Pokémon, Bayonetta, and Final Fantasy would probably be the most difficult to have contracts with. Star Fox would probably be fairly easy though given Legends of Chima was a thing and I doubt there would be as much of a problem with manufacturing molds and pieces with all the Sonic the Hedgehog and now Animal Crossing Minifigures and pieces being a thing. Some slight alterations would be pretty sufficient given Lego's experience with animal molds increasingly becoming more advanced and complex while still being good quality.

As I know from my sister there are many different types of villagers you can have on your island and people always have specific ones that they prefer and try to get.

  • @BenChurchill76
    @BenChurchill76 Год назад +9

As an Animal Crossing player and fan, as well as LEGO, this makes me happy. At first I was a little underwhelmed by the design of these sets, but for the price and target, it makes sense. They also have compromised in the designs a bit, probably as a necessity for general LEGO piece constraints. Which means some things have to be a bit more LEGO than Animal Crossing in this case, such as tools, flowers, fruit. It gives the right impression, but is not a 1:1 match. Still, that's what also makes it kind of cool. I hope the theme does well, because now I'd love to see some other seasons represented in future sets, like a winter and fall scene. In this initial set, at least Julian's Birthday is set in Spring, with the cherry blossom tree, and the lighter grass. So, a "phase 2" could include some cozy fall and winter sets.

In Bunny's Outdoor Activities, the stick the minifig is holding on to looks like a play feature. In Animal Crossing, there's a feature in game where you can use a stick to polevault over water. Given the position, it looks like it has that feature on there. Definitely kudos to the designer that designed it so simply but elegantly.

I think he meant it more in terms of set design and how it's targeted towards a slightly younger audience. The fable (likely namesake for fabuland) has been with use for far longer with examples in Europe and Japan. Although I would love if two of my interests were more closely linked!

I can't wait for these to come out and i really hope we get the town hall, able sisters and the museum too at some point.
also they have to make a minifigure series for this right? like that's perfect, it would be so weird if they didn't. especially with how good all the figures look. can't wait to get isabelle and fauna.

Fabuland was the first thing I though of as well when I saw these sets. As a fan of the games, I have to say, these look amazing! All the little details with the printed pieces is just great. If they really wanted to cash in on this theme, they would do blind bags. There are more than 400 different villagers in Animal Crossing, and there are a ton of fan favorites that many people (myself included) would jump at the chance to buy.

Yeah, the timing seems way off, but I've learned IP and corporations don't always sync with ideal times. My guess Nintendo's primary goal was the Super Mario X Lego collab to help cross promote the amusement park in Universal Studios and the movie. Ideally, they should have come out with some Tears of the Kingdom sets since the game also has a building component.
I do get the Fabuland vibe same as the Hello Kitty vibe. I can see it being a less expensive alternative to Friends. That theme ballooned in set size and cost going from lemonade stands to space camps complete with 4 stage rockets.

But adding Isabelle is great. I'll have to check them out and consider the lego sets. The house visit might be a cute cameo in my city.
Good question on housing size Jang. That is personal preference. In the video game they are adorable small outside, but larger inside with an instance zone load. That isn't really possible to do in Lego as you can't magically change instances/zones in real life lol.

The Tardis nature of the houses is tricky. makes sense to go with the outside scale as the game has but that does limit your furniture options inside.

I’m hopeful that since the Mario sets had zero stickers, that maybe this will follow suit. It’s most certainly possible that maybe Nintendo would prefer it that way, and if so, I think the inflated prices might be slightly justified if there are no stickers.

I can see Lego make a Animal crossing CMF series in the summer of 2024. seeing as there are a ton of fan favourite villagers. Also surprisingly. they did not give us the Player character, in any of these sets. It would be interesting if Lego would make this an actual theme, and not just a one off batch of sets. There are plenty of things they could make into sets. They should make Town hall for starters. Able sisters are also great to have. Maybe even a Creative style set. where you can design your own house and villager. and with Happy home resort being a thing there's even more potential scenes lego could make sets out off.
I be fine with them just leaving it at these 5 sets. but there is a breath of options for them to pick from for future set ideas.

I cannot wait to see Isabelle being used as a Darth Vader stand in while Darth Vader takes a vacation in the island.

I've never even heard of Animal Crossing. But I'm all in favour of more animal-based mini-figures. Hopefully they'll give us enough different animals that we can do a Wind in the Willows diorama.

Just recently got into ACNH and I'm so surprised that Animal Crossing is getting a Lego set! Hope we get some random character packs, would love to collect some characters in Minifigure forms.

LEGO has been killing it this year, with Sonic sets, LEGO Dreamzzz, and now Animal Crossing!
