Kate Sullivan, thanks so much for naming the plant. I saw it and told Erica about it but could NOT remember the name to save my life! Whew, I am so glad you came up with the name The painting looks exactly like them!
@@santababy1952 I couldn't remember the name either! I used "Google Lens," snapped a picture, and it did the search for me and gave me the name. Funny how something you've known all your life will slip away when you want to think of it!
Thank you so much!! I know that was long and not real exciting for you but I really appreciate it. I suck at blooms but this gives me a reason to try again!
This is an excellent tutorial! Going to have to try the wrecked technique. Looking forward to the Polypour demo-mine is on its way and I have no idea how to use it! Beautiful results as usual Erica! ❤️
This reminds me of a trip to Buchard Gardens in Vancover BC in the late 1980s. The hanging begonia flowers glowed just like this painting. Very helpful tech support.
You are one of my favorite artists ..you inspired me.. I have watched video after video of you and a few other ladies on here Tammy Anderson, Rinske Douna, Olga Soby, Mii paintings, Gilly Kube.. you ladies just are so fantastic and I am so excited to start my pouring I can't wait to do it thank you! for all your work and sharing all your talent...
Wow. Erica . Your friend Karen from Waterfall Acrylics recommended we watch your technique for the bloom recipe. Im so glsd she did because your mixing is awesome. Then when you done your 3 bloos on that wooden circle, it turned our absolutely stunning. Those colours ,together are fabulous and when i saw the Cels and webbing im not surprised Karen is showing you off to her subscribers. She is my No 1. Im not only in hysterics at her stories and her laugh but her Artwork is Beautiful.... Im so glad I watched your mixing because your the first person to use a product that I know..lol. Homebase is my local hardware shop. Im new at this and your instructions are perfect for me. We even have the same scales and 3 different sizes of plastic cups. 😅😅. I look forward to seeing many more of your videos in the near future. Love from Scotland 🏴 Sandra xx ⚘
This is the best tutorial I've watched so far, of the bloom. Thank you so much for all the trouble you took to explain step by step, so well. It's much appreciated. I love the colors you used. It was beautuful. Looked like a caladium leaf. So pretty. Look forward to your next you tube.
thank you! Lots of thick house paint to keep them floating and I also believe that the gel I put in the bloom recipe not only helps thicken up my mix but also helps hold the shape of the cells and lacing... i think lol
Erica Hughes Art I looked for the Golden gel but don’t know the exact same. They make so many that I got confused. What is the name of the one you use? I love that you get so much out of the paint, with very little waste! Just amazing. Thanks again
This is absolutely beautiful I’m gonna try and re-create this I just mixed up my paints tonight I’m so excited I don’t think I’m gonna be able to sleep!
Thanks so much for this video. Hubby and I are going to have a ‘bloom off’ this weekend 😂 on little mfd coasters. Again, thanks for your time and sharing x
thanks for sharing everything, I'm in the UK and have substituted the valspar for dulux wood and metal untinted deep base, it works great especially with the Vallejo gloss - ended up buying the Aussie floetrol after trying and experimenting with everything - huge difference, thanks again.
Hey Janine. Is this the paint you used? I'm in the UK and struggling to find the Valspar paint. Thank you. X www.amazon.co.uk/Dulux-Quick-Gloss-Paint-Metal/dp/B00M7104M4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Dulux+Wood+and+metal+untainted+deep+base+paint&qid=1609958429&sr=8-3
I am so pleased Erica that you must be in UK despite your accent!! 🥰 so hard to find stuff that they use in US or Australia in stores in uk so thank you 🙏 Great tutorial clicked liked & subscribed 👍🏻
Couple questions 1. When using such thick paint, how do you prevent crazing? 2. How well does this technique work on larger canvases? Like a 20x16 3. What does base C mean and why is it important? Thanks for your help 💗 love your work
Love your paintings and tutorials. I am still fighting the “measles” every now and then! I have found if you do your tester on a piece of photo paper and it dries well it looks good in an IKEA box frame. Saves waste!
Great tutorial Erica! I’m curious about the polypour .. I got some late last year but couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted to, I’m excited to see your video on it, I may have to revisit it ☺️💜
