  • @samsunghvacAmerica Hylex™ outdoor unit installed great. The old system was gas, with the Hylex™ we are now dual fuel with heating capacity down to -13F (-25C), 100% rated heating capacity at 5°F (-15°C) outside temperature.

I live in Phoenix AZ and would like to hear how quiet it is running AC. Please run that for just a few minutes so I can decide if I want to put one in for lower sound db levels.

Literature says 50 dB as opposed to 60 dB (typ), which won't really help you understand the noise, unless you deal with equipment all the time. About as loud as a laser printer or quiet refrigerator. Think the normal noise in most houses. I live just outside Phoenix and I can usually hear the AC kick on. 50 should not transmit through a standard house wall. Insulation matters here. If it's next to a window, I think you would it. Frequencies will affect this, as well as the individual ear. I have done a lot of HVAC specification and system design. I would not spec this for an industrial application, but for light commercial or residential, it's seems like it's worth comparing to other equipment. Ask for performance data for the local temperature. Phoenix summer is at or near the edge for heat pumps.

AC and Heating should be similar sound.

Is it possible to use RLS fittings instead of brazing with this unit?

Wouldn’t be very convenient given the length of that tailpiece
