From after school flyer collecting at biting back records and probably the same under 18 raved at woodville halls and trips to lyd airport to grimey sessions at atomics and all the big venues and races in between. I wouldn’t change a thing about the raving back then because here’s nothing like a esso sold ice cold ribena 6 am after dancing all night. at 43 now tho I’d take home before midnight 😂 can’t waste a Sunday in bed no more, got kids to take to clubs, lawns to mow and all the shite that comes with adult life.

Met my missus raving, 17 years ago, some of the best times of my life raving, travelled the whole of UK with accelerated culture, one nation, raveology, random concept, I do one a year now and usually a jungle rave as the essence of the oldskool is still there, maximum respect all ravers😎😎😎
Back the day you could have worn the mask from your profile picture to a rave an everyone would have gone nuts seeing you plus the highviz

@DJPHANTASY yes, and don't get me wrong I enjoy them, just not as much as the 10 till 6 as you miss some of the key bits. Lights on at 6. Coat queue. Cab home when the sun is coming up and the streets comes on the cabbies radio.
Funnily enough, me and my bruva was talking about this exact subject the other day then you lot were discussing on here.

For me, 2000-2005 were the best years for raving. The Sanctuary Milton Keynes was the one 👌🏼👌🏼

@@SaSaSaSDnB agreed. My daughter is now raving and I let her and her pals now the differences now. She will always say todays raves r better but little do they no 🤣🤣. That being sed I agree wiv ur comment both have there plus’s and both have there faults 💯👊🏾. Overall raving is a part of my life and now my kids so love to all ravers old and new ♥️

Germany is one of the best places in the world for Drum & Bass, some amazing events over there. and still going string

When I was doing hardcore raves, I had a bouncer search and we had a quick chat. He said to me and said, I rather deal with people on drugs then people pissed up. He said there easier to deal with and hardly caused trouble compared to piss heads. When I use to rave I loved all night. But now I'm older I can't do all nights anymore 🤣. So definitely prefer earlier earlier times or days now.

My question is why hasn't the scene in the UK moved on like Europe? Look at World Dance, Helter, United Dance, Elevation ect compare the production to now in the UK. Now look at Rampage for example. 35 years later and the late 80's to mid 90s it seems to not moved on.i was one of those at slammin/helter raving to both styles of music. I'm going Andy C at the o2 next month I expect next level production and vibes. Big up all original raving crew.
This is a question we ask ourselves all the time. European events have bigger budgets and also they get sponsorship, here in the UK there is hardly any real sponsorship. But we feel you, imagine those types of raves here in the UK... this could be something to discuss on a future pod
It's a no brainer for me a raver would much rather an early rave there was something special about the rave scene in the beginning the unity love an the heir of unknown that surrounded the whole event the goosebumps of standing in line waiting to get searched horn in hand. Obviously I see the benefits of today's scene for the artists there's more money to be made the larger festivals and more clubs around and drum n bass being accepted on a larger scale and not being Hidden down some back street but to me it was at its best underground
Yea I hear you. The problem is in 2023, there are not as many clubs about as there used to be. Its such a sad thing, the amount of venues that have closed down. We are going to do a pod just about these iconic venues.

To anyone who doesn't understand the older ravers opinion towards the scene and why we go on about it in such high regards should watch the film Human Traffic it best explains the whole working towards Friday and nothing else matters. Not so much the genre of music but the way it worked

Raves became shit in 1994 when the pills became shit and MC's starting shouting drivel down the mic like they are doing still to this day to dnb.
Choose your rave carefully and you can have a good laugh . Otherwise you could end up with a lot of awful head ache mcing and rubbish music
