Twisted Metal III Spectre Pure Lunacy Speedrun

- This is now my 2nd fastest speedrun of Twisted Metal III by car (behind Club Kid, which I don't ever see changing). Spectre is one of my favorite cars to play as in this game because the sense of speed you get from him is incredible. Unless you are frozen or tip over, you can get out of any jam with him.

Spectre was always my favorite on this mostly because it was the Viper. But I was so bad back then that I had to rely on Minion 😂😂😂 But Jesus man…. you’re really good at this!!!

I will EVENTUALLY, but it sucks because Grimm is one of the worse cars to speedrun this game with unfortunately.

And he killed the two vehicles in the game with the heaviest armour - Auger and Warthog
Did Club Kid spam tons of his special attacks to kill those enemies at North Pole or something?
Yeah that was exactly what happened. Club Kid spams his special a lot on pure lunacy, sometimes even when you're not nearby (as was the case here). Club Kid is a true wild card in that he can help you get a fast time, but he can also cause an instant reset if you get caught in his vortexes.
@@LumberjackCagemaster Do you use an emulator, or do you play on console?
Also, I’ve noticed that Mr. Grimm spams his special a lot on pure lunacy mode as well. I’ve seen him in videos of other TM3 runs where he’ll shoot several skulls at someone all at once or almost all at once.
@@davidfoshee1914 I play on console, since I have copies of all the twisted metal games. As for Grimm, he's absolutely terrifying on pure lunacy for the reasons you stated. I genuinely consider him a sub-boss because the speed he rear attacks is like TAS-bot level, just flat out unfair. Not even the bosses fire as fast as him.
wisht they would make another one or even a remake of 2 & 3!

What software did you use to play this?
I play these games on real hardware, so I was using a slim PS2 for this with a capture card.

Hey how come you chose not to use the lightning in north pole?
Genuine oversight. For some reason I forgot that regeneration had already happened, so I thought there'd be one more opponent after the last one.
Hey could you give me some tips on how to beat the game on hard this is so much different than other tms
Besides things like using the dpad combos and fighting smart, it is most important to keep the AI opponents from recovering health in pure lunacy. Even if you don't need health, take it, because otherwise a CPU will take it. Health regenerates at regular intervals in this game, so if you get all healths for a given map, you'll know which ones are going to return first.
@@LumberjackCagemaster yeah I was actually catching on to that and I made it to level eight and almost beat the game they are so aggressive it's crazy
Is there an exploit used for the blimp?
Yeah. With most cars you can go straight to the main switch in the red room and destroy it without having to do all the other switches. You need to drive into it at a high enough speed and launch a missile at just the right time to do it.
@@LumberjackCagemaster i read so.ething tryingnro find it, and it said it works if you have infinite special... but that just didnt seem right since you did without cheating
@@mackdee911h3 I never heard of that, and it doesn't make much sense to me. A lot of the specials you can't do it with anyway. (Auger, Club Kid, Outlaw, Axel to name a few)
@@LumberjackCagemaster also, if you stack enough lightning, with the aid of a bomb or ricochet, you can zap enemies out the top of the blimp. (this also can happen in Egypt if the eye hits at the right angle)
Ps : Mr.Grimm ain’t my favorite but fighting him is so much fun , his way of fighting is a sight to see and absolutely relentless in that rear attack I love it so much

TM3 gets soo much hate mainly because of the animation of characters and stories I get it I won’t really argue that . But the gameplay was so good and faster paced and challenging , the controls of driving was better than 2 ( though 2 is god tier ) but 3 hits home for me , the characters when fighting them are unique in their ability on how they fight you and will kill you so much faster instead of being cheesed in 2 . And don’t get me wrong I love 2 a lot but they’ll cheese your ass to death lmfaooo love 1,2,3 and black they’re Goated in my book .
