      This is a biased video in most regards. To start with AMD GPU's didn't compete, let alone defeat nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 or upwards GPU's, which were the GPU's used to compare ampere GPU's. AMD however always compare itself to intel and happened to beat the 10th gen intel laptop CPU. It's only fair intel returns the favour

      RDNA2 on the upcoming AMD 6000 Series will compete with RTX 3070 and RTX 3080. For the RTX 3090 AMD will have no answer to yet.
      AMD will increase core count to up to 64 cores and 128 threads and there is a rumor of a 128 cores 256 threads CPU, but as someone already mentioned, improved clock speed and IPC to up to 4.5Ghz with a boost to 4.7Ghz on the AMD side.
      Even though Intel is scared off AMD after Intel released their 11th Gen i7-1185G7 15W & i7-1185G7 25W as an answer to AMD Ryzen 7 4800U, the 4900H is still kicking ass as seen on a video from Hardware Unboxed.

      @Imman1s 4 года назад +1

      @@johngaltline9933 No, comparing it with the 4800U is fine, since they were the same class of CPU based on power. The 4800U is a 15-25W part, the i7 @#$@7G is a 12-28W (numbers are from memory, but should be close enough), so they are direct competitors in the same segment. Even a closer match like the 4900HT at 35W, is a completely different class and would decimate Intel's part since is made of "golden" silicon and competes directly with the 45W 4800H, so is unfair to compare them, even if the intel samples floating around do boost at around 35W.
      The other thing is that at the same power envelope, a 4 core 8 thread CPU like Intel's is going to win some times, since the AMD ones will have to share that power with double the cores and threads. AMD could counter with a high clocked 4300U.. but those are conceptually the bottom of the barrel in silicon quality and don't have enough Vega cores to be competitive. So is unlikely we would see an apples to apples comparison in this generation... at least in this specific market segment.

      It's like Ford and Holden(subsidiary of GM) in their power wars here in Australia before they both went belly up. Ford couldn't match the GM V8s and so claimed that the power figure doesn't matter, and it's about delivery and smoothness, etc. Then Ford gor their hands on Jag's V8 and a supercharger, and suddenly overtook Holden. Ford's rhetoric about power not meaning anything suddenly shifted, and then Holden started saying that the number doesn't matter.

Intel taking it down struck me as a moronic penny pinching thing to do that wasn't worth the dubious savings (It's INTEL, they can afford the infrastructure to store a few dozen gigabytes of old drivers, bioses, and documentation!) for the goodwill it cost them amongst enthusiasts. And the security flaws? Well, this is what happens when you stick with variations of a single micro architecture for a decade (or more, I've seen some arguments that these flaws go back to the Core 2 days)!
