Andy, This is the second time I have responded to your channel. I love your builds and skills. As of the first of the year I came out of hibernation from a 30+ hiatus from model building and you have been a real asset to me. I love what the whole community is doing but I really like the how to's like you do. Final builds are nice but I like to see the techniques that go into the builds. The Scribbler looks awesome!!!! I love the purple on the engine, nice touch!! I saw a older video of yours and it appeared someone was busting your chops for buying a spray booth. I don't know the whole story and don't need to know but what a Jag Wad. Last time I checked we could to as we wish with the income we make. That was jealously! I could see that you were hurt or upset about it! Man I hope you didn't lose any sleep over that one! Anyway when I saw it I felt bad for you, no one deserves that! If you keep making them I'll keep watching them. Thanks for sharing Andy, James Rasmussen
James , Your Comments are very much appreciated ,, and keep people like me inspired ! .. I wasn't really sad about the booth comment , more confused.. I saved up for it by not buying models and supplies for a few months...lol. thank you for the great post !
Brother....I "Knew" you would love this! I can't say enough good things about it. As you said....."It's a game changer" as far as Acrylic Primers are concerned
If you shop at hobby stores there are many other colors like olive green (I used under a large swamp diorama water area and loved what it did), blue (I use beneath regular surface waters), I have seen light grey, red brown, and yellow as well.) Definitely should shop around and look for price differences. It will probably go even further now that I purchased a air brush. I easily used it with a brush. I love these primers in every way and for the cost is well worth the investment when it comes to my projects or dioramas.
Have you painted with Tamiya over this primer yet? Since Stynylrez is water based, I'm not sure if I can airbrush Tamiya XF paints or lacquer based paints over it.
I have not tried it myself but others have done so with no problems. It's "water clean up", polyurethane based."water based" is a misconception about most hobby acrylics.
Its great stuff, I thinned mine down a bit and sprayed it through my airbrush at 20 psi, and it did spray really well, and sanding back is the main concern for most modellers
Great video! Thank you for this review and for sharing all your knowledge to the community whether is painting, machining parts or just general modeling. You are a great mentor. Keep up the good work.
By far and away my favorite acrylic primer. I like the fact it self levels and that its dries hard! I have sat for hours with a little figure rubbing on it, just to see how much abuse it could take, and it has yet to rub off! Did the same with Vallejo and it started chipping and peeling after about 3 minutes. Granted I like Vallejo for certain things, but as far as my go to primer Stynylrez took that spot handily.
***** Do you bottle it? Under what brand? Is it available on line? Does it come in White, grey, and black? Does it smell? Does it leave a nice silky finish? Does it sand well? We want to know all about it!!!
Nooooooooooooooo... Bad, badgrendels! You know I get this message as well? 1, I was having my tea. 2, Mr Whiskey Mischief really doesn't need encouragement.
