      Yeah these guys are just pointless. I'm as much for Case as I am for Deere but "little throttle" and little shifter", I mean come on, what kind of a comparison is this anyway. I love the Magnums but in my personal opinion the only 2 things better on them than on the Deere is opening the hood and the cab is bigger, not more comfortable but more space which is great

    Still have two Magnums on the farm an 8920 and a 7120 the 7120 gets twice as much use as any of the tractors we have and even after 33 years it still is proof of reliability! Nothing can stand up to the reliability of those early magnums

    It's almost comical that nearly every complaint about the Deere is about something that was ahead of its time, and they didn't like it because it was different than what they were used to. Now, those designs are used in all modern tractors. These guys liked the huge, manually operated hydraulic levers? Really? Just the ability to set the SCV to constant flow or set the time that it operates on the Deere is leaps and bounds ahead of an old lever. Put current farmers in those two tractors now, and I'll bet the overwhelming majority will pick the Deere

  • @lovetofly32
    @lovetofly32 2 года назад +20

    I worked for a farmer in high-school that had these two tractors. But the magnum was a 7140 and the deere was a 8300. Me and my sister ran them. She got the deere and I got the magnum. Gosh I miss those days. He sold the magnum later on simply because he had it way longer than the deere. And he was a Ford and deere guy🙄 I always noticed and disliked all the same things these guys pointed out with the deere. Another thing was that it would power hop when you tried to use all of its power with a disc. I hated that! I aired down the tires but it didn't seem to help much. That magnum was so cool. I remember it would get low on fuel first because it had a smaller tank but definitely run all day on 3/4 tank. Hoping to buy one for our farm 20 years later. Searching for a low time one. Seems hard to find.

      Well I've ran an 8300 and 8320 JD alot and I just bought a low time 8930 so that tells you which one I think wins hands down. Wouldn't waste my money on something that has to be hauled off to the shop several times before it hits 3000 hrs and this case IH has never needed to see the dealer since new. Theyre always that way. Deer gets problems while the case IH just needs oil and lube and keeps going just like they should.

    • @Nick-tz2vl
      @Nick-tz2vl 2 года назад +10

      @@lovetofly32 I will always prefer the deere. So much more ergonomic than the magnum. Visibility is much better, the cab layout is much better. Dealer service for case is almost non existent around here so 75% of everyone has deeres. Even the diehard IH and case farm up the road had 2 8235r deeres show up. Lol not to mention, case totally copied deeres command arm in their later MX series tractors so everything they were saying about the cab layout in this video was total BS.

    • @thunderbolta2357
      @thunderbolta2357 2 года назад +4

      We went from a 7140 to an 8400 and the Deere wins over anything. I think we bought our 7140 brand new and my dad got to watch them build the Case tractors brand new. But anyway the Case was crap when it was brand new and it never had any power and it always leaked oil, on top of all the other problems it had. Then we got our 8400 and it sounds better, has lots more power, way better visibility, and doesn't nearly have as many problems as the case. Overall I would pick the Deere hands down over any Case of that era.

Now I will say that we had an 8410 that was the worst thing ever to prime the fuel system after changing the fuel filter. Just took forever for some reason. But other than that it was very dependable and probably the best sounding diesel ever made. This video reminds me of one case did when deere came out with the rx. They were talking about the fuel savings and ease of pull the case had on the ripper and you could see how they had the one on the case set a couple inches shallower. Lol. Whatever it takes to sell tractors I guess.

    I simply don't agree on pretty much any of their points here. Power shift, Traction, Engine (partly) and visibility. I think it's not a fair fight at all. First of all they seem to have absolutely no experience with these Deere. Were actually running more Magnums and for longer as well but the Deere is almost in every way better. For example the visibility is not even close on the Magnum but for their particular jobs they "don't need" better visibility, that's just ignorant in my opinion. You cant have a bunch of Case guys compare Case to Deere, not shit they'll go for the Magnum
