Hey guys! I thought I’d mention because I’ve had a couple of comments about the cellos and suggestions! We currently do use plant based compostable cellos 🫶🏻🤩💖 a lot of you guys suggested this! You should make a Katnipp Cottage pin display! Then you can have the pins/characters in the windows and playing outside.

It would be great to try and make the hole punch option work, and save on using plastic. It feels like a step backward a little bit. If you did sell wholesale it would be saving the planet from the extra bit of unnecessary plastic. We need to keep breaking the norm for “a product must be over packaged just to look valuable or professional”. Love your vids Catherine, always inspiring! Reminds me to follow my creative side!

I agree packaging is EVERYTHING!! As a shop hanging stuff is best. If you get the hanging cardboard bits laminated (controversial I know) they won’t rip. They look very unsightly in the shop when this happens. Customers then don’t want them. Hanging tabs work best with smaller stuff. Can I suggest if you use your stickers for mugs lengthways and then adding a circular one with maybe your logo or a little doodle. Don’t put too much work and cost into packaging, because people are just going to throw it away!!! I did the same thing when I started selling wholesale and my hubby reminded me that!

I personally don't mind the sticky tabs but just keep in mind they will hang lower since the tab goes above it! I think the hole punch does look better though and I know with more eco-conscious customers these days they always appreciate leaving one less plastic thing out of the process especially when they're so digestible-sized. I'm sure there are probably recycled / paper alternatives though that you could look into if you go for the tabs!

@@taterballz We do use plant based compostable cellos, not just plastic, but I totally agree it would be nicer without the sticky tabs at the top!
put on some vaseline on your nose! layer it on thick when going to sleep. You don't damage your skin that way, you just wipe off a layer of vaseline. I do it everytime and it helps me a lot

Gorgeous! Is it an idea to just move that small top line down to under pin display? That may allow for the whole punch and it won't really look bad maybe? Just an idea... 🥰

I would do the hole punch option for all of them because people are used to it, even if they order. If it’s all the same, you can just pull from one place for both. I have no experience, so grain of salt. Lol.
For the pin display you could move the Katnip logo slightly to the left so that you have space for the hole punch. Also I think you could add more to the packaging if you wanted to bc in another of your other videos you mentioned making the backing paper a cute postcard that can be kept so that there's less paper waste......maybe you can do something similar for this new packaging.

This is so lovely! Something you could do under your website is to put social media logos too. You could also make a small circle on your printed design and punch that, I do that for my pins so they’re all even.
For the concerns of larger plastic- there are bags made out of plants (I can’t remember what it’s called but it’s a little thicker and waxy). Eco enclose might have recycled plastic too, I use that for my art prints. I use glassine bags too for my stickers, I think it’s lovely and affordable.

Highly recommend getting some pawpaw ointment for your nose! I get colds a lot and my nose gets dry and scabby like that too, just chuck some ointment on it before bed and it'll be all good the next day

My small business goal is to have fully decked out packaging. It's a far in the future goal, but it is nice to have one that keeps ya going! Packaging is looking really cute!

There’s an uk based company that makes plant based packaging products like plastic bags, it’s called eco-craft, you should definitely take a look there!

If I may suggest, why not doing the same packaging than the pin displays for the mouse mats? A piece of cardstock folded in two and then they can be hung up at conventions or for wholesale 😉

I actually should of done this haha, but I have done a mini print on the bag to encourage people to keep the backing cards, where as the pin display doesn't have that!

I use the clear sticky tabs as not all my stuff has the heading card or goes to places with hanging bars and they will stick to the cellos too.
Really loved this vid! Your always so busy and it inspires me to get motivated and on with my stuff haha! I have a cheeky request. Can we have a packing orders video! I loved the hour long one you did a year or so ago! I love putting that on in the background whilst I work, it’s like we’re working together ☺️
Cute u could also design on the white bags to n get them n all kinds colours and make it look adorable to match different flower stickers or gingie and spice sticker oooo love to see the cat one on there be super cute 🥰

I've just switched to a punch rather than stick on euro hooks to reduce plastic. I'm also thinking of removing cello for many of my products during fayres as I'm finding they reflect the light so much, people aren't necessarily coming into our store as they can't straight away see what we sell.

This has probably been covered many videos ago when the circuit was used more, but what sticker paper does anyone recommend? I've a Silhouette but hardly use it. Really want to get into making use of it. :D

Guess it's hard to know what to do with ordering new labels etc because really everything extra you add for packaging like stickers and ink it's basically money taken away from your profit unless the extra costs are added to the price people pay. If companies can afford to lost a bit of profit to have different packaging and add extra stuff it's not too bad.

how about putting the stickers on the front of the box instead of over the seam. That way the box can be used if the mug is a gift
