My son went through a very similar situation. He was charged with first degree murder. After spending two and a half years in an adult jail he was found NOT GUILTY!!! That was in 2006. He has a beautiful heart!!! He has a family now as well. We all still battle with the horror we went through, specially him!!! PRAIES THE NAME OF JESUS HE HAS BEEN SET FREE!!! He has a great job in which he loves very much!! He provides for his family very well. Thank Jesus that this nightmare didn’t kill his spirit!!!
When the judge announced the verdict of NOT GUILTY. I raised my hands to Jesus as his Dad sobbed in his hands and his little sister cried tears of joy. Her first words were” my hubby is coming home”. Praise Jesus!!!

What this movie does actually prove is how easy it can be to actually end up in prison for something that you never actually did. Jimmy was lucky as his appeal case at the high court was reviewed, but how many other Innocent people are still sitting behind bars.
Oh my goodness I cried a lot. Awesome story. I remember my brother who got in prison because of false accusation. I study a lot of laws relevant to his case so I can defend him as the judge plead him guilty. I don't settle and saw my brother's eyes tears always begging for me because he knew I am warrior. So I raise his case to the highest court and I never surrender till the judge don't drop the case. The highest court called out the judge and after a week my brother got out in jail and walk free now. Always tell the truth even if it hurts you and your life will be at risk. Truth is truth. Thanks for upload. Lesson for everybody.
I am a retired Prison Officer who worked with life prisoners for 7 years, I have to say that if you treat prisoners right, and do not look into what they have done they will respect you and in my case look after you. But in saying that there is the minority. Great Film

Good movie, I love the way the disabled man gives him a pat on the shoulder, when he is upset after his mom had to leave early. Then at the end the disabled man cried.

The strong bond between Will and Jimmy was what really pulled at my heart strings. Two totally different people can find a way to connect with the utmost respect. Love this movie.
I know the. Feeling I had people swear against me and sent me to prison for five years for thirty dollies as a result I lost my wife and family my job and my life teaching world history at Clay County high school in Manchester Kentucky however the lord Jesus Christ was with me serving that time he never left me or turned his back on me I am now a born again Christian. I was born into the church of god in Christ in louisville kentucky I can feel the love of the father as I am writing this comment it doesn't matter how people treat you it matters how you. Treat them I was commanded by god to forgive not only the people who swore five years of my life away but to forgive everyone I had a neace and a nephew shot and killed in cold blood not to mention that my brother was killed and the guy who was. He was guilty of alcohol and drug use and not having control in memory of his movements. He could have done it, can't be sure. if he was a good guy he would have gone home after the family party. Partying at clubs and bars overuse of alcohol, see how he downed those drinks?, and drugs is nothing new to him. IF YOU put your life in a situation than your situation becomes part of your life. Guilty or not I'm glad he did prison time.

One of the most moving films relating to false convictions and how you must stand up and rise to your own beliefs, if you are truly innocent. However, the relationship that developed between Will and Jimmy signifies how the universe somehow knows how to bring people together for survival in various situations. I would rate this movie above an A++.

The Song "Rise" really got to me ,I was in 13 foster homes growing up and 3 prisons for petty things , but I found myself and I'm a lovely bloke just never believed in myself .I now have a really good job and buietifull family . life's definitely a journey .God bless everyone out there "PEACE"
This movie reminds me exactly what i went through, after dating a girlfriend for almost 3 years, she accused me of rape case which took me almost 700days behind bars to clear my name after being sentenced to 10yrs. I had a successful Appeal, thanks to God Almighty anyway i forgave her.
At the end of the movie when he said goodbye to that disabled man, I felt so sad and I felt like my heart broke in two 😢. In short, an incredibly beautiful film.
Very moving true story. Nathan Wilson incredible as was Martin Sacks. A true story of collusion to put someone behind bars and to "Rise" above it, changing lives of people within prison and making friends is truly inspirational. What must the director have gone through. A heart-warming, extremely sad and emotional film drama. Beautifully directed and well told "as it is". Very brave. Thank you for letting us in. Hell yeah i went through that before but am glad they handle that shit fast because that shit not no joke. I live in Memphis T.N , i went to Nashville with my friend andd he vista sum girl's he knew now everyone was take pills and smoking weed so everybody being freaky now these girl's were Thots . but one girl really liked me so we had sex but after that me being young i went on to the nexts girl so she got mad , so a few hour's went by i was sleep when all of a sudden the police woke me up saying u have been clam of raping a girl so i ask what are y'all talking about i didn't rape nobody and i told them everyone was taking pills and smoking weed and having sex. So they took me downtown and took he to the doctor but they found nothing like she tried to stop me from having sex so they held me until they ask everyone in the house did they hear her screaming they said no she wanted to have sex with him she really liked him she even said that's her man and nobody better ask like they want him but they said they started laughing at her but i was taking a bath so i didn't hear her saying that so went i came out i started talking to her friends , but her parents ask like i was the biggest criminal alive after a few days being with murders real rapist they ask me did i want to take a lie detecter test i said yes and i pass it but they ask her to take one to she said no but they told her if she doesn't take one theu cant hold me , so she told them the truth and they let me go but they ask me if i wanted to press charges on her but her parents wanted to talk to me so i listen to what they had to say they wanted me to not send they baby to jail , so i told them y'all just wanted me to do life but i didn't send her to jail i just took my ass bacj home and never put myself and that position again.
What a beautiful and touching film. Those grown men made this grown man cry... tears of sadness, and tears of joy. For all those who have been wrongly convicted as I once was; my heart goes out to you. Hang on, God is with you.

The part in movie where Will told Jimmy what was worth the risk, about the satisfaction of ocean waves and results of such power..... It sticks with me, Like something clicked in Jimmys mind. Opening up the Devine thought being there are some sweet, majestic, Powerful things in , Jimmy never considered the thoughts of achieving such GLORY, I think this was a very eye opening moment for Jimmy to consider, my goodness he yet had so much life to live. Most people in jail are not guilty....they had bad lawyers who were paid by the State to "Mis"represent a person and bully them into a plea agreement under threat of a long prison term. 85% of incarcerated people don't belong there. It has turned into a numbers game with lots of money made and jobs for people. The whole system is rotten to the core. I hope your Son is out or will be soon.

Been thru many battles in my life mistakes losses lies that made me hurt too, always believed in never backing down no matter how things and ppl can get me down ... This movie, that final quote... Not only fuelled my fire to survive and rise again at all costs, but also reminded me how important kindness and forgiveness can b alongside strength. I will not forget this movie easily....
Haven't been sued by a liars twice in a life time, once over a barter arrangement and once over my property, I am fully aware of the injustice that goes on in our court system. I can only imagine all the innocent people that get hurt from the system while liars and criminals are favored.
I am a young girl 20 years of age and this movie made me break into tears i still fail to understand how does someone ruin one's life and continue like nothing happened.I mean it was so hard for me to report someone who did really rape me ,because i was thinking of his family especially the thought of seeing someone's mother another woman cry because of me i had to be assisted to understand that's not my fault.I used to be angry feeling like the justice system is slow towards my case but they investigate so long,because of cases like this ,because of Woman out there doing this vicious things.Rape is not joke and one who lies about such a traumatic experience must not only be punished for the poor innocent soul's life being ruined but for the torture of lying about such a horror that many of us are fighting so hard to forget and let go of. Lord help your people ...
I almost turned this performance off but decided to give it a few more minutes and wow, Iam I glad I did. I became entranced withy the way Will worked his may through the other prision imates and became friends with many of them. A remarkable story and film.
What a GREAT movie with so many lessons for life. Many governments have built the "rape charge" into their legislation, NOT because they care so much about the alledged victim, but because it's one of the easiest ways to remove targets from society, and funnel them into the prison industrial complex.

brought me to tears. so many prison movies and this one hit. i did a couple years at a young age and u actually meet some solid guys in there. great friendships that end up lasting a lifetime. wen u live together and fight for eachother it creates a bond that u wont find elsewhere and this movie brought that to life. mindblowing how well done this was.

This movie is very touching after being in the prison system and turning my life around. It's not an easy road either way you travel from such a low point as when you're in prison. First you have to adapt and survive and do your time. I've seen people come out and go both ways but only one way to survive after that you have to look up to rise....
This was so beautiful that I cried. Love and hope is what I got from it. Especially to reach love from a friendship that was so incompatible, Jimmy was a tough guy; Will was a little soft but they learned/ respected each other. Sometimes people come into your life for different reasons.❤

Feeling I had people swear against me and sent me to prison for five years for thirty dollies as a result I lost my wife and family my job and my life teaching world history at Clay County high school in Manchester Kentucky however the lord Jesus Christ was with me serving that time he never left me or turned his back on me I am now a born again Christian. I was born into the church of god in Christ in louisville kentucky I can feel the love of the father as I am writing this comment it doesn't matter how people treat you it matters how you. Treat them I was commanded by god to forgive not only the people who swore five years of my life away but to forgive everyone I had a neace and a nephew shot and killed in cold blood not to mention that my brother was killed and the guy who was. Responsible didn't spend a day in prison I. Strongly identified with this movie it wad if will was living the same experiences that I lived. If anyone wants to text me about my. He was guilty of alcohol and drug use and not having control in memory of his movements. He could have done it, can't be sure. if he was a good guy he would have gone home after the family party. Partying at clubs and bars overuse of alcohol, see how he downed those drinks?, and drugs is nothing new to him. IF YOU put your life in a situation than your situation becomes part of your life. Guilty or not I'm glad he did prison time.

One of the most moving films relating to false convictions and how you must stand up and rise to your own beliefs, if you are truly innocent. However, the relationship that developed between Will and Jimmy signifies how the universe somehow knows how to bring people together for survival in various situations. I would rate this movie above an A++.

The Song "Rise" really got to me ,I was in 13 foster homes growing up and 3 prisons for petty things , but I found myself and I'm a lovely bloke just never believed in myself .I now have a really good job and buietifull family . life's definitely a journey .God bless everyone out there "PEACE"
This movie reminds me exactly what i went through, after dating a girlfriend for almost 3 years, she accused me of rape case which took me almost 700days behind bars to clear my name after being sentenced to 10yrs. I had a successful Appeal, thanks to God Almighty anyway i forgave her.

A true story of collusion to put someone behind bars and to "Rise" above it, changing lives of people within prison and making friends is truly inspirational. What must the director have gone through. A heart-warming, extremely sad and emotional film drama. Beautifully directed and well told "as it is". Very brave. Thank you for letting us in. Hell yeah i went through that before but am glad they handle that shit fast because that shit not no joke. I live in Memphis T.N , i went to Nashville with my friend andd he vista sum girl's he knew now everyone was take pills and smoking weed so everybody being freaky now these girl's were Thots . but one girl really liked me so we had sex but after that me being young i went on to the nexts girl so she got mad , so a few hour's went by i was sleep when all of a sudden the police woke me up saying u have been clam of raping a girl so i ask what are y'all talking about i didn't rape nobody and i told them everyone was taking pills and smoking weed and having sex. So they took me downtown and took he to the doctor but they found nothing like she tried to stop me from having sex so they held me until they ask everyone in the house did they hear her screaming they said no she wanted to have sex with him she really liked him she even said that's her man and nobody better ask like they want him but they said they started laughing at her but i was taking a bath so i didn't hear her saying that so went i came out i started talking to her friends , but her parents ask like i was the biggest criminal alive after a few days being with murders real rapist they ask me did i want to take a lie detecter test i said yes and i pass it but they ask her to take one to she said no but they told her if she doesn't take one theu cant hold me , so she told them the truth and they let me go but they ask me if i wanted to press charges on her but her parents wanted to talk to me so i listen to what they had to say they wanted me to not send they baby to jail , so i told them y'all just wanted me to do life but i didn't send her to jail i just took my ass bacj home and never put myself and that position again.

Most people in jail are not guilty....they had bad lawyers who were paid by the State to "Mis"represent a person and bully them into a plea agreement under threat of a long prison term. 85% of incarcerated people don't belong there. It has turned into a numbers game with lots of money made and jobs for people. The whole system is rotten to the core. I hope your Son is out or will be soon.

Haven't been sued by a liars twice in a life time, once over a barter arrangement and once over my property, I am fully aware of the injustice that goes on in our court system. I can only imagine all the innocent people that get hurt from the system while liars and criminals are favored.
I am a young girl 20 years of age and this movie made me break into tears i still fail to understand how does someone ruin one's life and continue like nothing happened.I mean it was so hard for me to report someone who did really rape me ,because i was thinking of his family especially the thought of seeing someone's mother another woman cry because of me i had to be assisted to understand that's not my fault.I used to be angry feeling like the justice system is slow towards my case but they investigate so long,because of cases like this ,because of Woman out there doing this vicious things.Rape is not joke and one who lies about such a traumatic experience must not only be punished for the poor innocent soul's life being ruined but for the torture of lying about such a horror that many of us are fighting so hard to forget and let go of. Lord help your people ...

What a GREAT movie with so many lessons for life. Many governments have built the "rape charge" into their legislation, NOT because they care so much about the alledged victim, but because it's one of the easiest ways to remove targets from society, and funnel them into the prison industrial complex.
I was in prison for 20 years it is so easy to get somebody with a rape charge.

this movie made me tears,i remember my brother he was lock up in the jail by accusing..thanks to be god but the Truth can't hide forever.and now he got his freedom and getting married now
Damn that ending with his disabled friend almost got a tear. I mean one eye watered a little. It’s dry in here. Good movie
brought me to tears. so many prison movies and this one hit. i did a couple years at a young age and u actually meet some solid guys in there. great friendships that end up lasting a lifetime. wen u live together and fight for eachother it creates a bond that u wont find elsewhere and this movie brought that to life. mindblowing how well done this was.

whoooahh , what an exceptional man . Leading actor is a great actor , very charismatic . looks like a young Matt Damon , very attractive and mesmerising to watch him get totally lost in this role . Look forward to seeing him in other films . Well cast and beautifully portrayed . Well worth at least one watch ! The cell mate he was in charge of, brought tears to my eyes

*Is just me or anyone who think that guy who played Will, he looks alike **#LeonardDecaprio**! Beautiful true story movie! It break my heart but also its given us lesson to stay in faith! Beautiful friendship! Be kind to everyone because everyone is fighting their own battles...its not how many times you fall but how many you will rise..such an encouraged man wisewords! Did I heard **#StandWalker** voice singing at the ending when Will & Jimmy met at the beach? My fave **#NewZealand** singer! Stay in faith to those in-mate who doesn't deserve to be locked up..I can feel the pain deeply cos I just got through this about 1 of my dear sibling..but he is free now from last October and it feels like all those chain on my veins it been released since he's freedom and I've been spending all my money and energy and tears for him...but is worth it...so to Y'all who got a family or friends or anyone close to you been locked up in prison, just keep the faith and dont stop believing because miracle will touch your life sooner or later that you'll never imagine before...since that I've been watching most of the story about jail...it breaks myheart cos anything can happen inside..cos even when I am free but I feel like I am in prison in my mind just like him and thats what you felt if you ever get through something like this...* 😢😢 *But Thank God, all I know is “Our problem is so big that we cant even handle it but just remember that GOD is bigger then our problems so keep faith....love from Bali and sending Y'All Merry Christmas 2019 and Have a bless New Year 2020!* 🙏💙

This movie is very touching after being in the prison system and turning my life around. It's not an easy road either way you travel from such a low point as when you're in prison. First you have to adapt and survive and do your time. I've seen people come out and go both ways but only one way to survive after that you have to look up to rise....
My mom does a prison ministry and I couldn't b more proud of that! Love this movie! Love Jimmy and Will! And the guy in the chair goes without sayin!

This was so beautiful that I cried. Love and hope is what I got from it. Especially to reach love from a friendship that was so incompatible, Jimmy was a tough guy; Will was a little soft but they learned/ respected each other. Sometimes people come into your life for different reasons.❤
