    I needed to hear this but still clueless.
    Anyone want to tell me if I have a problem? I'd be grateful.
    Serum Iron 26.4 but think higher now.
    Ferritin 40
    Folate 10
    TIBC 54
    Sat Iron binding 54
    All another language to me.
    Leukocytes 1
    Ige 93
    Maybe I need to not eat the steak before the test.
    I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome

      Hi yes it can be challenging to sort all this out but the more tests you do the easier it gets. Iron saturation if above 45% is high and red meat or iron supplement before the test would spike it. That’s the point in retesting. If it remain high then you need to find out why. Hope that gives some clarity 😉

      Carnivore, so that's probably why.
      Thank you for taking the time to reply. I really, really appreciate it. 🙏

    What does it mean if feritin is low but iron saturation is high?

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  4 месяца назад

      Well I think the video addresses this somewhat. What u need to find out is why iron saturation is high and moreover is it consistently like this

      @@swintegrative Maybe I missed something? I heard you talk about high iron but I still don't understand why ferritin would be low but iron high.

      @@elisabyler3421 There isn't one single reason there are lots. You have to look for what causes each problem separately. For instance if someone as hemochromatosis but donates blood every month (or is having blood loss for any other reason) they will have low ferritin but still have high absorption (high iron sat). if someone has temporary increased iron absorption from one test (coincidently due to iron supplement red meat etc) you might have artificial spike in iron saturation. Bottom line you need multiple tests and a doctor to help you diagnose the problem.

      Hi mate thanks for the video's.. when having genetic haemochromatosis is the goal to also get saturation down or just keeping ferritin low ? Finding it hard to find much info on saturation when most things focus on ferritin. Thanks again

    Unrelated question, but what does it mean if I eat a milk chocolate bar and my glucose levels don't spike ?

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  4 месяца назад +1

      It means your glucose levels does not spike after eating a chocolate bar... haha JK. I would assume that means you are producing lots of insulin to compensate (which is the normal response but the question is how many units of insulin did your body need to produce to get that into your tissues) or it could also be that you consumed it after some exercise or close to exercise. There could be a lot of reasons for this but I will stick with these as the top ones.

      @@swintegrative That would make sense. I had little to no exercise. I just wonder what would cause my insulin to keep being so high? Keeping my glucose very low.
