I didn’t get a video of the pups going through that pet door. But here’s a video of some other dogs going through a few other pet doors I’ve installed. ruclips.net/video/kqV1R6N-Kkk/видео.htmlsi=wSE4LVytYY6BhqWr
It’s intimidating for some folks to cut through a brick wall, but If you follow the steps outlined in the instructions that come with the premium pet door, you’ll be in good shape. www.outdoorpetsolutions.com/store/product/premium-pet-door

After I cut the inside hole, I drill through to the outside from the inside. I do this 4” from the top and 4” from one of the sides of the interior hole. I can then transfer the measurements to the outside by measuring from the hole 4” up and 4” to the side. I hope that makes sense. The pet door comes with complete installation instructions. Feel free to reach out to me through my website anytime and I’ll be happy to help you through the installation. Adam- Outdoor Pet Solutions
Wouldn’t water from the brixk weeping get into the exposed insulation where the sheathing was cut? Thanks for advice. Looking to do this for my pet. Thanks
The pet door manufacture doesn’t address this in the installation instructions. There is typically a sizable gap between the brick and the inner sheathing. When you install yours, you could purchase a roll of rubber membrane/vapor barrier and seal up inside of the wall cavity before installing the steel tunnel.
I offer 3 different wall model pet doors in 10 different sizes. So the cost can vary depending on the model and size that the customer chooses. Also it depends on the location. The further out I need to travel the cost can increase. If you’re in the Nashville TN area and would like a quote, here is a link to my website. You can enter in your dogs measurements and I’ll email you a quote. Thank you. Adam- Outdoor Pet Solutions www.outdoorpetsolutions.com/pet_door_quote
@@outdoorpetsolutions Sorry, Guess I should have clarified. I'm in Arizona. I was just curious how much the example in the video would cost the average person.

@@outdoorpetsolutions Actually, I do repair work here in Phoenix and I was wondering what you charge to give me an idea of what I might be able to charge for a similar job. I have installed several pet doors in the past, Just don't know what the going rate is.
My suggestion would be to charge your normal hourly rate to complete the job. Plus the cost of the pet door. I have been in the business for a while and have completed a lot of installs. So a typical through wall install takes me approximately 2 hours plus drive time. But the first few times you do it, will probably take you a bit longer. I would also suggest reaching out to a pet door installer in your area such as Apollo Pet Doors. Ask for a quote on installing a pet door and that will give you an idea of the market rate in your area.
Sorry for the late response. If you drill out the 4 corners you’ll have blow out that the frame of the pet door won’t be able to cover. It is best to drill a pilot hole in the center of your pet door and then transfer the measurements from that point.
Thank you for the question! Openings less than 3 feet wide do not typically require a lintel. This opening was only 11 inches wide. The steel tunnel and the exterior and interior steel frame provide excellent support of the brick as well.
@@outdoorpetsolutions Also, that particular brick wall is decorative. The wood studs inside the home is what is holding up the roof so it's not even a structural brick wall.
Thank you! I wanted to see the doggo go through it!

@@outdoorpetsolutions great idea. Thanks for the advice and video!
My pleasure
We are looking to fit a cat flap through the wall next to our bi-folds. Were the vibrations of the cutting tools a concern for the glass?
In my experience, Nearby glass windows and doors have not been affected by the cutting tools.

Why not just drill 4 corner holes through the back end then cut? Could maybe save you some time measuring the brick. Genuinely curious

@@TeamCuellar Yes sir. Newer homes with exterior brick also have metal brick-ties that secure the brick to the framing of the house.
