Hi Gemma, I am at day 2 of my full time online work from home journey, having worked abroad from UK for many years and wanting a change. I have watched a couple of your videos today and appreciate your honesty about profits and how hard it actually will be. I think I have some good ideas, lets see eh?,I'm going full on for 3 months F/T. and going to keep following your videos,. Wishing you luck 👍.
Fair play to this girl…..she’s kept at it, never given up, and pushed herself towards a better life for her & her kids. Maybe there’s still a fair way to go, but there’s no doubt she’ll get there in the end👍🏻I hope she now earns enough money to be able to save a little every month. A rainy day fund is always a good idea👍🏻
I have a hard time understanding why people would buy this, but obviously they do. Obviously, it has to be printed in premium colors, which is expensive and prohobitive over 40 pages. Interesting video. Thank you.
I'm wondering about the paper selection and how this turns out for the customer. Since the entire page needs to be removed easily with no tears and Amazon KDP would not make a book to those specifications, how is the end product turning out for the client? What are you reviews like?
Hi Dullove, you're right, the paper is bound to the spine and not easy to remove. All you can do is make it clear to the buyer that the pages are not perforated and will have to be removed from the book using a tool (crafter's knife, perforator, something that all crafters will have. I've even heard that a hot hair dryer directed at the spine melts the glue and loosens the pages, but I've not tried that myself!). Another thing to consider putting in the description of the book is the weight of the paper. It's quite thin, especially when compared to craft paper and card, but as long as you let the customer know they can make an informed decision. Even with these pre-cautions, there's still a good chance there will be negative reviews about the things we can't control. I've had them on my craft paper pads, it doesn't seem to influence the number sales though.
I feel like it's too easy. I should suffer more? :) Fantastic idea! I can already think of a few "out of the box" ideas and might give them a try. Thank you :)
which paper type would you select? I would assume the standard color option as otherwise the printing cost would be too high to be competitive? Thx for clarification
My preference is premium colour. I’d rather take less in royalties and maintain quality. But, saying that, I’ve never tried standard colour so can’t comment on what the quality would be like for scrapbook paper.
Thank you for a great video. I would like to create 2-sided scrapbook paper to sell. I'm curious, how does KDP know to make the duplicate pages into 2-sided scrapbook paper? Do they figure it out from the title or is there something to click within the KDP setup process to be sure the papers are printed out double sided? Thank you!
Hi NatureGloseScience, to create a double-sided scrapbook paper book (bit of a mouthful), you have to add the pages manually in whatever software you use. In Canva, for example, I would have page 1 as a title page, page 2 (back of page 1) as blank, then every other page would be a pattern or design. If you want the same pattern on the front and back of the page you'd have to duplicate the page in your software. In this example, I want page 3 and page 4 to have the same pattern, so I'd duplicate page 3. When you export the file to PDF, the book will be set up as you need for a double-sided KDP book. You can check this in the Print Previewer of KDP during the upload process.
Hello! Thanks so much for your information and time. I was just wondering if you were having any issues with negative reviews due to the thin paper kdp uses and the fact that it’s not acid free as most scrapbook paper is. Do people complain?? Thanks so much.
Hi Gemma - would I be able to upload my own art work to create collage papers instead of pre-designed art ? I am new to all this. I'd like to sell a "scrapbook" (junk journal, art journal etc) pad on KDP.

This is exactly the question I have been asking too - in Facebook groups and everywhere . No answers yet! 🥴

I would like to buy one of your books. Where can I buy them?😃

Does KDP even have the 12 x 12 for regular scrapbook paper? I couldn't find it listed.
no, they offer it as 8 x 8" maximum
Do you still sell organically or have you stated to implement ads on kdp? Would love to know, thank you for your honesty ♡
Still organically. I’ve actually noticed an increase in sales of my Christmas craft type books in the last couple of weeks.

Yes, absolutely!
