Hello, Do you think any base coat will do(any brand) or is it specifically little greene? I'm new to pouring art, I lost counting how many times I've failed bloom technique...especially when most artists that are sharing their recipes are different from what we have in the UK.
Straightforward and more obtainable ingredients than other recipes - in the UK at least! What (approx..) ratio pouring medium to paint? Thanks so much for posting 💚
Depends on the pigments you are working with, add a little to begin with, and continue till your happy with the colour. Thank you so much for your comment.. 🖐😀🙏
Amazing uk recipe and technique, you’ve got this nailed!!! Love this, and the mesmerising ambient techno, who’s that? Have you made vid explain your Paint mixes??? My colours tend to look less vibrant 😩😩😩. Keep busting out masterpieces 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Liz, thank you so much for your comment.. Maybe checkout my video, Acrylic Blooms #New Recipe #For Beginners.. Much simpler recipe, not to mention cost effective... Really easy to follow... 🖐😊🙏
Thank you for this, so much easier than others I have seen. I do have a question, if using tube paints, do you ONLY add pouring medium to the paints, no water floetrol?
Your welcome Christy, All the info / recipe is listed the video.. If I remember correctly, yes just pouring medium for these ones.. I have Videos for Acrylic bloom, similar results.. Very easy to follow.. Best of luck with the pouring..🖐☺
Hi Marylou, yes its just a water based, semi-gloss paint your looking for. It called vinyl silk over here. The squares are 20 × 20 cm.. Try using Amsterdam white mixed with water for your cell activator.. Have just been experimenting with it and it works great. All the best 🖐😃
Hi Xochitl, this titanium white, is by Daler & Rowney... Its still very much in the experiment stage.. I'm sure the Amsterdam bran will work too? Thank you so much for your comment.. 🖐😀🙏
Hi Capri, the varnish is mixed with an untainted based paint.. The liquid they add your chosen colour to in the hardware store.. You might like to checkout my last two uploads .. I have a new recipe the ingredients very simple with the same results.. all the best 🖐😊🙏
Hey Paul, so okay you got me going here watching several other artists doing this (with a nod to you lol). Seems you are only using white house paint as a base on your canvas, when others are using ultra deep base added to it. (to the white house paint that is-one using varnish,,). Seems also that the house paint needs to be semi gloss....Just wondering what your thoughts are on that? (I watched 3 other artists...jenny Post, Jenn Neil and Tammy Anderson)
Hi crochet happy, my ingredients are listed exactly as I used them in the video.. Dulux silk, is a water based gloss finish.. Works perfect with this technique.. Wasn't aware of any nods by others artist.. lol 😀🖐
Not for this technique.. In previous videos I add a few drops to one or two of the colours.. For natural cells once the base coat mixes with the colour Palette it nearly always results in cells.. All the very best with the pouring.. 🖐🙏😀
Hi Paul, I messaged you a while ago. Like what you’ve done there. Just one question. Do you add anything else to your base paint or does it dry without cracking. I’ve tried all sorts of household emulsion paint bit it always cracks as it dries. Regards Mike.
Hi Mike, We've all been there - absolutely Soul destroying to watch a good piece crack as it drys.. Without seeing your work / recipe it's really hard to know where the problem lies? I'll throw out a few solutions off the top of my head that typically causes this type of problem.. Firstly, If there is to much base paint left on the canvas it can cause cracking, or crazing as it drys.. 2) Going over an already used canvas that hasn't been prepared properly is definitely a disaster waiting to happen.. 3) I personally have used most emulsion brands at this stage with no problem, chances are its probably not the paint - if it's not stirring to a syrup like quality straight from the Can its ok to add a little water and floetrol to the mix.. 4) If you still have no joy, I would be checking the water based varnish ratios? Varnish in the mix is notorious for causing crazing if its not the right brand / ratio. Hope this answer helps.. I'd really need to see the full recipe - or at least which recipe you are following.. I have Acrylic blooms, plus recipe on my channel - You really cant go wrong with these ones? Maybe try a couple before attempting this recipe? At least you will have some finish piece to work from? As I said hope this answer helps.. All the very best... Paul 🖐

wow Paul-outstanding!! I guess you have moved on to high quality, expensive paints? Do you think you would be able to achieve this on a larger scale? I know the small ones are easier! Glad to see your subs increased!
Hi Crochet Happy, The most expensive part is sourcing the ingredients.. I guess it all depends on what part of the world your from.. Once you figure out what works any acrylic paints - pigments will mix with little adjustment's to the recipe.. From my first upload to RUclips, the goal has always been working those small areas of interest to as large a scale as possible.. ALREADY ON IT! lol Fingers Crossed.. 🖐😀🙏🤞
