I’d like to see how a swate rod’s from north 40 companies. I have a med casting 2 local model with level wind reel. Not sure what they offer in spinners but I like it.

What size of floats do you use?

I’m using the medium. “Doggin” floats from Beau Mac’s

As always love your stuff bro... So you don't like bait caster style reels.? Cause i find it much easier to mend my line on the Clearwater especially Bank fishing to thumb that spool and let line down river then when you get a bite push down with your thumb set the hook take up the slack .my dad hated bait caster style called it picking and grining.. But i used to watch him flip spinning rod around and back reel down river..i couldn't do that cause i would forget to reset the reverse switch and set the hook massive birds nest.... Old timers were crazy bunch they started all that bobber fishing on the Clearwater 40 some years ago.. They used bass. Worm hooks with split shot pinched on the hooks and pipe cleaners for there jig body . And sharpies to color them .Man I'm old.😅

Bait casters are great, but not for customers, and not for throwing light lead. This style of fishing is not traditional bobber and jig fishing. I agree for someone who knows what they are doing a bait caster is great, but definitely not a guides friend.

Do you always run your bobber stop at 15-18 ft, or do you adjust it depending on water depth?

For this style of fishing we always run them deep. We are purposely trying to drag bottom. If we see a bunch of suspended fish in certain spots we can shorten up and float our gear to them at whatever depth they are holding at. This technique is very different than the traditional bobber fishing method, where you are trying to present your gear just off bottom
