Dr. Sidious You need great scene partners to play off. Daisy perfectly matches him. And the scenes between Rey and Finn and Poe and Finn are equally exceptional. No one person is responsible for making or carrying a film. Nevertheless Driver is a brilliant actor.
At this point the best ending to the trilogy would be for him to achieve galactic domination and rule it with Rey in a duo-monarchy and for the Jedi to die.

I just saw all the sequels for the first time like a week ago and I already thought damn this is sexual af, they definitely will be a thing in the later movies. How did people not see the not so subtle innuendos and the flirting and the clear change in Kylo's tone and behaviour towards her compared to the rest. The kiss in TROS felt soo right. I can't believe so many people missed their obvious chemistry throughout the three movies and thought it felt forced.

It shows him as a flawed character, he helped kill so many people. Rey knows that but she understands why he is the way he is, they both had similar upbringings only he went a different path, Luke was the last straw. Everyone can relate to two good people (like Finn and Rey) falling for another and making it work, but that would be too vanilla. This is SW ffs! People want to see something more than the average fairytale ending. The dynamic of a couple so opposing in ideals and thinking, where their common ground would lie, who would change to accommodate the other is so much more interesting. Which in the Ben did. He went from someone who killed their own father, destroyed the jedi temple and his own peers and friends because they didn't agree with him, did whatever he wanted to get his way, to someone who gave whatever was remaining of his life force not even knowing if Rey would appreciate the gesture or be romantically interested in him.

It's hard to exactly set up a good argument here, since this is a very subjective topic. I find Reylo very unhealthy in relationship standards. Man kills thousands, helped kill trillions, strapped Rey into a chair and entered her mind, which made her extremely uncomfortable(look at her face), almost killed her and her friends, the first thing he does when seeing her again is try to mind trick her. Almost rams into her with a Tie, commits more genocide, almost kills her on the Death Star Ruins, and then he does one good thing, and all is forgiven. Once again, this is subjective, but I'd much rather prefer the vanilla, unoriginal romantic ending, than one that is (imo) abusive and toxic.
Agree as well! The way Daisy shows Rey trying to keep Kylo out of her head, and her delivery of the line "Get out of my head!", plus Adam just making Kylo having a bit of fun as he is searching into Rey's mind. These two are awesome!
Holy fuck this is phenomenal acting - Rey’s eyes were filled with tears but she held all of them in UNTIL he started invading her mind - Rey first made up the resolve to fight back, and later found the method to fight back; you can see the moment Kylo felt her pushing back - You can see how Rey started from just resisting Kylo, and then started tugging on a thread to enter his mind, and Kylo’s shock at the rapid, unprepared escalation So brilliant and so so smart. Makes so much sense that people get super invested in the characters, despite the shaky plot

@LokiTetch Men aren't less attractive when women beat them. When anyone beats them. The word 'emasculated' is stupid. You don't have to be the most powerful to be hot, but actually, the way the Force works, she's supposed to beat him. She's meant to be his balance. Skill wise, he still beats her. In the Last Jedi during their battle together he took most of the enemies on himself, and could fight a larger group at once. That's due to experience. Their power in the Force isn't dictated by experience though, she's just powerful. And he's still attractive.

He's very gentle with her in this scene. I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to hurt her. If he wanted to hurt her, he would've treated her like he treated Poe, but he didn't. And he said "Don't be afraid, I feel it too" which makes me think he was comforting her.

It's wartime, he needed the information, and he was actually surprisingly gentle compared to the sheer brutal force we know he's capable of.
Watching "The Force Awakens" after seeing "The Last Jedi" makes me appreciate the interactions between these two even more because it's simply one of the best things in the new trilogy...

It's ORIGINAL master.

Even if she were a 'daughter' there is literally NO WAY she can have THAT amount of Force ability with no training. She's a clone of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. One more thing,.I'm gonna take a arab at the as yet unreleased title of episode 8. STAR WARS: Episode 8 (The) ORDER OF THE FORCE.
Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley are phenomenal and have some of the best, if not the best, chemistry out there. The literally turned an interrogation scene into a conflict full of sexual tension.
They really did, they are amazing actors. Lots of subtlety going on too. The way Daisy makes it look like she’s pulled slightly forward with the Force, then pushes when she starts probing Kylo’s mind, and then that little jump at the end when Kylo pulls back out of her mind. Top notch acting from both 👌

Agent Of Vengeance I don’t think she does yet. At this point in time, she hates him more than anyone, I think he’s got a thing for her right now actually. Not until she sees conflict in him does she actually start to tolerate him. When she believes he hasn’t become truly evil, she starts to want to help him see the good in him. When he ends up not turning to the light, she is upset with his decision. If you’re asking why viewers him attractive it’s most likely because they find Adam Driver attractive and will find him attractive in any situation, and it’s acting, keep that in mind. And it’s not just women who think Adam Driver is attractive, it’s anyone who finds Adam Driver attractive, who will think he’s attractive.
It's the way he is so calm! When he talks to Rey there is also a touch of gentleness to it. If you notice throughout the movies it sounds different when he is talking to Rey!

That "Force Dyad" thing in Episode 9 does give more justification for how the novice Rey can get in Kylo's head. If they're really bound together by the Force, then the attack on Rey's mind was actually and inadvertently a two-way connection. While trying to open her mind, he couldn't help but open up his mind to his "soulmate" at the same time.
When Poe is interrogated: Blood all over him, was clearly tortured Kylo uses the force on him so strongly that his head hits the back of the chair When Rey is interrogated: No torture whatsoever He didn’t wake her, he let her rest “You’re my guest” “Don’t be afraid I feel it too” REYLO!!!!!
I fucking love how she shuts up when he takes off the mask. Like her words start to mean something when she can see his face. So great. Love this scene
When Kylo took off that mask... everyone in the cinema started making noises and shouting. Then one girl shouted "He's fucking gorgeous" and everyone cracked up.
I love that small little ragged exhale he does after he realizes that Rey just read his deepest insecurities without resistance. It's a "Holy shit...what just happened?" kind of reaction and I love it so deeply because Adam acted it without a word. He is the king of subtle face-acting. Half of Kylo's character is seen in his actions and words...but the other half of his character is all in his facial expressions. Brilliant acting regardless of how you like the character.
If you go to 3:22 he let's out the first shaking breath and the second one is a barely audible horrified breathed out 'No"...... Blew my mind when I heard it just now. All this time...... Turn the volume up loud. Listen. Watch his lips also. It's actually at 3:25 but 3:22 will give time to prepare the ears. He's TERRIFIED.
Is it me, or does Adam Driver seem to know the perfect moment to use brilliantly subtle body language? Just the right touches. Watching this again I'm loving how when he says : "Tell me about the droid." and Rey starts rattling off technical details.. Kylo just lowers his eyes as if to say "Not THAT.... tell me about the map..."
+Jeong Park Lee What I like about that moment is he says so much with just a look. He doesn't get angry and start yelling, demanding information. He just indicates what he wants with a simple eye movement. Even the line: You know I can take whatever I want.... I interpreted that line as: "You know I can take whatever I want... I can take the information I need from you. I don't want to hurt you to do it, so make it easy on yourself and give me the map...." He doesn't want to hurt her, as evidenced by how gently he treats her in comparison to Poe Dameron.
irisheyes317 Well, as the old saying goes.... the eyes are the windows to the soul, and Adam's eyes are very expressive. They can say a lot with just a look. On the bridge I can see a ton of emotions in Kylo's eyes. Grief, surprise. shock...maybe even wonder.
It's interesting to note she's not in the regular interrogation room where Kylo encountered Poe. She's in his private rooms, as verified by JJ Abrams himself. Take a look at the scene where Kylo speaks to Vader helm. Exact same room. Kylo's room. She really is his guest, and he took great care to ensure no one else but him handled her. I'm so curious to know what was going through his mind as knelt before her, watching her sleep. (:
I think he sees her as his last chance at peace and love in a way. He's a completely conflicted character for reasons we don't know right now. But he knows both of them are strong in the force. And he feels a kinship to her that he shows to no one else. When she tells him to get out of her head, he immediately does. His mission collides with his deep emotional longing for companionship. And he wants, deep down, to drop all of this and embrace her. The problem is, Rey sees him as a monster, an evil creature who deserves nothing but death. The relationship between these two is going to be very interesting going forward.

And those that do see it, think it's the same sort of "weakness" Snoke does, when in fact his care for her will likely be his greatest strength. Possibly even surpassing that of Force Rage, because we all know love is the most powerful motivator men face when ultimately defeating enemies that threaten those they love, even in this universe.
+Rodney Burton Death and the Maiden isn't a trope for cousins, and they wouldn't be giving sexual subtext to them by mistake after the Luke/Leia disaster. Also, all force sensitives are tech savvy, not just Luke and Anakin. And the force vision has Obi Wan's voice in it as well. The reason it calls to her is because of her force bond with Ben (all of which are lovers in the EU). There's even the whispered "it's Ben" whispered right after Maz tells her to take the saber and she flees w/o it, denoting her connection to isn't familial, but force bonded.
This is one of my favorite scenes from any movie ever. It is an acting masterpiece. The way Adam portrays Kylo's gentler, subtler anger when talking about Rey's "friends". The way he holds it just beneath the surface. The teasing confident "you're my guest" and "you know I can take what I want". The smooth- almost comforting- "it's alright, I feel it too." The casualty in "tell me about the Droid". His fascinated "you still want to kill me". The way he gets lost looking into Rey's mind, letting his guard down slightly. Then losing it completely when she reached into his mind. And the little wavering breath that Adam does at the end is beautiful! And Daisy! The confidence she eludes when calling him a monster that is destroyed when he takes his mask off. How quickly she tries to regain it. The skill it takes to portray such mental torture, to show resistance! The way she struggles, the short throaty breathes and snorty grunt are so natural. Absolutely beautiful! That's why it's my favorite. Daisy and Adam have BECOME kylo and Rey in this scene. They act so naturally. Truely magnificent skill.
the way they styled him is very deliberate to provide a greater contrast with his exterior/mask and remind us that he's still very young. Adam isn't anywhere near this hairless or boyish-looking in his other roles, and they actually braided his hair to make it wavy. the attention they paid to his hair really gets me...it's like a Pantene commercial when he takes off the helmet

The dynamic of a couple so opposing in ideals and thinking, where their common ground would lie, who would change to accommodate the other is so much more interesting. Which in the Ben did. He went from someone who killed their own father, destroyed the jedi temple and his own peers and friends because they didn't agree with him, did whatever he wanted to get his way, to someone who gave whatever was remaining of his life force not even knowing if Rey would appreciate the gesture or be romantically interested in him.

It's hard to exactly set up a good argument here, since this is a very subjective topic. I find Reylo very unhealthy in relationship standards. Man kills thousands, helped kill trillions, strapped Rey into a chair and entered her mind, which made her extremely uncomfortable(look at her face), almost killed her and her friends, the first thing he does when seeing her again is try to mind trick her. Almost rams into her with a Tie, commits more genocide, almost kills her on the Death Star Ruins, and then he does one good thing, and all is forgiven. Once again, this is subjective, but I'd much rather prefer the vanilla, unoriginal romantic ending, than one that is (imo) abusive and toxic.

- Rey first made up the resolve to fight back, and later found the method to fight back; you can see the moment Kylo felt her pushing back
- You can see how Rey started from just resisting Kylo, and then started tugging on a thread to enter his mind, and Kylo’s shock at the rapid, unprepared escalation
So brilliant and so so smart. Makes so much sense that people get super invested in the characters, despite the shaky plot

That "Force Dyad" thing in Episode 9 does give more justification for how the novice Rey can get in Kylo's head. If they're really bound together by the Force, then the attack on Rey's mind was actually and inadvertently a two-way connection. I love that small little ragged exhale he does after he realizes that Rey just read his deepest insecurities without resistance. It's a "Holy shit...what just happened?" kind of reaction and I love it so deeply because Adam acted it without a word. He is the king of subtle face-acting. Half of Kylo's character is seen in his actions and words...but the other half of his character is all in his facial expressions. Brilliant acting regardless of how you like the character.
If you go to 3:22 he let's out the first shaking breath and the second one is a barely audible horrified breathed out 'No"...... Blew my mind when I heard it just now. All this time...... Turn the volume up loud. Listen. Watch his lips also. It's actually at 3:25 but 3:22 will give time to prepare the ears. He's TERRIFIED.

It's interesting to note she's not in the regular interrogation room where Kylo encountered Poe. She's in his private rooms, as verified by JJ Abrams himself. Take a look at the scene where Kylo speaks to Vader helm. Exact same room. Kylo's room. She really is his guest, and he took great care to ensure no one else but him handled her. I'm so curious to know what was going through his mind as knelt before her, watching her sleep. (:
I think he sees her as his last chance at peace and love in a way. He's a completely conflicted character for reasons we don't know right now. But he knows both of them are strong in the force. And he feels a kinship to her that he shows to no one else. When she tells him to get out of her head, he immediately does. His mission collides with his deep emotional longing for companionship. And he wants, deep down, to drop all of this and embrace her. The problem is, Rey sees him as a monster, an evil creature who deserves nothing but death. The relationship between these two is going to be very interesting going forward.
+Phil Buckhouse I couldn't agree more. What's annoying is the fact so many don't understand what's going on here. And those that do see it, think it's the same sort of "weakness" Snoke does, when in fact his care for her will likely be his greatest strength. Possibly even surpassing that of Force Rage, because we all know love is the most powerful motivator men face when ultimately defeating enemies that threaten those they love, even in this universe.

+Rodney Burton Death and the Maiden isn't a trope for cousins, and they wouldn't be giving sexual subtext to them by mistake after the Luke/Leia disaster. Also, all force sensitives are tech savvy, not just Luke and Anakin. And the force vision has Obi Wan's voice in it as well. The reason it calls to her is because of her force bond with Ben (all of which are lovers in the EU). There's even the whispered "it's Ben" whispered right after Maz tells her to take the saber and she flees w/o it, denoting her connection to isn't familial, but force bonded.
This is one of my favorite scenes from any movie ever. It is an acting masterpiece.
The way Adam portrays Kylo's gentler, subtler anger when talking about Rey's "friends". The way he holds it just beneath the surface. The teasing confident "you're my guest" and "you know I can take what I want". The smooth- almost comforting- "it's alright, I feel it too." The casualty in "tell me about the Droid". His fascinated "you still want to kill me". The way he gets lost looking into Rey's mind, letting his guard down slightly. Then losing it completely when she reached into his mind. And the little wavering breath that Adam does at the end is beautiful!
And Daisy! The confidence she eludes when calling him a monster that is destroyed when he takes his mask off. How quickly she tries to regain it. The skill it takes to portray such mental torture, to show resistance! The way she struggles, the short throaty breathes and snorty grunt are so natural.
Absolutely beautiful! That's why it's my favorite. Daisy and Adam have BECOME kylo and Rey in this scene. They act so naturally. Truely magnificent skill.

the way they styled him is very deliberate to provide a greater contrast with his exterior/mask and remind us that he's still very young. Adam isn't anywhere near this hairless or boyish-looking in his other roles, and they actually braided his hair to make it wavy. the attention they paid to his hair really gets me...it's like a Pantene commercial when he takes off the helmet
