Thank you! I have put a few thousand miles on it already, plan on keeping it nice forever...it took long enough to find one in this shape! A tracker in any condition is some of the most fun you can have, enjoy yours as well 😎😎
This thing will still dominate offroad even with street tires lol. Hope you make it out to the lifted van meet in March and do some off roading with us.
I hope I can make it out! The highway tread tires are 20lbs lighter than the MTs I was considering....I need the power for my trips to national parks coming this spring!
Really hard to put a finger on why these are so fun! I think it's the honesty of them. I think the real car guys will appreciate the engineering. Purpose built to excel at 1 thing! Just good enough for the freeway but beasts offroad!
Absolutely, every bit of space, power and capability is being used which is an awesome feat of engineering! But unlike other engineering projects, everything is mechanical and can be felt
I’m going to look at a 1996 tomorrow, it’s red with the black removable hard tops, manual transmission. 77k miles with most pulled behind a motor home. It looks brand new. Two wheel drive.
That's awesome! Hope it comes home with you, finding clean unmodified trackers is not very common anymore. I would love to see it if you can make a deal!
I do think it's cool how they stuffed a more modern looking dash into the older body style. It looks like the Suzukis got the cool looking seats and the rebranded suzukis got the goofy 90s color scheme seats. I think Econoboxes like Hyundais and lower end Toyotas like the RAV4 has the same seat patten color scheme as yours and mine has the tacky 90s blue
Yeah the 90s theme is strong with this one! Only in 1998 did they have the Chevrolet badge up front and on the wheel but all 96-98s should look similar to this inside. I think this 90s movie theatre floor seating is hideous but it's period correct so I love it for that
Not sure where to find them these days....only the 98 cars had them and looks like there's none in stock at dealership. Junkyard is probably your best bet unfortunately
Yeah I looked at the body mounts, frame, rear bumper, mounts etc for rust and got excited and bought it. I didn't even notice it had a small lift, I actually called the original owner to confirm. He said it was cheaper to lift it than get original parts 😂
@@JohnDrivesAnything yeah I was totally surprised, especially considering it had 215/75s on it. Every lifted (even non lifted!) Tracker I've seen with all terrains are at least a 235
I believe it when you say the 16V is way faster then the 8V even with 15 more horsepower. My 80 Horsepower Tracker feels 50 horsepower stronger then my Friends Samurai with just 20 more horsepower.

You are correct, I thought the 16v was interference for my entire life...turns out the service manuals were incorrect and it's non-interference. I'm still going to change it, it's so easy on these!
Great video man! I enjoy watching videos on little Suzukis more then I do watching Exotic Car videos.
Nice catch, wish mine was this mint. Enjoy!!!

Got mine to flat tow as a toy but still be able to drive to work with it. Like a cheap usable slower/safer side by side.

@@tommyistommy it looks brand new, he even has a picture where he won a trophy at a car show.
I just bought a 1997 2.0 manual 4x4, 75,000 kls! Australia has no problem with rust!😊
What a sweet find! 2 door or 4 door? We only got the 1.6 in a 2 door here, the "sport" sidekick model had the 2.0 but only in 4 doors here

I own a 94 manual 4x4 unit, the only problem that I found was the rust, however it's a awesome car.
Finding a rust free one is very difficult, even in dry markets!
Jeeps are cool, iconic but it's fun being a little different
Where can I find that front Chevy emblem to replace the geo emblem? Thanks in advance…

I paid $50 for some new old stock Geo Front Emblems on Ebay. I ended up buying 2 so I always have an Extra Emblem.
I made a video last night calling you out on this topic lol. Just haven't uploaded it yet

16 valves AREN'T interference motors from what I've been gathering.
