You are an amazing gentleman. I love your channel. There isn't any other person as humble and express the love of shooting. You have inspired many of my family. God Bless
Bill I am humbled by your nice words. It's exciting to know you and your family are getting out and enjoying it.
I would say Ruger HAS resurrected Marlin COMPLETELY! I am so happy for them and Marlin! That is the exact model of 44 mag lever I am saving up to purchase myself! You Have Great Taste! Merica! 🤠 As always thanks for your service marine! Great video as usual!
The 1895 45-70 is the gun from Jurassic Park, wanted one ever since the movie. Finally decided to pull the trigger on one but ended up with this one. The 44 mag because well my local shop had one in stock.
Love your enthusiasm and happy spirit sir. Good review, keep them coming. God bless.
Thank you Joe -- It was hot out but that is some of the best fun in a while. Something about a leveraction then throw a suppressor on it OH MY.
@@Dayattherange I agree sir. I have a Marlin 444 that I inherited when my dad passed away many years ago. It is a great shooter and it works awesome as a deer hanging rifle. Though the deer it has dropped wouldn't agree. LOL
always enjoy your enthusiasm!! Just got one of my own!
I think I'm sold. Was considering S&W new lever but I've seen some not so favorable reviews on them
Jurassic Park!! I have the 1895 Marlin, with a Silver Scope, Just like the movie 😁
Serious Gunslinger? Now that is SWEET. Yes Jurassic park it is.
Ruger firing on all cylinders! These new Marlin rifles are top notch
@@aaronhill4765 totally agree
Sweet. You know the saying "I gots to get me one of those."
I like both of those.
JP what's up brother wow what a match. I am so serious that marlin is so refined not even the camera does it justice.
That looks beautiful 😀
I acquired one of the new Ruger made, blued/walnut 1894s in .357, all I can say is it s a fun, reliable and accurate lever action carbine. Its quality is right up there (maybe bette) with my JM marlins.
Snowy River with Mark Walberg. Another great Vid.
Jurassic Park -- Though I may have to try and watch this one.
you'll love it, great movie.
Are you thinking “Wind River” with Jeremy Renner…with an 1895 in 45.70 perhaps? If so, wrong on movie, actor, and rifle.
@@markhale8084 yes, thank you
Whew she is pretty, I am so glad that Ruger is doing the Marlin name right!!!!
You sound just like my senior DI I had SSGT Jackman lol. Same cadence and everything. And that Marlin is one pretty gun
Thank you for stopping by joseph. Maybe one day I will get brave enogh to sing some cadence and really give you that raspy voice remembrance -- You Understand Me LOL
Good to aee Marlin back in the game. They were a favorite of mine before Henry really took off. At this point I lean Henry but the more competition the better.
I just recently picked up a Henry Big Boy in 44 mag but I was so close to getting the Marlin you have in this video - I think both are great guns and a good value for the $ even though they are not inexpensive. I have held a couple of Rossi's in gun stores and one of the biggest problems I have is exactly what you mentioned with the trigger! It is unbelievably loose, not sure what the deal is with that but it feels terrible.
@@matterickson5993 let me know how you like the henry.
Thanks for the review, got one on the way!
@@iajtywu nice let me know how you like it
Nice! Thank you for the review.
Big man! Good to see you still at it!
Just (Re)subscribed. YT being sneaky with the phantom unsubs again. Trying to keep the good guys down.
Keep em coming
Love me a day at the range video!!
Man I really appreciate that, it means a lot. It was so hot out there that day.
Great presentation. I just "cloned" your setup. My setup:
Marlin 1894 SBL model 70432.
Scope: Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4x28 IER Scout Duplex with 6-inch eye relief; part no 175074.
Scope rings: Warne quick detach, low rings.
Front Sight: oem Ruger HiViz Lightwave.
Rear Sight/Rail: oem Ruger proprietary HiViz parts similar to the oem rail/sights used on Marlin SBL 1895.
Looking at the Ruger parts website, the front sight, rail and rear sight appear to be different proprietary Ruger models of the similar HiViz parts provided as oem on the Marlin 1985.
NICE
thanks a lot now i got to figure out how to talk my wife the shygirl into the idea of another rifle
The prices for all marlin rifles after they sold out to another gun company went through the roof
Well i hope they make a go of it and get the quality of the old marlins or maybe even better. Maybe some day they will remake a jam-up version of the 39a. I may try to start improving
my credit score now and start looking for a co-signer.
Need to bring back the model 60
Just put the classic 1894 in 357 mag in layaway. Can't wait to get her out. They are very expensive. The dinosaur rifle was a 45/70 though in the movie.
Yes sir it was a 45/70 "It LOOKS LIKE" 😉😉
The Movie 45/70 NOT 44 mag ! But I do want one . Also is you want to see a good Movie ✔️out Wind river
I always wanted a lever gun.
VERY Beautiful rifle!!,......And I agree Ruger is saving marlin. I have 2 marlins with the JM stamp.Love them! ONLY thing I disagree with ya is I will never suppress or Scope a lever rifle..Lever rifles are just that lever..I do not like the look of a scoped lever gun...Just my opinion and thats that, If you like it more power to ya brother...I just don't like it. Great video bud thanks for sharing!!! Love the 44 mag!
well I got mine to run a suppressor and likely a scope or red dot... maybe no optic but I am nut ruling it out-old eyes do better with optics and as far as a suppressor- the locked breach until ya work the action helps verses a semi auto.
@@pprudowe Well my eyes are old too! So i guess i should never say never!!! lol
what a couple beauties there!
What’s the eye relief on that Leupold?
Looks like the gun off Jurassic Park
Anthony you are spot on.
Only notable gun from JP is a SPAS12
You should have put the specials through the can, they are a lot quieter. The trigger on mine flops just like the S&W. I don’t believe it actually holds nine with a 16” barrel, I guess I gotta check mine now. My guess is six plus one,,,
8+1 I was 1 off of 44 mg. I did not run the specials thru the can because they were lead pills from the factory which makes cleaning the can dirtier. I just don't like doing it especially when it doesn't belong to you.
I've gotta 1997 jm 1894 CS .357/.38spc slicked and tuned 😎 It's the Dog's Danglies..
@@DayattherangeI loaded mine up, 8+1 it is. I can see that, I load my own specials with jacketed boolits,,,
Can you unload by pressing the side gate like the 1895 in 45-70?
Absolutely love the video, but for the money, S&W 1854 lever action got'em beat. 😂 to be honest just be a good American and get BOTH😂
Picked a ruger made one up on Friday didn't get to shoot it yet. The fit and finish is beautiful. But... on the non visible parts the tooling Mark's are atrocious ruger wtf bolt upper lever locking block look like a beaver chewed on them.
The gun does look like the Dino gun in JP, however, the round does NOT 😂 45-70 vs 44
Bad to the bone AGAIN LOOK LIKE the magic word.
How is the recoil vs 45-70?
Well...what should the threading be?
11/16-24
👍🏻👍🏻
😊
@Dayattherange I was talking to juancarlos guy lol your video is bad ass. All good 👍
@edmi8832 I knew you were my friend and so was I.
You are holding in your hands 1895 and not 1894
Please see ruclips.net/video/aGQ2kqwvXZs/видео.html it's an 1894 1895's are like Hens teeth around here.
1894 is 44 and 357 1895 is 45-70
Where did you find this?
I didn't it's my buddies setup. Said he walked into a local shop on veterans day had it 10% off so he jumped on it. He already had the scope but could not use it for anything as he didn't know it was the scope model with the shorter eye relief. But those two are made for each other.
Your squared away
If your hitting low why arent you aiming higher lol
If there is no JM on the barrel it's not a Marlin.
I am a big believer especially with firearms that aged/older often means better craftsmanship. I compared my JM to this Ruger model and I have machine marks circles etc in the top of the bolt on the JM. I am not sure what Ruger did to get the surfaces so clean but man they are slick. As much as it pains me to say the lever movement on he Ruger is much smoother. And just to think in 15 years I have shot my JM twice total of 63 rounds because I was sort of holding on to it thinking it would not get better. OH Well.
Way to expensive.
Ignore the retail price they are going for WAY LESS.
I live in a country with very strict laws and this would probably be restricted but I’d pay anything to own it
1200.. yes expensive. And even worse the internals look no better than a rossi as far as machine work
@@mikes8915 Not knocking Rossi at all but I specifically compared the two because I own the Rossi and there is a big difference.
@@Dayattherange lol I'm knocking rossi. Just a lil 😂 but the tooling Marks in my new marlin were bad! But I got one sample. I heard ruger cleaned it all up. Beautiful outside though almost flawless. I love it but for the price I didn't expect it to look like my rossi,s inside ya know
Great vidio Day Range very cool rifle.. To all Marlin Purests if it wasn't for Remington there would be no Marlin... Just like Harley Davidson. when AMF owned them ,they keep the brand alive.Yea they didn't make the finist product...but keep the brand alive...I think JOHN MARLIN would approve...And final production of Rem. 1895SBL were good quality . The Ruger are good quality also. And I am a MARLIN purerest and bought my first one at 13 years old in 1970 at K MART.😊😊😊😊
