Join me as we continue to tackle this once seized up Honda XL185s engine and try to make it into something worth the kick. PART 5
In this video we will be reassembling the bottom end with fresh bearings and some crispy....slightly worn parts. Can we make this bike fully functional under $1500? I am definitely going to try!
Enjoy
NOTE This video is not meant for a direct copy to help assemble a similar model engine. During this video the manual that was being used was not the correct version and some descriptions I mention relate to an XR185 - XR200.. Little bit different model but close enough for me to work with.

I like to restore, or conserve bikes. The hardware sets are great for bikes that you run alot, but Honda still has most of the hardware new for those that want to keep the factory look.
I HATED ... how much I enjoyed the video :) . Been a while since I've popped into the channel - love the content man. Keep it up!
Hahaha thanks for taking the time man. Means a lot!
Lowe your channel . Good tips and no nonsens
Thanks man! That means a lot. Thanks for stopping by for the view!
You do a great job on your videos. Even a non-mechanic like me can keep up.
PERFECT! Thank you!

Great video man !
Thanks bro!
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you.
Great informative video thanks, I might have a go a rebuilding my Honda Transalp 600v in the winter so this boosts the confidence a bit!.
Woof thats a big motor! Best of luck!
Cracking informative video Cody. Spot on!!
Thanks man!
I'm rebuilding an XR200 which has the main bearings slip fit into the cases similar to this engine. Is it normal for them to drop right in with no additional encouragement? What's to stop them from spinning in the case?
Great video, thank you
Hey i have a 1995 Honda Shadow VT600 and need to know the float level settings
I’m having a stutter at low rpm’s when giving throttle it’s a new carb what might be the issue
08:30 these are brand new bearings??
So you put the case halves together with a dry gasket? I can never put a cover on without at least a thin film of non-hardening gasket sealer such as Hylomar. I just can’t. No balls I guess.
Hahahaha! Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. I haven't had a case gasket leak on me with or without. The only real benefit I have seen with sealant is that it makes it a heck of alot easier to scrape them back off. Really hope I will not being that anytime soon!
It’s a 99 Vulcan 800
Hey Cody! I need some carb work for my cb750 nighthawk. 4,000 on the bike. Would you be interested? If so let me know. Bike has a K&N and a Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust. Stock airbox. So it will need to be jetted. Let me know. I sent you an email week ago. Take care.
Hey man, for whatever reason I haven't seen your email? Send it again! Let's talk!
Ok I'll send you an email
