I love this subclass. But I don’t tie them to the far realm - they are just the next step in human evolution.. the X.. I mean Aberrant mind.

This was the subclass that made me care about the sorcerer.

Personally, I love this subclass for the psionics, not the far realm bullhockey. The Tasha's sorcerers are the best because of the extra spells. Sorcerers in general are very thematic and lend themselves to a specific theme. But most subclasses don't have enough spells known to make that happen. Take storm sorcerer. Because of subclass abilities, you need to focus on thunder and lightning spells. But there are other spells that fit the theme you will never take. Sleet storm, for example. And to correct you, base sorcerer gets only 15 spells over 20 class levels. They stop gaining new spells at level 17. After that, they have the option to swap out spells for new ones and most of the subclasses get wings or a flight speed at this point, but they don't get any new spells. It's a crock! Wizards can make slotted spells into cantrips during this point (and still get 2 new spells per level for the old spellbook). I really wish the writers would explain the rationale for making sorcerers the wizards idiot brother.

My first thought after "friends with a Flump" was Drow child who's fiendship with Flumps was the only reason he didn't turn out rotten.
Its like that story of that one child who was raised by wolves and was feral.

I'm not really a sorcerer fan but I'll make an exception. I really really hope the dungeoncast starts doing advice on spell casting and maybe even spell combos like one of my favorites entangle then spike growth

I am currently about to play a one shot, where I am playing a kobold rune knight/aberrant mind who got their psychic powers as a result of living in the lair of a sapphire dragon and for the sake of context, is a rune knight after impressing a clan of stone giants with their well made rat traps and was taught runic magic to make their rat traps better.

I just started playing an abberant mind sorcerer in a campaign and he isn't tied to the far realm but his magic came to him from being experimented on. Him and a bunch of other drow children were kidnapped from the underdark by a circle of magic users trying to harness pure magic energy and magic from powerful beings (like dragons, beholders, demons) and shove it into a person and pretty much brainwash them into magic super soldiers. So I chose abberant mind because he was literally injected and tortured with pure magical energy and that messed with his mind and his soul.

I like that you guys are doing the new crit role characters, even if you don't realize it. One is a wild fire druid, one is an aberrant mind sorcerer. You should do the other three odd ones. Travis willingham is a shifter bloodhunter werewolf, one is this new chaos barbarian thing I've never seen before, and another is an undead warlock sorcerer with aspect of dread. It's weird. The last dude is just a battle master, but a battle master is not a slouch character.

I feel when people think of warlock they think fiend warlocks due to the deal with the devil trope I don't know that just me .

I thought he was thinking about the Great Old one. And there is a lot of Lovecraftian creature that are aberrant and do the psychic thing in that path.

I have a character I’ve always wanted to play. Aasimar Aberrant Mind Sorcerer whoes radiant light is flavoured more on The Colour from Outer Space. My backstory is maybe their parents had a trist with a mysterious celestial entity while out fishing on the lake one night, only to find a child washed ashore or delivered to them later. Something kinda Bloodborne meets Insmouth ish

Wizards gain a total of 44 spells through out 20 levels ,at lvl 1 its 6 then 2 per lvl . 6 +(19×2)
sorcerer's game 15 throughout 20 levels . Usually, Tasha's sorcerer's gained a bit more. Sorcerers are designs play the role of magical artillery, which they do really well.
