Love that the last thing Han does is touch Kylo's cheek, perhaps the least Han thing ever, and so much can be said from it, "it's ok Son, i forgive you, I love you, I'm sorry I let this happen to you, Goodbye," So much from a small gesture of love
Is anyone else disturbed by the uncommonly high number of walk ways and balconies with little or no safety railings in the Star Wars Universe? I'm guessing that OSHA isn't a thing in a galaxy far, far away.
Chewie’s scream is so sad to hear because of the pain in his voice but Chewie shooting Kylo and then going into a full on rage was the coolest part, I mean how he shoots Kylo in the body was amazing
I love how Chewie is just like “rawr” mother fucker and shoots him in the ribs. Could have gone for the head but at the same time that’s like his nephew.
I remember being in the theater on opening night and this made everyone scream in horror. I’ll never forget seeing the look of disgust on my Dad’s face. I lost it when Chewie howled because it was a giant “F you” to him and all the fans who grew up with the originals. This was the moment Disney killed Star Wars.
Well Harrison Ford killed Star Wars then. Not Disney. Ford would not do the movie unless they killed Han. He wanted a big death scene since ROTJ and he got his wish ...😂.
My version of this scene? Chewie roars so long, loud and with such horrific ferocity that everyone freezes in terror, Kylo included. His eyes turn black, and we get to finally see a Wookie let loose.. He becomes an unstoppable monster, just tearing everyone to pieces. It’s the ‘hallway’ Vader scene he and honestly Han deserved.
The Sequels were bad, but I watched this in Theaters, and the loud ass noise of his lightsaber igniting, the room illuminated red, and I saw Han with a lightsaber through his chest, that just caught me off guard. I really didn’t see it coming, and it startled me more than most horror movies. I thought an OG like Han Solo would’ve been given plot armor, not killed like that. Either way it was shocking, and one of the few things the Sequels did good.
Originally Lucas thought of killing Han off in RotJ, thinking it was a great way for Han's redemption cycle, but he chickened out in the end, not wanting anything to take away from Vader's death, I think.
Ben Solo didn't think or care that his mother would sense him killing his father before he would later try to get the rest of his family all because of Snoke, who turned him to the dark side.
Han, Leia and Luke up there with Logan, Dobby, Jack Dawson, Boromir, Tony Stark, Mufasa, Aslan, Erin Jaeger, John Coffey, Bambi’s mom, Littlefoot’s mom, Rue(HG), Rogue one (all), little red Jacket girl in Schindler’s list, Bruno and Shmuel, Prim(HG), Obi-wan and so on You’re all in TV heaven now, rest well (Feel free to add more names)
say what you wan't about the movie or the sequels but this scene is a masterpiece and it's symbolic the blue light on han side represents the light side , hope and shows that kylo has doubts , that he's confused, shatered betwen anger and regrets the red light on kylo side represents the dark side it means that there's no hope that it's over and when kylo gets closer to han the blue light disapears showing that the atempt to bring ben back isn't possible anymore and then kylo kills han and the music IS great as well
Back in 2015 I was sitting in the theater knowing it wasn't going to end well when Han went out on the bridge. 😕 Even then, I didn't usually shed tears over fictional deaths, but something about a father getting lured in and murdered by his mentally unstable adult kid who he was trying to help really got me emotionally. It felt unnatural and twisted, yet it also made me curious about just wtf was wrong with this new villain and how dangerous he might become to the other heroes, if he could do this to his own parent all for some weird goal of appeasing this mysterious Supreme Leader character and pushing himself further into the darkness. The creepy vibes that Kylo gave off during his interactions with Rey also made me dread what he might do in the future, after she rejected him and sliced his face open. I thought he'd return with more dark side training and a huge chip on his shoulder, and really fuck things up. ... Yeah, I didn't like how the rest of the trilogy watered the whole situation down. They basically went "Kylo did nothing wrong, he just needed a nice girl to show him the power of -boners- uh I mean love, now all of his mental/personality issues are cured" and called it a day 🤦♀️

So what do you say, would this be something that would interest you? Because all you have to lose is that you already hate it right? But think of what you could gain. @methraccoon I did and I'll say the sans thing I've said Arnott such things. Revisions happen. That's part of the movie making process. You can have one idea going in and then better ideas come to light and you go with that. Criticizing a creative team for making revisions, is the sans vibe as getting mad at an artist for using an eraser or even staring over. They really aren't a failure. While the rest of us enjoy all the stuff coming through KK, you can go ahead and pout all you like, hating is a choice. Fans are enjoying it just fine and will continue to do so.

I never noticed that Kylos expression goes from pain to what appears to be shock that Chewie shot him.
Chewie’s reaction broke me so much…that’s how I felt when Padme died.
1:19 2:14 i love chewie so much and this makes me cry. And chewie gotta be one of the best marksmen there is
Love that the last thing Han does is touch Kylo's cheek, perhaps the least Han thing ever, and so much can be said from it, "it's ok Son, i forgive you, I love you, I'm sorry I let this happen to you, Goodbye," So much from a small gesture of love
I don't know why but it's chilling to hear chewie scream when han was about to fall
Maaaann, when this scene happened, i was in a packed theater opening weekend and the whole crowd collectively screamed in both sadness and anger.
Is anyone else disturbed by the uncommonly high number of walk ways and balconies with little or no safety railings in the Star Wars Universe? I'm guessing that OSHA isn't a thing in a galaxy far, far away.
1:17 The echo affect of the cave made the sound of the lightsaber ignition and thrust more startling...Even Chewbacca's roar was magnified...💔
Gftfffffggggggggghhggjhggji
Chewie’s scream is so sad to hear because of the pain in his voice but Chewie shooting Kylo and then going into a full on rage was the coolest part, I mean how he shoots Kylo in the body was amazing
I love how Chewie is just like “rawr” mother fucker and shoots him in the ribs. Could have gone for the head but at the same time that’s like his nephew.
Chewie R2 and C3PO have gone through too much
This is the moment in the theaters where I cried
Chewie was not having it when he saw his long best friend die
Everyone has days where they feel like killing their dad. It's important not to act on it.
Just realized that this was the only time Disney made someone die because of a lightsaber stab
The only thing i was thinking in that moment was poor chewie :(
I remember being in the theater on opening night and this made everyone scream in horror.
Leia felt Han’s death and the amount of emotional pain and regret their son (Kylo Ren) was feeling for what he did.
2:20 chewbacca turns into a quick scoping badass
The first time I saw this in the theaters I shattered with tears😢
😲😨😱
It’s one of these scenes that show that Kylo has no heart, and only shows revenge,so that’s why Kylo ren is so toxic as a villain
2:13 Translation:
“THIS IS FOR HAN!”
Han Solo didn't die, Kylo Ren just sent him to the shadow realm.
Thank you!
Chewie Is A Total Badass
One of the very few good scenes of the sequels. Still hurts to this day
Embarrassed to admit but I still cry every time I watch this scene. This one one when Han goes into the carbonite get me every time.
Love how Chewie just started blasting 💥
Plot twist: Chewbacca was sad that he had to stay with Rey and Finn
i feel you chewie
One of the only times the sequels actually made you sad by trying to make you sad.
My childhood died when watching this in theater. Never again will a movie death hit this hard
Han, Leia and Luke up there with Logan, Dobby, Jack Dawson, Boromir, Tony Stark, Mufasa, Aslan, Erin Jaeger, John Coffey, Bambi’s mom, Littlefoot’s mom, Rue(HG), Rogue one (all), little red Jacket girl in Schindler’s list, Bruno and Shmuel, Prim(HG), Obi-wan and so on
You’re all in TV heaven now, rest well
(Feel free to add more names)
I love seeing Chewbacca going on a rampage. It's understandable, but that was badass.
damn these movies had so much potential it's just frustrating
i almost cried at this scene.
Real talk, I know it's disney, but Chewie should've went savage and rip those troopers apart.
Because Chewie was depressed.. I thought he was gonna go into beast mode and literally maul Ren!
say what you wan't about the movie or the sequels but this scene is a masterpiece and it's symbolic
the blue light on han side represents the light side , hope and shows that kylo has doubts , that he's confused, shatered betwen anger and regrets
the red light on kylo side represents the dark side it means that there's no hope that it's over
and when kylo gets closer to han the blue light disapears showing that the atempt to bring ben back isn't possible anymore and then kylo kills han
and the music IS great as well
The fear and betrayal on Han's face has always made me cry
They basically went "Kylo did nothing wrong, he just needed a nice girl to show him the power of -boners- uh I mean love, now all of his mental/personality issues are cured" and called it a day 🤦♀️
You *really* missed the message, my man. By miles.
@@cerebrophage7709 Aight, homie. Explain the amazing, complex message of this inconsistent and badly written trilogy. Surprise me.
@@meth_raccoon I will, I would be happy to, but I need to know that you're sincere and wanting to hear my perspective on why the series is awesome and I need you to watch two videos for me. Would you be interested in that? It would serve as a preface for my perspective and more of a primer so that when I go to talk about something you will have reference material for what I'm talking about. I am imagine that you have watched plenty of anti sequel trilogy films already. These two videos that I am thinking about are a total of 40 minutes. The first one is around 8 minutes and the second is around 30 minutes and I think you would like them because they also include content from Star wars theory. So what do you say, would this be something that would interest you? Because all you have to lose is that you already hate it right? But think of what you could gain. Wouldn't it be nice to actually see the sequel trilogy in a different light that could really perhaps not resonate with you per se, but instead, give you a new appreciation for it, isn't that worth 40 minutes of your time?
@@cerebrophage7709 Unexpected update: Have you heard about that recent interview in which Adam Driver confirmed the character's redemption was not even a planned thing? Yeah... When they made TFA, the intention was for Kylo to be a reverse Vader (something Abrams himself even said at some point IIRC). He was going to become a progressively darker villain throughout the trilogy, not whatever he ended up turning into. 😭
Business don't survive on bad decisions. Disney recognizes when something isn't popular. Think about this: Lucasfilm, under KK is about to release another new show, a 4th season of mando, a rey movie and some other things, too. While the rest of us enjoy all the stuff coming through KK, you can go ahead and pout all you like, hating is a choice. Fans are enjoying it just fine and will continue to do so.
Say what you will about the sequel trilogy, but Chewie shooting Kylo was the most satisfying moment in the last 3 movies
This scene is better than the whole last Jedi film
The best part of the film, principally because it's just about the ONLY original thing in the story to distinguish it from New Hope!
Damn chewie going rambo
Chewie Was Unhinged 💯
Chuwie turns into a gang member, bro started poppin shots 😂
2:14 chewy: YOU SON OF A!😡🔫
How could he say that about his friend who was also his partner and that he rescued with Han and Luke
Then he shoots Kylo's doodle
"I didn't kill Han Solo, Wokeness killed Han Solo"
- Adam Driver.
It's Sad To Think That Ben Looked Like He Was Gonna Turn Good But The Darkness Took Over
He was never going to turn good. He intended that the whole time. The thing was, he also knew that he had to get close to Han to have a chance with Chewbacca nearby, so he feigned being conflicted. Watch again, you can see that he's starting to move towards Han the second he saw him, and made sure his saber was RIGHT where he needed it, without tipping Chewie off.
Out of Rogue One, Solo, 7, 8 and 9 this and the Darth Vader hallway scene have to be the best ones by far
Agree. Fitting that they come from the only good movies
1:17 Chewie lost his childhood buddy
He met Han at 192
Beat me to it lol @@theCantinafan
Worse, he lost his life debt. Chewbacca was HONOR BOUIND to serve Han. Losing him made Chewbacca a failure in the eyes of his race. He LOVED Han, but worse is that he failed him at the most crucial moment. He'll be beating himself up for not seeing the obvious betrayal coming from light-years away. (Possibly 12 parsecs!)
@corjonbett Chewie is not a Gungan lufe debts are not in his culture.
@theCantinafan Yes they are, look it up[. Han saved Chewie from being an Imperial slave, so Chewie owed Han a life debt.
That was great 👍 ... awesome music and editing
Ben deceivingly hands his lightsaber to Han (0:42)
Ben manslaugters his dad (1:17)
Chewbacca howls in anger (1:19 - 2:14)
