When I was 16 I built(back when r/c cars were not rtr, and a 1hp nitro was very new along with the 2 speed transmission. It was an HPI nitro racer with all the bells and whistles, 1hp with that purple tuned CVEC pipe, ball bearing differentials, it had everything, spent about $1500 on it. Anyway that went 70mph, doing that was insane! Pretty cool they have electric ready to runs doing that now. Electric wasn’t really that good for Speed then, it was all about nitro power. That was 20 years ago btw. Still have the car too.
I used to race the HPI RS4 also. I ran a 2 HP Novarossi motor and 68 mph was our fastest top speed. When we went to 1/8 scale nitro, we all could hit 70-75 using .21 cu nitro motors on the 125 foot back straight. We could top out at 80-82mph at around 200 feet of space using a radar gun. We ran 60 mph in the dirt racing so that speed isn't a big deal to me, and this back in 2000 or so. I wish Electric was that fast back then because I would still be racing now. Nitro is very costly ( $120 to rebuild the Novarossi motor every 2 races, $130-$200 for the .21 depending on brand )
batsonelec C yeah it was in 2000, I didn’t know they made a 2hp novarossi with mounts that fit? Mine was a .15 1 hp with the purple head. I forgot the brand but I don’t think it was a novarossi that most people had with the red or blue head, remember those, SO common. Those went about 45mph I believe. I got out of the “sport” of R/C when I was about 19, moved on to actual cars since either way it’s very costly and I can be IN the thing I’m spending money on rather then just a little “toy”. We had to paint our own shells too, remember? Buying clear bodies and using tape and an exacto knife to carefully make the windows, then primer the thing and lightly add your coats or spray paint, don’t put to much though of the whole thing was ruined.. haha that sucked!

upgrade motor and pinion and ese you can hit 100mph or more depending on setup also test with foam tires.

Wow. I remember when I got my v1 and the first time feeling that speed. Then, when I installed the bigger pinion. It was a very "changing" experience. I hope it doesn't do you guys like it did myself and my wife, in that, it made the rest of our older cars obsolete and feel extremely sluggish..
On a side not, you all are comical! I personally enjoy the more banter based channels like your and the Petrenic(probably spelled wrong) brother's, versus the scripted stuff. Much more relatable and personable..

There are many who think Arrma could hit us with a +100 MPH Version of this or the Limitless. There are plenty of Home Brew ones floating around out there for both. I'm counting my Pennies. I'll go to our store Hobby Haven in Des Moines and throw my money at them and get this beast. I love it. Careful with the Hoons lots of pushers have just destroyed them. Always enjoy you 2. Young and having so much fun with our hobby. What better way to be together and connect.

You should note the low battery notification only works with Spektrum lipos!
You two reminded me of little kids squeezing the throttle the first time of a RC vehicle and smiling from ear to ear. I did the same thing when I seen my brother’s Infraction run the first time. Very cool video! Be careful while drifting. I heard the average tire life is about 4-5 runs if you’re drifting/bashing. One last cool tip: Another RUclipsr took his blown out/worn out tires and used PVC pipe as tires so he could just drift. I think he bought about 8 inches of PVC, cut them to proper width of the Hoons, slipped them on, glued them, and when the glue dried he was drifting like crazy. Thank you for your showing us your first run and impressions of the Infraction.
Its yals truck,so you're free to do whatever with it, but I'm pretty sure it's not a good basher or even closely related too bashing. I would be afraid it would ruin the truck. Only way I see bashing probably would be a higher stance and larger tires. Just my thoughts...
i wish they made a 1/10 scale version with same radio equipment.. one that takes a 3000 4s would be perfect... very cool looking truck

I do love the new features with the Transmitter, body, and handbrake ! Your also rite in saying that there’s been many other vids of speed runs with the infraction, but I think you guys just might be the 1st ones doing it with the V2 Infraction !! Good vid ! Stay and Play Safe !! 👍✌️

IIRC, it has a 150A ESC. The Deans connectors are rated for “only” 60A. Unless the heat sink fan only runs at higher temperatures, I would think the ESC thermals would be quite reasonable when the max continuous load is limited to 40% of its rating. The Deans connectors, on the other hand... 🔥😱
I like your idea though! If Nate and Abby have an infrared thermometer, it would be interesting to know how warm the electronics get during hard runs. 👍

They didn't just get released! Just the V2 just got released! However you will love running it! Don't think a hand brake will make much difference! But love the upgrades they have done! Newer asphalt works best! Love the video! 👍👍😎👽🤙

I can totally see your reasoning, the felony looks AMAZING. However, I think the Infraction is a better choice. It comes with a handbrake preinstalled (like they said). The felony also has different sized wheels and therefore different gearing between the front and back. Other than that, they’re pretty much the same, but it’s up to you and you should choose what you want most!
So much adrenaline driving something light at that I reckon and it really shows how awesome!
Gotta go into the ESC settings and up the braking power.
I think stock is like 37.5 % or maybe 50% if you're lucky.
I'm thinking about buying 1 of these for my family. Well for my son.. well really for me but he can definitely drive it but its really for "US" not my daughters

OKAY, who gave this thumbs down!? I wasn't driving, but I even got excited and nervous. I agree - change that gear quickly! I would be soo excited if I had this, I'd change the gear and I wouldn't wait, even if it was late, I'd turn my truck lights on, get my Coleman lantern and still run it!

I'm running the Dboots on my traxxas XO-1. It makes the car more stable at high speed but the corner speed is reduced

Forgive the timing of this message because I'm about to address a concern you brought up a year ago, when you basically quit reviewing toy/hobby hybrid drones, I just found a relatively cheap drone that at least in my experience, does EVERYTHING IT CLAIMS! ITS THE SG700-D. I bought it a year ago and 1 rotor seemed to not be working, and I put it on the "healing bench"and forgot about it for 10 months. Since then I've had 3 Yuunec Breeze 4k commit hari-kari in rapid succession, then a huge but underpowered Serene Life rebranded predator FPV from Amazon went walkabout in a strong wind, never to return, so I revisited the SG700-D & it turns out it simply needed to be recalibrated! This thing is GREAT! without camera I get 12 minute flight times on a 1s 1000w (actually a 2p) battery, it isn't super fast but is strong and handles wind well, it will hover in place very well via "optical flow" provided frequent recalibration which is very simple, and a decent 4k capable camera who is far steadier on 720p setting, and it's $40! I'm a recent convert to your channel, and I've been watching your older footage which is why I'm bringing this up now. your ever polite and civil but obviously angry video you produced about not reviewing low price drones anymore I just thought you should know there are a couple gems out there! Thank you both for this channel,I'm now into planes and the character of my hangar has much to do with your input, as a matter of fact the only plane that I have that you haven't reviewed and given a thumbs up is the Rage-RC Vintage Stick, but otherwise I began with the Sport Cub S, followed by the UMX Turbo Timber, then the stick, and the Cessna F949 (ordered in June and still waiting! China shipments slowed by Donnie's interference & Covid) and next week the UMX Radian, so thank you for your invaluable input and horizon hobby owes you a huge commission on sales to me!
