Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department responds to gymnasium commercial building fire on westside

JFRD responded to a reported commercial building fire which turned out to be a gymnastics gymnasium just before midnight.
Crews arrived on scene to heavy fire from the warehouse style building. An offensive attack was initiated in an attempt to save half the building, but crews inside determined the growth of the fire was stronger than their efforts and pulling out of the structure was the safest decision with no life hazards.
From there a defensive attack was orchestrated by command using ladder pipes, ground monitors, and deck guns. To which the fire was knocked down and then mopped up.
Please be advised...this radio audio is NOT in sync with the video, but we included much of the audio so you can listen to command run this fire and orchestrate a safe ending.
No injuries were reported from this fire...unfortunately, despite our best efforts, this building was a complete loss.
The cause of this fire is being investigated by the state fire marshal at this time.
