That one is slightly different, the spikes are angled at 45 degrees whereas all other impulses have 90 degree spikes like the one hear at SF great america. The hilarious reason for it is the ride exceeds the height limitations six flags discovery kingdom has to follow, its something like 180 feet and the regulations meant that DK could only build it to be 150, but they didnt, violated the law and lied about saying the ride was only 150 feet tall. The city of valencia did not take kindly to this and forced them to lower the height, hence the angled spikes.
I was forth in line with my buddy back in 2001 for this ride. It’s just a new paint job and they removed the best part , the brake on the second straight drop. Boring now.

Wow wow wow stop the clock! Marcus is a legend in the coaster community. He is not just some random white dude. A lot of us Ace coaster members know Marcus see him at the parks. Marcus goes to Parks he might be an American Coaster Enthusiast member also. Another thing why focus on the bad? Is their not 10,001 stories about bad news happening on the daily and what good does it bring you to hear about another shooting? Another death? What does it do for you? You can’t change it. In the grand scheme of things your analysis is the opposite actually. Bad news is useless! There isn’t anything you can do about it. You can’t change it, it is just a fact. Now a roller coaster review you can ride that coaster, you can have that experience, you can connect with other people and share that experience.

To be fair the ride still is quite an adrenaline rush. And that holding brake has not been used since 2008 due to maintenance issues.
I loved the holding break as well, but I’m sure it put a lot of stress on the ride and the passengers.
