    In college two things matters
    -Can u afford it.
    -which one burns the least
And old monk get straight A+ in both.
One falls in love with old monk in their early 20s because of the above two reasons and continues to drink it later on some to freshen up old memories. Nobody in their 40s try old monk for first time.
I am sure every country got a similar Poison like old monk which u can drink when college time drinking buddies get together.

costs about 5 Dollars for 750ml in India... cheap & cheerful & India's favourite drink is Old Monk with Coke with a Lemon wedge

The Legend is the Most Pleasant Tasting and no hangovers of any
The Best Tasting and the most Famous Indian Rum is a Privilege to drink. Some people
Who are reviewing it dont know the wonderful history of Old Monk Rum, It is in the Indian Army and Lifestyle since 1940s. The Legend is the Most Pleasant Tasting and no hangovers of any, the kick is smooth and slow, So you can start enjoying from the Second (Large)Peg onwards.....:) ...The best ever rum. All Bacardis and McDowells of the world give a synthetic feeling while Old Monk's appeal is so natural, and so close to heart.

haha, great honest review. I think we Indians just love it as its really accessible and cheap, and therefore its like a gateway drink for most people in their youth. At the price point they sell in India its really impossible to offer quality. try some Indian malts tho, they can give some from Scotland a run for their money

I'm partial to an old Cragganmore when I can get it (which isn't very often), while Dave loves Port wood influenced Glendronach.

hahaha that is absolutely an accurate review of old monk. the thing about generic spirit being flavoured was such a good comparison. i would just add that not many people drink it as is, usually water and coke masks that syrupy flavour.
edit: when he started twisting the cap i knew exactly what happened 😅 those caps are horrendous. the number of times i've had an unsealed bottle spill in my bag...

The way Robert Patterson from Balvenie suggests to have whiskey with water...Add water to your rum and I guess it will be good/ok

Lol! More old monk!? Why do this to yourselves? There's still so much good whiskey out there... Rum as well. Some of my favorites to try and review: any of the Foursquare aged/finished rums, Brugal 1888, doorlys 12/XO. To name a few. Would be curious your take on ardbeg corryvrecken as well.

This stuff not only sounds terrible, it looks terrible. Guys, why are you drinking this stuff? There's so much awful rum out there. Seriously, get some rum from the independent bottlers. Hunter Laing, Berry Bros, Cadenhead's, Duncan Taylor...etc. Like their whisky it is not messed about with and can be every bit as good as quality whisky. 55 points. Thanks guys.

Welsh Toro i swear it looks n tastes amazing. Not this particular bottle. Just google n u can see the other basic bottle.its beautiful.

    • @gamingsingh4004
      @gamingsingh4004 5 лет назад +4

Well a 750ml bottle of it cost around $4-6, now think about what can u buy at that price and which ones of those can u drink ?
Because of the sweet taste it’s easier to drink with added water in it. So new drinkers of college buys it
It a choice of college students who cant buy single malts i dont think college students anywhere in world can buy expensive stuff, majority cant.
It later became part of their memories and even after finishing college and being able to get all the fancy alcohols u still once in a while drink old monk for old times sakes to freshen up those college memories.
