  • Quick video on how to connect transmitter from this video • Bluetooth audio transm... to your TV (in this case 32" Bravia from 2010 :) )
    1. Jack-jack to headphone socket (TV will be silent on most models, you should be able to enable sound on your TV speakers and headphone jack in options). This will allow you to adjust volume from TV remote
    2. RCA-Jack in sound output (it will be available on older models, does not turn off sound from speakers). You can't adjust volume from TV - you have to do it on the bluetooth device
    3. TOSLINK (optical audio) to RCA/Jack converter (requires separate converter, often powered via USB). Volume same as with RCA-Jack.
    Theoretically you could use ARC (Audio Return Channel) HDMI connector and then use converter to extract the audio but this method is probably very expensive as it requires additional hardware. It's possible that your Hi-Fi is utilizing HDMI ARC and then can provide standard RCA connector on the back.
    All SCART (EURO) connectors have audio-out, but it's really hard to get "output" adapter these days, but if you want, you can always check the pin-out and make your own www.leadsdirect.co.uk/technic...

    Hey there, looking at comments here is a summary of everything you asked here:
    - This is a TV part of main video ruclips.net/video/Y3rzhBOgIFY/видео.html
    - I thought splitting the video will be helpful since transmitter comes with instructions
    - There is also a newer video with a transmitter-reciver combo ruclips.net/video/AwR3CACHZDI/видео.html
    - This device is USB powered and needs both USB and audio
    - It's a transmitter, so it means it will send audio over Bluetooth, you need a BT receiver!
    - Keep in mind the price when you think about quality - some of them are mono and transmit at low quality
    - Your receiver can be anything that supports A2DP profile, but you also have to be "lucky" in terms of compatibility. Some revisers have to be put into pairing mode, some don't. If your receiver has a pairing PIN you''re probably out of luck. Most cheap headphones and speakers work perfectly, top end ones (that probably have better Bluetooth security) have some issues. Sometimes it takes several tries to see if your specific device work - make sure you *turn off* BT on your other devices (phone, PC, tablets etc.) so it won't interfere and connect to it first!

      Those separate earbuds have their own communication protocol so it's really hard for me to say if it will work for you with the transmitter. The ones I tested connected to the transmitter with the first one I turned on and the other one paired to the first one, but didn't made a connection to the transmitter. Some of them do, so I can't say how yours are working.
      The line-out will work just fine, but make sure that the headphones you connect have their own volume control, because you won't be able to change it from the TV side.

      @Emerald Oberes >It’s been 10 months since you asked this question, but to help, I will say Yes. I am retired from repairing cars & looking into these and if your TV has a speaker jack or the large round ports called “RCA” jacks (Old School) but with the right cable you plug into the head jack, about the size of a “Q-Tip” with a headphone symbol next to it. The RCA jacks are marked “Audio Out” the white is the right side stereo and red is left. If backwards, no problem, just reverse. Either plug into what is basically a “Bluetooth” transmitter, like a radio is a receiver, the tower outside of town is transmitting the sound. Sorry if you have this knowledge already as this will be dry reading. Plugging into a TV or Radio headphone jack has an internal switch. It is stereo and has 3 contacts (I think) but this shuts off the built in speakers for quite listening. Say someone is near and fell asleep. Great. Otherwise choosing “Audio Out” will let the speakers play but you get to hear better if using headphones with builtin Bluetooth or earbuds like Raycon E25. I have lost some hearing from loud dealership shop for 38+ years. Who new? Hope this helps. Wish they would answer questions if they put a video out.
      Best luck if hearing loss because I can’t justify those tiny things price! I want to hear better, not buy a used Buick!

      You can use Chromecast (it has a lot of delay when casting the screen) or you can try getting USB-C to HDMI cable if your phone supports it (most new ones does, but it's better to check). Last option you have is trying something like github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy for a PC or Mac and that should work fine with all USB cables.

    How can I use a Bluetooth speaker and the tv speakers at the same time?

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  4 года назад +1

      I'm pretty sure that TVs with built in BT don't have this option, so if it does not allow this you will have to help yourself with transmitter similar to one from the video. Some TVs have option to play on speakers and headphones in the audio menu (I'm pretty sure all Sony TVs have this). Otherwise your only option is to get the analogue audio from other outputs (SCART to RCA, ACA AV out), but if your TV is a model from last 5 years it's possible that you only have HDMI with ARC (Audio Return Channel) that could output the signal to fairly expensive analogue converter or an optical out for HiFi's. Probably the cheapest converter would be the optical to audio (~15 USD) and then connect it to transmitter. You may need to do some additional configuration of the optical out to be stereo only as cheap converters won't work with 5.1 or other standards like this. All TVs I had with optical out had that enabled permanently regardless of speakers.

      @pandaengineering  3 года назад

      If you don't have headphone out, try to check if you have optical video out (that would require a converter ~$10) or one of your HDMI ports could have ARC (audio return channel), again a converter to analogue audio will be required.

      Most headphones and speakers work fine, but looking at questions I've got in the comments it seems that devices made by Apple and high end Sony may be tricky with this. I don't own anything like that to test, but it is important to make sure that no other devices around have bluetooth on when testing (otherwise it may auto connect to that device and not allow any other connections) and sometimes you have to put the headphones/speakers into pairing mode. Quality of sound isn't amazing, but it's good enough for movies.

      To be honest, I didn't test any name brands because I don't have anything like that. A lot of stuff like JBL is based on similar chips like no name brands, but they put a better digital to analogue converter. It worked with everything I have just fine and since transmitter costs $2 including shipping I think you can risk it and see for yourself :) I know that AirPods had some problems communicating with some devices and only worked perfectly with Macs and iPhones, but I didn't heard anything about the speaker.

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  3 года назад

      You can try connecting the transmitter to power *after* entering into pairing mode. Best thing I can suggest is trying it in different sequence. Some headphones don't need a pairing mode for some reason and they will connect even without it. If the headphones require a pairing code, I think transmitter don't support this. Make sure that your other devices are not trying to connect to the heaphones. I had a situation where transmiter coudnt connect because my phone hijacked the connection. For testing it's best to have bluetooth turned off on all other devices (PCs, phones, tablets etc.).

    • @pandaengineering

      I think you meant "any *transmitter* that has jack input". It's easy to get confused as they look very similar and often online sellers confuse them as well 🙂 Yes, transmiter should work with any BT receiver, but as you seen in the comments (this and main video about the adapter) there are some cases were it just won't connect - I didn't had the situation myself so it's hard to tell why. I know that some BT 1.1 required a specific pairing password and maybe this was the issue. Bluetooth version differences mostly mean protocol that would be used and if you connect 2.0 and 4.0, they should negotiate and settle on the lower version. For stereo audio only you probably won't notice a difference since BT 2.0. I hope it will work for you 😀

      Make sure it's RCA audio output. Most TVs have only RCA sound + composite video IN (sometimes component too for the same sound input jacks). If you have a PAL TV with SCART often the most common way to get line level sound from the TV is the first SCART port (that requires specific adapter to get the TV output - TV input adapters are far more common).
      Headphone out it's often the best idea, becouse it allows you to have an additional volume control.

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  7 месяцев назад

      You can try Amazon, Ebay, Aliexpress or any other online shop. Note that the cheapest transmitters from dropshipping companies will have worse quality (mono sound or no support for Bluetooth 5.0 headphones) so it's a good idea to read the reviews.

    DOES ONE GET A TRANSMITTER FED BY A HDMI SOCKET?

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  3 года назад

      You would have to use a HDMI ARC (audio return channel) socket if you have one. It's a digital signal and all cheap transmitters have analog input only. There are HDMI ARC audio extractors for $8-10 and then you'll get output for the transmitter, but you still would have to power both of those devices via USB.

      If you go with non-branded ones it's for ~$2 and for one that worked with my BT 5.0 headphones it was $6. Cheaper ones are often mono and quality could be doubious. For a branded ones(never had one) it's about $30-80, but they will give you a better sound quality.

I Can Only Turn On The Transmitter When Connected To The USB Power Source. But I Don't Have A 3.5mm Jack As Long As Yours To Reach The Transmitter At The The Power Source To The TV

      Transmitter has to be connected to USB power for it to work. You can find some with internal batteries but they usually last up to 4 hours at best (at least in my expirience).

The have a switch the changes it from “Receive” or “Transmit”. Some work way better than others, the diffence like me, I don’t have cable or satellite TV service. This way, you can use your phone if it has a headphone jack (Many Don’t Now) but you can use it that way. The phone has Bluetooth and connects to the device when paired, but connected to TV, switched on the box to receive. Hope this helps, if your TV is “Smart TV” and has Bluetooth, pair your phone to TV to send RUclips’s videos to TV to watch. I use Over-the-Air-digital on both TV’s and have 38 channels using a powered antenna. So various options!

      Bluetooth is far to slow for that. I recommend using chromecast - it's fairly cheap for what it can do and compatible with phones and PCs. If you mean transferring analogue audio, there are some transmitter-receivers sold for cars for about 8-20USD, but I never used one, so I'm not sure how well they work.

      Have you tried different receiver? It seems that sometimes this transmitter requires receiver to be in pairing mode and sometimes it will connect regardless of modes. For my very old BT headphones (I think BT 2.0) it didn't connect at all because they required entering a passcode.

      Maybe your transmitter is faulty if it doesn't connect.
      About the smart TV - sorry I don't have any expirience with newer TVs, but if it has Android and OTG USB port, you may be able to get sound via external USB sound card, but it may have same effect as connecting to headphones port (can mute the TV).
      I don't think there are any transmitters that utilize USB port only.

      How does it work it doesn’t seem to work when I plug in the RCA cable and then 3.5mm to the transmitter and my tv doesn’t have 3.5mm jack
      I tried monitor that does have 3.5mm jack and it works.
      Is there something I need to do on the tv for rca signal to work.

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  6 месяцев назад

      Are you sure you're using RCA audio out and not RCA audio input? RCA audio out should work like a passthrough.
      If you want to get sound from the input, connecting it directly to your device (it's output via RCA audio jack) would be ok too. Things like DVD players or game consoles outputs line level audio via RCA jacks and it would be also good for the transmitter input instead of getting audio out from the TV if you don't have one.

      Sounds like you're connecting TV input to the transmitter's input - that won't work. If your TV doesn't have any sound output, I'm sorry but you're out of luck.
      Good news is that PS3 can be configured to output to "multiple audio sources" and this way while having HDMI connected you should be able to get sound from RCA jacks from the PS3.

    • @pandaengineering

      I tested that with my TV and it works. Most TVs will output a line-out signal over RCA audio out of whatever is currently playing. Volume control on the TV is separate to what line-out is, so you can mute the TV and still have sound over Bluetooth. It's not possible to change the lineout volume so your receiver will have to have volume controls for that.

    Im having issues. Trying to connect my wireless headphones to my samsung tv.
    My bluetooth transmitter has a built in usb connector like the one shown and it came with the necessary audio red/white plugs bc i dont have a tv headphone jack.
    I connected it to my tv usb port & plugged the audios plugs into red & white tv ports ...AND NOTHING!!
    Yet when i connect my dvd to the tv using the red/wh/yellow plugs into my tv I get sound so I KNOW the plugs work!
    Any ideas why this transmitter wont work even though my headphone says " connected". I hear static thru my headphones when i remove a red/white plug so something is going halfway right... but whats going wrong?
    Help!
    Ideas?

    • @pandaengineering
      @pandaengineering  5 лет назад +1

      Sorry to hear that, but RCA (the red/white audio + yellow video) can only be either input or output on one connector. It's possible that your TV has only an input, since you're using it to plug in your DVD player. You can try testing your transmitter by connecting it directly to sound output (red and white) of DVD player, but if you don't have RCA or headphone jack on your TV then you're mostly out of luck.
      It's possible to get the audio from TV via HDMI (veeeery dependent on TV you have and adapter you'll use, it's called HDMI Audio Return Channel) or convert optical audio output to RCA it your TV has one (connector like this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOSLINK but converters are usually not worth the price for what you'll get).

      Sorry, I didn't have any devices that woudn't be recognised if I power up the transmitter first and then after 10 seconds the receiver (headphones or speaker). Some of the receivers I had to put into pairing mode first. If your headphones require a pin (like 12345, 0000, 1111 etc) it may not be compatible with the transmitter. Basically, the cheaper the device is, the higher chance it will work with transmitter like that. I don't think stuff like Apple AirPods will have chance of working.
