found the "is that blood? no...nevermind" completely out of nowhere. EVERY time Tav says it, it's either painfully obvious "Yes Tav, we're all standing in ankledeep blood, we just finished a fight against a group of blood covered gnolls" or it's "it's the cleanest area possible." You literally just got clean from a long rest, so what blood could you POSSIBLY be seeing here?!
My first play through was dark urge so it didn't bother me at all. Like yeah, of course he's thinking about blood all the time. I was kind of surprised when i made a non dark urge character and she was saying it constantly too.
I genuinely thought it was a result of some subconscious influence from investing in the use of my tadpole. That my Tav was just seeing glimpses of horrors that weren't really there. Interesting to hear it's just a line that can play anywhere for no reason. 😅
Fits when you're the dark urge.
@@ghostlandered well i'm not playing Dark Urge, so it's very out of place pretty much every time he says it. usually Tav's barks are contextual to what you are having him do. If you click on an item for him to pick up, he'll say something like "Wish I had a bag of holding" if you click on a chest/door, he'll say things like "No traps please" or "time to move on" etc. It makes sense. But unless I'm literally clicking on a surface covered in blood (which hey, is entirely possible given it IS a tracked fluid for a surface to have), it makes no sense why he'd say it to me. 😂 I just find it funny, because it's always so out of place. And the GM's expression is priceless for it.
If it bothers you that much, turn it off in the settings. Otherwise, quit bitching.
"Is that blood? no, nevermind" I was already chuckling from "all's well that ends... not as bad as it could have" but that one finished me off hahahahh

Funny you should say that, the last time I played DND, two years ago, my old group and I had found ourselves waking up on and subsequently taking over a Mindflayer Ship. The sheer coincidence of it managed to wring a few drops of precious and ever elusive dopamine out of my hypothalamus.
All jokes aside, they should really publish the adventure as an actual 5e module. Would be pretty cool, and you know... easier to find all the shit you missed the first three playthroughs by just reading it.

From what I've heard, murderhobos typically just attack, without trying anything else first.

"astarion and i could use a third. okay, fourth. how are you with bears?" has me ROLLING
I feel extremely vilified in my choice to play a Bard Tav now.
I did bard Dark Urge who's good to a fault but operated under the ethos: "Act first, think never." and its honestly been the most bard playthrough I could have ever imagined. Sometimes I'll make terrible choices and still somehow Jar Jar Binx my way into good outcomes. Like I surprised a paranoid group being hunted, they thought I was one of their hunters, and being a bard I got theatrical and was like "whooooooo, im going to ggett youuu!" and they actually took it seriously so innocents were now hostile and attacking. But then it just so happens the first person we target and down was a shape changing imposter so I instantly became their friend again when we sussed it out and ended up getting rewarded :D. His ability to fumble a situation so hard he succeeds is becoming legendary :D. I teamed up with an evil dood with "lesser evil" logic, accidentally uncovered some of his machinations while he was friendly and with guard down and foiled them causing me to fully turn on him saving people the narrative suggested would be difficult or nearly impossible to save :D.
@@Ralathar44 woah, did all that happen in act 3 or something? Can't say I have anything like that happen to me yet and I haven't gotten that far
@@Dunzification The polish dropped alot. Alot more being seen through walls, dialogue options vary in quality alot more, crashes, specifically a multiplayer t-pose crash is common, cut scenes are often slightly out of touch with what we are doing and have done, ive run into a few areas you literally can't stealth for no reason, some fights where playing the good guy and saving people is very poorly designed. Lots of near unavoidable damage (steel watch blow up on their next turn in a huge area after going under X hp) random fights trigger with no dialogue at all. Dialgue and fights triggering on the wrong person. Characters not making sense (you're literally beating the avatar of gods and then they are concerned/afraid of far lesser threats) doors/chests/etc that are stealing not marked in red, having steel watch accost each character individually after passing the check with the first...winding up with everyone in jail anyways, characters dying in ways they shouldn't or not allowing you to save them (started at end of act 2), key characters suiciding into masses of people (first one was Jahira jumping face first into death at end of act 2...like the tieflings can do in the siege in act 1 its suicidal and stupid lol), the merchant reputation system being worthless with so many merchants + so much gold required to move their rep now.guards "seeing crimes" and super speeding over from off screen, crimes being caught with nobody around, attackers having lootable bodies that count as stealing, etc. Its still a good game but definite quality drop compared to act 1 and most of act 2.
You forgot the part where some one says "we gotta move quickly!" And then Tav spends 20 minutes looting all the 50 bodies in the room.
As someone who's currently playing a drow bardlock, this is entirely in character. Except I'd probably have tried dropping a fog cloud over the area as well.
The old "deploy smoke and steal everything while heavily obscured" trick works every time in BG3...
(Subtle Spell: Fogcloud) Uhoh! Looks like the fire is picking up! We should all probably away from here with haste! (Then double back & investigation begins)
Yeah it's a bit silly that it works in stores. I threw a darkness spell in the armor store, looted the display cases and then sold it all to the merchant standing 10 meters away. BG 3 is so good I kinda expected him to recognize his own wares but he didn't.
