This only just appeared in my area in the States. I get wood, nutmeg and eggnog.

Regarding your relative distaste for Martinican agricole versus some other cane juice rums, I’m wondering if one possible explanation is the prohibition of rectification in the Martinique AOC. Leaves a lot more of those volatile compounds in the rum…

I recently tried Rhum Barbancourt 8 year Reserve Haitian which is 100% sugar cane and am in love with it as a sipper! And here in NY, it’s like $30.00.

Cheers Adam! We don't really get Barbancourt here in the UK. Only the very odd Bristol or TBRC bottling.

adding this one to the list, i want to get a map and put pins where i've tried rums from on it, definitely love to see you try the rum fashioned you mentioned, or just comment below ;)

I wouldn’t do it, I drink neat rum. So I don’t need to add sugar to my Rum, so rarely if ever drink Rum Fashioneds. But it was just an example 👍

50×1.75= 87.5... if you wanna see proof wuth ABV..JUST MULTIPLY your ABV WUTH 1.75..

Proof these days is just Double the ABV... 50% ABV = 100 proof. 40% ABV = 80 Proof. It was a very long time ago... like nearly 200 years ago... that Proof was different.

@@StevetheBarmanRumReviews 200 years seems too long ago.. I'll have to double check, but I'm fairly certain UK still used this definition of proof (using 57% ABV as 100) till 60s or even 70s.. :)

If I remember right, the Rumcast guys were expressing doubt about that number, and someone from the company followed up to insist that it was right. The wide temperature ranges apparently contribute to that evaporation.
