Good video, The Jacksonville FD did a good job. Beach communities are scary because the houses are so close together. I feel badly for the young woman who lost her cat.🐱
Other comments on our first responders are so negative. I feel so horrible about the cat. I have many animals as well. I live on a mini farm and love them all. Thing is, our first responders save lives every day. I can't stand when others slam them on their job. It takes a special person with a huge heart for a job like this. And a lot are volunteers. Can anyone on here fill their shoes???? 😢😢😢
Good initial attack.. man power and hand lines in operation knocking down fire and at one point almost seemed to be under control…but we’re there not any ladder nozzle trucks?? I mean if everyone is blocked because if down lines allowing the fire to spread fast….get some elevation, surround and drown. Overall great work & communication.
My biggest issue from what I could see and hear was the constant PASS alarms in full alarm, I understand they will be chirping and going off often but the amount going fully off is concerning, as if they get used to the sound it could cause issues if someone is actually in trouble and it gets ignored as just another guy not shaking his device, otherwise it seems it was handled as decently as it could for the situation, sad about the kitty but unfortunately by the time Firefighters were even able to get on scene the smoke alone was probably too much for the poor cat, not much that could really be done sadly
@@thejfrd2490 so? You shake the PASS device, it’s not that hard, and if you are just “standing around” you have time to move your hand a few inches every few seconds, it’s the complacency that’s the concern here, if you get so used to the sound when an actual emergency is happening you could EASILY ignore the sound thinking it’s just another guy not shaking his device out of laziness
Main comment after watching a few of these is the editing needs to be much better. Difficult to understand what is going on. Noted same in previous video fully involved Alpha 2nd floor, then out, then fully involved again. Seems to be pieced together randomly. So much of the time it did not appear the ladder truck was putting water on the roof that was still actively burning. Other than that, firefighters seemed to be aggressively engaging structure. Video coverage was difficult to discern what was actually going on. Do you have a dedicated POI to record the responses to fires? Seemed like a good response to the scene.
"Difficult to understand what is going on." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Agreed. With the radio traffic and camera placement it was hard for me to figure out which was the C side and which was the A side. Toward end, it seemed like the camera was pointing to the C side, with the main fire opposite, on the A side. But that was just a guess.
You are the only one that seems to feel this way...but will take it into consideration... what's a "POI"? Obviously we have someone recording the responses.
The audio and video are not linked...the audio is from the start (most important information available) the video starts when I get there (we are a big city, 845 square miles) it takes time Thanks for you input.
@@thejfrd2490 Been a while since I viewed this video and had to go back and watch it again to figure out what I was picking up on. Sorry about the "POI" that was supposed to be "PIO" Public Information Officer. Maybe that's why I thought it was confusing, as a lot of moving parts in firefighting. Still, I believe it was a positive response to this fire.
Just an estimated 2 feet (60 cm) of space between the two fire buildings??? How can it be? In Germany NOBODY would be issued a permit to build a house like this!
@@stevehamman4465 6ft. = 0,90m. That should be OK. In this video the two houses on fire were much closer together, so the flames just jumped from the right building to the exposure to the left!
this is very common in beach buildings.. and in cities.. when I lived downtown yesrs ago i could open the window from my bathroom and touch the house next door with my finger tips.. the houses I lived in were built in 1920's.. the neighborhood i live in now was built in 2004 and there is 6-8 US feet between most of the houses..
Most of that fire was coming out the back. Probably an alley behind the house. Most engines and trucks won’t fit down an alley. Hence the reason their deckgun couldn’t probably reach. Another keyboard warrior that decided not to tactically think through his comment.
@baylorsmith5610 very observant...actually on the beach. But the roads in front are very narrow and tight... the statement from @mandyomally4896 are very ignorant and an attempt to get attention and feel important. Not a clue as to what they are speaking of.
@@thejfrd2490 I love watching y’alls videos. Fast, aggressive, and a TON of fires. I work for Joplin MO, but I’d love to get to come down to FL and work for JFRD. That would be a dream come true! You guys do great work!

Thanks
So very sorry about the lady losing her cat in this fire. I love them also and can't begin to comprehend the horrible pain that she went through. ❤️
We don't like any loss of life.
im sorry about loosing her cat to because my dad has 16 cats and i love them all
Thank you for your hard work JFRD and all other involved.
Thanks for watching
Thank you JFRD. Always.

Really good job guys. Some ballsy line work going on there. Excellent line work
It was a tough one
Job well done 👍. Thank You JFRD 🇺🇸❤️👩🚒

Excellent video!!! tough conditiopns great work to keep this limited to 2 buildings!!!

Good point...issue with that was location...it was a very tight and narrow beach road which allowed ladder movement to be difficult.
I’d like to know what caused such a large fire 🔥
I believe it was electrical
Nice video ---- Debbie
Thanks Debbie----Eric
Stubborn attic fire!
It was more than that...but for sure.
Was that a roof over a roof I wonder? Good job JFRD.

please...this is common at fires that are defensive...lots of standing around

Most codes in US are 3ft from property lines. So 6ft from structure to structure, not sure .
