Join me as we continue to tackle this once seized up Honda XL185s engine and try to make it into something worth the kick. PART 5
In this video we will be reassembling the bottom end with fresh bearings and some crispy....slightly worn parts. Can we make this bike fully functional under $1500? I am definitely going to try!
    Enjoy
NOTE This video is not meant for a direct copy to help assemble a similar model engine. During this video the manual that was being used was not the correct version and some descriptions I mention relate to an XR185 - XR200.. Little bit different model but close enough for me to work with.

I like to restore, or conserve bikes. The hardware sets are great for bikes that you run alot, but Honda still has most of the hardware new for those that want to keep the factory look.

I'm rebuilding an XR200 which has the main bearings slip fit into the cases similar to this engine. Is it normal for them to drop right in with no additional encouragement? What's to stop them from spinning in the case?
    Great video, thank you

So you put the case halves together with a dry gasket? I can never put a cover on without at least a thin film of non-hardening gasket sealer such as Hylomar. I just can’t. No balls I guess.

Hahahaha! Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. I haven't had a case gasket leak on me with or without. The only real benefit I have seen with sealant is that it makes it a heck of alot easier to scrape them back off. Really hope I will not being that anytime soon!

Hey Cody! I need some carb work for my cb750 nighthawk. 4,000 on the bike. Would you be interested? If so let me know. Bike has a K&N and a Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust. Stock airbox. So it will need to be jetted. Let me know. I sent you an email week ago. Take care.
