Great movie, this is the 3rd time I’ve watched it this year alone.😅 Anne Heche was a brilliant actor, in this movie it’s like she turns into the compassionate genius she’s playing, and the cast is excellent.
I love the little things we rarely see anymore - I mean she looks like she’s actually been wearing the same suit for 48+ hours, hasn’t washed or brushed her hair with anything but her fingers. These (woke) days it seems like every actor gets a full body prep/change between takes - they can be in a hurricane and still look like they could walk into a party. Idiotic.
*Anyway!* I miss the good “not-that-old” days (and the movies!🍿) and I miss Anne, she was truly talented, hypnotic. RIP ❤
Her death seems pretty awkward too. Like in one of so-called conspiracy theory movies, that turned out not to be a conspiracy theory. 😢
If there were no conspiracies, why have intelligence services or detectives? Every proven conspiracy at one point was a conspiracy thesis, then a conspiracy theory, and finally a proven conspiracy. For example the Chem trails, which have been admitted to even on the UN website years ago. They even stated that they wouldn't honor any countries airspace and evade it by all terms, of course with the excuse of "saving the planet".
The information is there, but if people don't do their research, they wouldn't know. One can only *inform* others, but one cannot *understand* for others.
BTW I miss the clean skies of my childhood. 😢

The movie was made in 2006 and used prior Pandemics as its source. Covid is nowhere near the level of the Spanish Influenza which devastated the world in 1918-20.

Maybe Anne should not have been drunk and driving. Maybe she should have stopped after crashing at the parking garage. No she decided after her crash to continue driving at speeds of 90-100mph putting countless innocent lives at risk. Not to mention the lady and her house that she drove through and caused to burst into flames causing the loss of her home and possesions. Thank god that lady and her pets were in a different part of the house and were able to get out safe or your Anne would have murdered her. Where is your sympathy for the real victim in that scenario. As to Anne, the public is now safe from a very dangerous person. Darwin award well deserved

Vaccines do not destroy the immune system. They give a person a small dose, or an altered dose (with just an identifying marker) so that the immune system gets a jump on dealing with the virus if and when it comes in contact. It is our own immune system that fights the virus when we take a vaccine. It is how vaccines work --- similarly to someone getting a milder exposure naturally ---both giving a body a chance to have their immune system work well enough fast enough to destroy a deadly virus before it destroys them.
Masks do not destroy the immune system. Their main function is to prevent the person wearing one from spreading the virus if they have the virus and are not yet aware of it, so that they can carry on and take care of business. They offer some protection, but lesser protection to the wearer.
Masks and social distancing are good at helping to prevent or slow the spread of the virus.
Vaccines are good at helping to prevent a person from dying from exposure to the virus.
I understand that you don't understand any of what I am telling you, because you may not have the capacity to understand.
But it is possible that you just never took the time to study the history of vaccines and how they work, or the history of mask wearing to prevent the spread of illness, or how illnesses are spread. This particular virus is airborne and highly aerosol in that, and highly contagious because of that. That is why mask wearing, social distancing, and vaccines are recommended.
The more people who get and spread the virus, the more hosts it has to aid and abet it, and the more opportunities it gets to mutate into varying strains --- which people can get again, and which vaccines may not be able to keep up with --- so that we can never get past Covid infections and deaths from people having their immune systems overwhelmed unnecessarily.

This is my second time watching it during the COVID-19 pandemic which is a new normal after 5 million people died around the world in 2022. Well, I used to do so in 2019 before Covid-19 was transmitted. At that time, I thought about what would happen if it were real and I had no idea. When the time had come, this movie reminded me and it seemed to match. Gosh! This is a top-notch movie and worth your time

C19 put me in the hospital back in 2021 and I almost didn't make it - I have a new found respect for viruses and those medical people who treat them.

Love the premise and it makes a great suspense movie. Fortunately for us, there are actually an average of about 7 cases of bubonic plague diagnosed each year in the US because it is endemic in western wildlife like squirrels and chipmunks. It is detectable through symptoms and confirmed with lab tests and most cases are effectively treatable with existing antibiotics, although it does still have an 8-10% mortality rate. So plaque no longer causes the kind of scenario in this movie - whew!
Except that in 1998 resistant strains were found in infected people in Madagascar, it won't be forever before such is found in any area where the plague is endemic. Sorry.
Bubonic plague is caused by a bacteria and easily treated with antibiotics.
Exactly right. Also, as long as we are fact checking the premise of this movie, it's important to note that the real plague is a bacterial disease and not caused by a virus. (This movie repeatedly states otherwise.)
Antibiotics don't cure viral diseases, they only go against organisms like bacteria. But antibiotics can help against secondary infections that pop up when our immune system is fighting the virus. Therefore the best way to go against viral infections is, to strengthen the natural immune system for it's fight against the viral infection, and use antibiotics against secondary bacterial infections.
Unfortunately there are plenty of other diseases you can get.
Wow, quarantine the entire city, but there's two doctors and one nurse in the whole ER.
Checks first patient in containment ICU with hazmat suit. Goes into the next room takes off hazmat suit without any protocol or even washing hands after touching the suit. Hospital has 3 patients in containment but allows flood of sick patients with similar symptoms just to wander in from the streets. This is so realistic.
Isn't it uncanny how much more we are all so aware of the important steps required, in order to protect ourselves during a ''real'' pandemy now?! At least we have this positive, to account for our real dreadful pandemic experiences and sacrifices...

Engine design has increased fuel miserliness to a marked degree and it is natural that fuel would be scrutinised as well. It would be possible I suppose to introduce an agent through the by pass turbine rather than the hot section or the efflux but either method is unnecessary. The techniques of dispersal of aerosols through nozzles behind the wings of aircraft have been in use for a very long time and patented particularly since 1946. That is how experiments in covering the atmosphere with a reflective layer to bounce the sun's radiation back into space have been carried out. This is not by the way a 'conspiracy theory' but recorded as happening. Just another tool of the military.
This movie is more up-to-date than others I've wanted to watch. It's pretty good so far (15minutes).

One objective appears to be to normalize the concept of quarantining a whole city. Before covid, this had never been done, so why would it be the first thing considered by authorities either in fiction or fact. And before the Boston Bombing, the term "lockdown" was only applied to prisoners.

Half-way through the movie and I can't believe I'm actually seeing a film about this. 20 years ago I wrote a scenario dealing with the same issue and it was totally rejected by everyone. It's now 2024. Some people were very frightened of making a movie about it. Scared of their careers being ended. Scared what the FBI or CIA might do to them. The Johnson Production Group and Insight Film Studios should be congratulated for funding and releasing this film. This is to 'toxic skies' what the movie Capricorn One was to the moon landings. With this film, the wonderful Anne Heche left us a valuable legacy.

What's so odd about this movie is that I'd never seen it before, yet my history told me I'd seen it all the way through.

I'm going to tell you guys a scary story. I used to live in a city called Killeen. It's the sister city to Fort Hood. When ebola broke out again in Sierra Leon, the government sent our soldiers to help with the chaos there. The public was told that upon their return, they would be quarantined for 2 weeks to make sure they were not contagious. That was a lie. I lived 4 apartment buildings down from a soldier who was stationed there. The day after he arrived, his neighbors found him laying face down in his own vomit. The police barricaded all exits from our neighborhood and CDC showed up almost immediately. They told us we were not allowed to leave our homes till the situation was resolved. We saw teams of people in hazmat suits going in and out of his apartment. Hours later, the police announced that the threat was over and allowed us to go outside. The next day, every single paper and news station was claiming that the soldier had smoked bath salts and had overdosed. Another lie. The police had already told us the truth the day before when they were shutting off the streets. I remember very clearly, "If you want to die from ebola or get arrested, then stay out here. Otherwise, get back in your homes."
Yikes... a buddy of mine that worked at Sandia labs called me at 3am wanting to get something off his chest. What it was is that he had terrible insomnia for 3 weeks because he found out something awful escaped the dougway facility and several people that worked both sites were quarantined. He said that the things they work on, if it ever got out would be the end of us. At least nuclear stuff it goes away eventually...😮

1. Doctor in movie said that bubonic plague hasn’t been seen [in the US] in over 100 years. Not true. I live in the Mountain West and we often have plague outbreaks in prairie dog colonies, chipmunks, mice, and other native rodents. Sometimes free-roaming household pets catch it from them, and, less frequently, humans can pick it up as well. It’s reported in local news and I also heard about a recent (last year) local human case from my doctor at an infectious disease clinic. The person caught it from cleaning out a mice-infested crawl space without proper PPE.
2. Activist listed “diseases” that have been on the rise -possibly resulting from toxic chemicals- and included autism. Autism is *not* a “disease.” It’s a neuro-developmental condition with a seemingly strong genetic component, since it often appears in multiple generations of a family. A person is *born* autistic, and the characteristics first appear in very early childhood (a requirement for diagnosis as per the DSM-5).
The change in autism rates changed because its now defined differently and includes more people.
The great increase in numbers, alarmed many people.
Bubonic plague hasn't been at a human contagious level in a hundred years.

Even this movie confuses people about the chem trails...the chemicals are not added to the jet fuel. The seats of the jets are removed and in there places, are rows of big containers, filled with the metals or chemicals or whatever you wanna call them. There are sprayers located on each wing, separate from the engines.

In the beginning when the doctors are taking off their haz mat suits after talking to Heather, patient zero... they take off their suits, nurse comes in saying.. you need to see this... they dont put their suits back on and walk into the lobby of sick people. Couldn't help but laugh. Instantly exposed. Why wear the suit in the first place.

People with theories are often dismissed as crazy, yet their theories are rarely ever attempted to be disproven with facts/evidence. It's like placing a label "conspiracy theorists" is a bad thing and that immediately ends the discussion. Police detectives are "conspiracy theorists". Their job is to create a theory on the crime they are attempting to solve, and then go about searching for facts to prove it. Without them many crimes go unsolved. Next time someone approaches you with a topic you know nothing about, avoid the name calling, unless you can prove them wrong with facts, logic and reason.
