      Did you find a solution? I am debating doing this to mine but curious why it didn’t work. Did you wait a couple seconds before turning the key after putting it into the ignition?

    Hey there! I have a 2003 L322 and have a suspected LCM problem, which has caused the steering lock to malfunction. This video helped me to fix the problem. Thanks so much!

    Thanks Doug! Really appreciate your help in posting this up and the detailed explanation. Will let you know how I go with this fix. Push start button is cool BTW and could be my next project! Good luck with all the other issues... (massive water leak?...sigh... I know the feeling of that one too!)

    I have a 2005 l322 with no start button (but with key down near shifter) steering lock is stuck on, car won't start, originally key wouldn't turn so I put a live to the blue wire after a quick google search. If I connect the blue to the red and yellow like you have will this allow me to start the vehicle (but with the steering bolt stuck in the lock position or unlock the steering?) Thanks Tom

      Follow the video precisely and you will fix your problem. The start button in mine is aftermarket. I installed that. It is NOT an OEM button.

      @@DougBe38 I fixed it, it was the ignition barrel, I swapped the hone ring and chip to replacement barrel fron ebay and it fired up, I had previous tried replacement steering column complete with ecu (Just plug in not fitted) and it still wouldn't start so I purchased replacement barrel with key.

      @@tomtom4633 hi I am having the no turn no start problem now, was pulling the fuse but found I had to drop it in neutral and that only worked sometimes. I did the wiring from this video and it allows me to turn the key but still no start. What's the pieces you replaced?

    • @tomtom4633
      @tomtom4633 Год назад +2

      @@thenormalfamily810 it was the ignition barrel in my customers car that was faulty, I bought a replacement barrel+key 2nd hand and used the existing rf hone ring (the black part at top of ignition barrel) and put the chip from my original key into the replacement key, fitted the replacement barrel and it started fine, I ruled out ignition lock failure/sticking lock pin as I plug in a replacement and vehicle still wouldn't start, 12v feed to like in the video worked but vehicle wouldnt start either that's why I knew it had to be ignition barrel fault

    Hi Doug! Great video! Very helpfull!
    Why does using the Push Start Button avoids having to wait to start the Rover?
    Any Push Start Button brand you suggest?
    Thank you!

    Hi Doug, thank you for posting this video. I like the push button idea you did on your LR322. Do you have a video of that or would mind sharing what you purchased for that.

      I don't have a video of it and the button I got sucks. I'll be replacing it. Unfortunately, it won't be replaced any time soon bc the L322 is down... again. Needs an engine. I don't be replacing the engine any time soon.
