Also a bazillion kudos for having a RUclips channel.. omg 😱 if people knew what all went into this! The sheer amounts of time, prep, editing, answering comments and so on .. it is sooo mind boggling that it’s amazing we have any channels here at all. So a humongous THANK YOU 🙏🏽 because none of it is easy!! This video is not too long. 45 minutes start to finish- to get everything needed to make a technique is NOT long.
Your instructions are super clear & your art is sooo so beautiful!!! 👏👏👏🤩🤩😍😍😍

I'm glad you clearly get so much joy from your creative work, and obviously it gives us out here in viewing land a lot of joy as well. Take care and, Many Blessings.

Thank you for taking the time to show us how you get your beautiful paintings. Although the video was a bit long, it was worth it. I like the idea of not having to "blow" as I also am having trouble with that. I have my notes, and I have most of the items you mentioned, now I will have to see if I can make it happen for me. I have tried a few of the other formulas and they have not been successful. By the way.....I purchased the course.

For the cell activater, which min wax pre conditioner do I use? I went to Amazon and there are a lot to choose from with different sku numbers. You said oil based but wouldn't that have to be washed off of the painting before varnishing? Thanks so much for all of the time you put in this video to help us all out.

    • @RisenSunAcrylics
      @RisenSunAcrylics  4 года назад

I use the Minwax oil based wood conditioner that is sold at Home Depot within the US. I know there are other brands, but I haven’t tried as this one works well. As for the cleaning, the amount that you use is negligible so I’ve not had issue with varnishing or resin, though it’s good practice to clean your canvas before applying any finish.

Very pretty I love the results you get using the palette knives...(starting to get bored with the typical blooms. Lol) I like having more design options using the knives so thank you for showing us that as well as the rest of the video. Also I was wondering since you mentioned you are asthmatic if the wood conditioner or the polyurethane bothers you much... I know the pre stain is pretty strong but I haven't tried the JoSonja brand of poly yet ...do either of these cause you any issues ?? I'm really leery about using those types of products and have tried to stick with the less "potent" or otber alternatives but don't get as good results. ?? Thanks for sharing your version your results are beautiful. 😉😉😉 Also I just did a search at my local Lowes website for the Sherwin Williams base paint & the one with the same exact product # you provided clearly says in the description that it is a paint and primer in one . Item # 833209 but I thought you mentioned in the video NOT to use a paint & primer in one . Can you double check that on yours please & thank you. 😉😉😉😉😉😉

Hi, Julie - thank you for your kind words! I love the palette knives because I think it provides for more artistic control. The Jo Sonja and the wood conditioners are very strong, but I open the window when I use them and have not had issues. As for the pouring medium, yes, you are correct it is a paint and primer. It is pillow from Walmart (ColorPlace) that you don’t want the paint and primer in one. Let me know how it goes!

Is there a written explanation and list of products? I thought you mentioned it but I am not seeing it. Great explanation, super helpful!

Hi, can you vanish tiles when the paint is dry? If yes, what varnish do you use/ recommend? Can ordinary furniture varnish be good on the painted tile? Thanks very much 🌺

Thank you for the GREAT tutorial. 👍You kept my interest and I learned a lot! I'm so glad I didn't skip past yours. Oh, and your art piece is very nice. I'm excited to give this technique another shot after 4 tries and not a lot of lace and cells which is what I wanted. My family says they look pretty. :) BUT, I know what I am shooting for and tomorrow is another day to relax, breathe and do another 🤞

I wish you could help me with some questions. I live in Denmark and I can't figure out the paint you are using for your pouring medium and base (pillow) we don't have these in Denmark, and I have a hard time finding what I can use instead🥺
Is it possible to use acrylic white paint instead, like them I use in pouring? Not Amsterdam since I must use this for cell activator (I luckily can buy Amsterdam in Denmark 🙏)

First thing, thank you so much for sharing your receipts. I have been wanting to try this new technique for a while. You are an awesome teacher!
I have a question - if I don’t want to resin, what can I use to seal? I do coaster sets and have been using polyurethane. But with these mixtures not sure how well that will do. Thank you for any feed back you can give. Have a blessed day.

I’m not a fan of resin, but for coasters you probably would still want to resin. For paintings I like Liquitex High Gloss varnish. You may have a little texture so if that is bothersome you’d want to resin. Don’t forget to let the paint cure before you do either 😊

Did you say oil based wood conditioner. I thought it was water based. Thank you four doing this for us. I love your art work.

Because it is oil base wood conditioner, do you need to wash it if before resin? Like you do with silicone.

I would recommend you lightly clean any canvas before putting varnish/resin on it.

The artificial creamer bottles work great too especially the small ones if you're not doing a whole lot of painting

Our Lowe’s here in the USA doesn’t carry the Sherwin Williams UNTINTED base paint without the label saying WHITE. Should I try that?
