Welcome to a new build for Let's Build THE WORLDS. This is Willowglen, home to the Willowglen family in Glimmerbrook. Inspired by The Burrow from Harry Potter, it's a small quirky home with 3 bedrooms! I'll be introducing the family that live here tomorrow :D

Me too! Sulani has become my favorite world just for the aesthetics, but I'm excited to see the characters and stories Aiden will infuse into that world
Ooooh I didn't even think about Sulani!! I'm really excited for Windenburg because it's my favourite world but it could do with an update!

I too am excited for Sulani because of the beautiful clear water, trees and sand. However, my favorite world is Brindleton Bay lol. I can’t wait to he gets to that one. Hopefully every household has a pet there.
I can't wait to start Sulani either!
What I want in build mode:
1. I want them to stop to "glue" everything together, like plants, clutter, etc. on shelfs or bookcases, it would be way better having it separated to be more creative placing it by yourself
2. I want the beds into two pieces so I can choose the wood color and the color of the mattress myself
3. I would love if the couches had a function like the kitchen counters so I could use different pieces to build a corner sofa (hope you get what I mean)
4. I would love more wallpapers that are simple and modern in neutral tones
5. More modern and creative pictures/paintings/wall Accessoires, I am a bit sick of the paintings we have, they are often old looking or full of bright colors so they do not really match what you are looking for in your buildings
6. More abilities to build waterfalls, infinity pools etc. Wouldn't it be amazing to build a pool on the edge of a cliff and letting a waterfall running down from the pool to the ground? ❤️
7. Being able to build walls out of glass, without putting a bunch of windows next to each other and have this cuts between them because of the frames..
8. Putting the stairs diagonal would be great, too.. If you build a house diagonal it is a pain to fit stairs in...
9. I remember in Sims 2 the ability to place slots by your own, I would like that back to have more freedom building my own little town...
10. The size of the bedside tables.. The size of stuff in general.. It is often so big and looks weird...
11. The shelf slots.. I mean, come on.. Mostly I cannot place something small on it.. That is.. Kinda annoying...
I hope you could understand everything I wrote :) because I am no native speaker, so sometimes I have a bit struggle to explain what's on my mind in English..

Maybe the grandmother is the like the "leader" of the family and she's this tiny old woman with the cutest face but she's a really badass spellcaster when it comes to enemies and all her grandchildren want to be like her and go to her Wozwith's house.
Yes and she could always know exactly what to say to nestlé (idek the sp) to make him loose his cool and break his composure all while remaining painstakingly polite/sweet. I saw some other commenters say the wanted to teen to be closeted or struggling with their sexual identity it would be cool if the grandmother was the only one who knew and was super supportive like the wise old forward thing matriarch of the family.
@@sadthumb6633 YES! I Imagine her as really open-minded and she could burn anyone while looking like a sweet innocent old lady. She's not the richest as well, but she's always well-dressed and with an updo

I would like the colour wheel back nothing worse than finding the perfect doors and windows and them not having matching swatches.
I feel like the teenager should be a boy and the child should be a girl and bc this family isnt the richest family ever they pass down the teenager's old clothes to the younger sister bc they cant afford new clothes for her🤷🏻♀️so shes a bit of a tomboy maybe, or shes very girly but doesnt rlly show it to everyone, like secretly loves more girly things but she always gets her brother's old clothes and toys and stuff and she hates it
I cant quite remember if you were planning on doing rivalries for the families, but since you said that this family is quite family-oriented, maybe Nesley could (lowkey highkey) resent them because they have -in abundance- what he's lost. Perhaps it even furthers his obsession with bringing his family back? (That is, if I remember my lore correctly. I've got macaroni-brain today)
I'm totally with you, Aiden-- I want a new, easier-to-use camera without that silly, sudden drop. Also, windows, doors, and furniture with matching styles and swatches. Oh, to dream. :)
(To our overseas friends :) ) It's ok having the entrance go straight in to the Kitchen, (more or less) a lot of houses in the UK do that! Great start to the build my lovely! Can't wait to see how it progresses! :D

I grew up in a house in the U.S. that had a door directly into the kitchen. In older (1880-1900) New England country houses it isn't too unusual.

I haven't finished the build yet but in the square of the roof. The cats and dogs roof sculpture 'The Original' would fit quite well I reckon! Also I loved your stream yesterday and I'm so excited for tomorrow's!

I hope there’s better land manipulation and object swatches for sims 5... I think planet zoo did a very good job with having a great selection of object with colour wheels and how everything can be rotated in all directions. It allows us players to have more freedom of creativity and not treat a table as a table for example 🤷🏻♂️

I ~knew~ I liked you!! My Fair Lady is one of my absolute favorites!! So glad I went back to find the first part of this build. I'm absolutely loving the evolution of the build and the creation of the story for the family that resides within its walls.
If I could change one thing in The Sims 4 should be the fountains. To allow the sims to play in them and not have the limitation of not being able to build them inside

This is the cutest house! It would really lend itself well to a cozy country cottage/farmhouse-style interior.

One of the things I would love in The Sims 5 Build Mode, would be the ability to put ceilings and roofs in half walls! Loving the build so far ❤️
I would like the camera to not be bothered by the surrounding terrain or the pond tool for Sims 5. I love the look of this build. Can't wait for the next part!

This building is giving me all the right vibes. Cute, cozy, cluttered cottages are probably my favourite buildings in The Sims 4. Can't wait for the interiors of this one and to know the family and their story line a little better! Anyway, I'm Erial (erialcdelune) from Twitch. Clairedelune wasn't available so I had to be creative and I decided to write Claire from the e to the c lol It was my first stream on Twitch and at first I didn't know what to do, it was very confusing but I had lot of fun watching you and spending time with you! In lots like this I wish we could decorate the exterior without limits without those lot lines I hate seeing them and the gap between like the trees on the lot and the ones around the lot! I know we can do that with the T.O.O.L. mod but it'd be easier and nice to be free ohh and also the terrain paint just drives me crazy with this limitation tbh well thanks for listening to me rant x
Maybe Sims 5 can have free build mode ANYWHERE we want. I can only dream

I like the idea of perhaps the mother being the one that's the magical anthropologist/adventurer and the father is a stay-at home dad. Just for a different take on the typical family structure.

Build mode wish list: (1) build camera mode that is steady;(2) walls that have slots for trim - so that you could pick trim and wall separately. And the wood for trims would be standard so that it would be the same for walls, door frames, window frames. Before I finished the comment, you mentioned the camera. So I agree.

The concept art for this house reminds me so much of the Weasleys home in Harry Potter, you know the one I'm talking about?? I believe it was the one with the flying car... HAHA! 🤪😊
I have decided to purchase this pack based on what I've seen so far. Having watched some build buy overviews I am kinda into the black and white swatches in a lot of the items as they come across as quite modern and I'm here for that. 😄

Like Arthur Weasley the father could be into restoring old ‘muggle’ cars. You could use those scrap cars from Strangerville to make it look like he’s been collecting them for a while.

Wishes for the Sims 5 Build Mode, despite my Fear(tm) of Sims 5 coming out--
1. Camera. 100% Agree on that, please for the love of all higher powers fix the camera in Build Mode.
2. When Seasons eventually comes out, since we all know it won't be base game--not needing a mod to build during winter or a storm because 'oh no there's a puddle/snow pile'.
3. Less pristine textures. We're supposed to believe at least one family in Realm of Magic has Ancient Bloodlines. That the Realm of Magic HQ is "old". We just got shipping container textures, finally, in Eco Lifestyle. And yet absolutely everything is still pristine and shiny and new. You can make stuff look old with the cracks and cobwebs from Vampires and you can get the outdoor wall vines/plants with... what is it, Jungle Adventure, Get Together, and Strangerville, I think? And I guess there is the corrugated (sp?) metal texture from... Get Famous, iirc. But if you don't have those, it's legit just "Hello, welcome to an episode of HGTV's newest house flip series, sponsored by discount IKEA."
4. Better matching swatches/the ability to choose which swatches get matched. (i.e. changing a bed frame to a lighter colour to compliment a different bedsheet). Even things that are meant to "match", don't match well and the subtle differences in swatches is enough to make me desire pulling my hair out orz
5. M o r e c l u t t e r s p a c e. And less "snap to position". Even if you turn move objects on, things still snap to place instead of allowing free placement and cause weird clipping and overlapping when there is *clearly* enough room to fit stuff on a surface. Especially a surface that... has no interactive function (coffee tables, excess counter space, shelves, end/bedside tables, etc.)

We love a THICC trim..... I agree 100% the Camera would be my pick too for Sims 5, not going to lie feels like they do not really listen to us at all about what needs to be improved/changed.

Terrain paint and floors matching the worlds.
Diagonal stairs, spiral stairs.
Different levels in the rooms.
Being able to stack windows over each other or windows over doors.
Pond tools.
Round walls.
To name a few. 😂

time to refill my coffee and get comfy, I love love LOVE watching Aden build house shells from the ground up! I use the lilsimsie method of “everything starts with a box” so the way Aden builds little by little is so fascinating
5:35 I’m used to houses where you walk right into the kitchen either through the front door or the garage, so this feels so cozy and normal to me 🥰

19:20 sometimes with this build mode I miss the sims freeplay where it never even occurred to me to think about roofing 😅
This might be cheating a little because it would affect other parts of the game, but if I could have them fix one thing in S5 build mode it would be the ability to make things wheelchair accessible. All I want is a ramp and a functioning elevator.

31:40 since you’ve decided to embrace Nifty Knitting, how about one of the kids is SUPER into arts and crafts? Maybe they have a goofy little dog who always wears homemade sweaters.
38:00 ish- I love the use of Island Living stuff in this build, I never use those windows or that fence but I love it here!
44:18 apropos of nothing it IS exactly 4:20 PM in my time zone...
some ideas for the Willowglen family:
-for some reason I see them having a big extended family and lots of muggle and muggle-born friends and partners. maybe some of the snobbier spellcasters [coughNESLEYcough] might look down on the Willowglens for fraternizing with normies and “diluting” their magical bloodline
-also, maybe the family could be partially Selvadoradan? since the dad is a magical archeologist maybe he met his wife there, OR maybe a distant Willowglen foremother was a spellcaster from Selvadorada so he got into archeology in part to learn about his heritage and about magic in other parts of the world
(also I just think more Sims should be Selvadoradan since it’s clearly the Sims analogue of Central America and the Sims 4 as a whole- which should really be called The White American Millennial Simulator 4- has an EXTREMELY suspicious lack of Latino influences for basically being the US. but that’s none of my business 🐸☕️)
-and OBVIOUSLY they deserve a nice cute willow tree somewhere! 🌴🌳
but I think that’s all I have to say. this part was adorable, can’t wait to see what’s up tomorrow! hopefully I’ll see all y’all at the stream 😜

What I want most for build/buy mode, there are a lot, but if I have to pick one that has the biggest effect on building I guess I would pick curves. We already have the ability to curve roofs so I don't see why it can't also be done with walls and staircases. It could be a similar system as the roofs. You make a standard straight line wall first and then you have arrows with which you can pull it into a curve.

i love that space in the roof on the top of the build! could you maybe put the island living glass pieces in there, and maybe a weird magical plant growing in it?? (hope that makes sense) also, theres nothing i love more than when you get excited when the swatches actually work in your favor :)

It’s preposterous that the roofs still - after how many years? - poke into houses when you use a fence indoors.
How the H**** did they have only one bathroom for as many people they had in the burrow?!?!

Maybe there should be a 'squib' in the family. Someone who was born a normal sim instead of a spellcaster.
I'm so disappointed I missed your first stream >.< I was so damn excited and then I ended up accidentally falling asleep lol damn anemia *shakes rageful fist* I'll be sure to be there next time though! This is by far the most adorable Glimmerbrook build I've seen so far. I know its harry potter inspired but I'm also getting some Ghibli vibe as well. I can't wait to see the family you make for it!

I love this build trust me... this cozy cottage vibes is one of my favourite! Another great build Aden! Love you man! Also there is something perfect to cover the hole in the roof, it’s in debug next to the red and white shop front awning, it looks like something covers manhole haha it’s black and flat, Hope this helps!
