I LOVE the title of this film. "The Giant Behemoth". Exactly how many diminutive behemoths had the filmmakers come across in their travels?
Getting this movie on DVD today!😱🦖🌁
this movies needs a reboot on this time
Using stop motion photography is still the best way to go, CGI just doesn't have the same personal touch as Harry Houshen did with his creations. But a reboot would still be appreciated.
Definitely yes
Give this monster a place in the Monsterverse
Well, I wouldn’t call that a reboot, but I’m making a short film parody of it.
@Aiden Andrews CGI is good but with the old style special effects the movies were better and didn't depend on the special effects like today. The horror movies of the past didn't depend on gore like the present day movies, that is why I prefer the movies of the distant past - 60 to 90 years ago.
Love the car-crushing at 1:40. CRUNCH!
Amusing trailer. Hard to believe they thought this was scary.
They probably didn't find it as scary as you think, you can see the finger prints on the model quite easily
I was born the year this was released - the first two movies to ever scare me half to death was this one and the original War Of The Worlds 😁
A British version of The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.
Exactly
this terrifying beast made retro monster flicks the very BEST!!
channel 9 brought me here. I LOVE the 'HORROR HORNS '. LOL
I just love the way they show all the good scenes in the trailer. Why bother to go see the movie?
Until just now, I hadn't seen so much as a frame of this picture.
I am buying up some of my favorite older monster/horror/science fiction movies on DVD and/or Blu-ray. Naturally; this is one that I acquired.
Love it!
This thing needs an remake
I love this movie!,when is the blu Ray comeing out?
Same this is my 3rd favorite monster movie from the 50s right behind The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and my favorite monster movie from the 50s Gojira
Parker Pshebnisky this month
Available in Blu Ray now from Warner Archives
Imagine if a crossover film between this kaiju( giant behemoth) and the Rhedosaurus from the beast from 20,000 fathoms was made.
it Could Be Called "The Behemoth and Beast from 20,000 Fathoms"
@@TheOfficeandGummiBearsFan true
Where's Godzilla when you need him?
Actually come to think of it, it would be awesome if Godzilla fought this thing in a crossover film. Seriously think of it, Godzilla vs The Giant Behemoth, That would be ingenious!
Lol
hmm....it was 1959 so he was still frozen in ice after fighting Anguirus in Godzilla Raids Again. Then he'd be thawed out later by accident from a U.S. submarine to fight King Kong in 1962
@@budgiecat9039 dude Godzilla was in 1954!!!!!!
And...yea...
"Balloonga vs. Paleosaurus"
Goku would eat him!!
That's an uncommonly big Behemoth as far as Behemoth's go.
Giant Behemoth 🦕
The comedy sound effects.. 😂😂
Isle Of Wight Alternative Attractions Not supposed to sound comedic...but OK 🙄
Es un dinosaurios carnívoro
Godzilla meets Mr Chumley Warner !
Should that be Cholmondeley-Warner?
Giant behemoth looks like brachiosaurus dino
Shows giant monster
*puts big titles over the monster so you can’t see what it’s doing*
And the Oscar for Best Special Effects goes to...
Leonardo DaVinci, wait waaaaa...
Deebo Molina Willis O Brian. The same stop motion artist who worked on King Kong, The Black Scorpion, and who inspired Ray Harryhausen.
It's not bad for the time. It's not great, like, say, "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms", but it's way better than something like "The Land Unknown", effects-wise
Hey they should make fun of this Giant Monster Movie 🎥 on MST3K episode on Netflix
I want to see him in a monsterverse
How will it work though since the Monsterverse already has a monster named Behemoth and it's a cross between and Mammoth and a Sloth
This was the first “scary” movie I ever watched 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Se parece mucho a nessie
Rhedosarus be like when has a teen:
Never heard of the Bri’ish Goijra 😂 This is hilarious!
This is what happened when Ray Harryhausen was on vacation ^^
I wouldn't run for a cgi like that.
it's Not CGI. it's Stop Motion!
Was Godzilla out sick the day they made this one ?
Hey gidi günler hey nerde plastikler nerde efektliler 😂😂
Fun fact: the behemoth from the Bible is literally based on an elephant, not a dinosaur just like this on in the movie.
Fun fact: Elephants do not have tails like cedars.
This is based off titanosauridea, which were sauropods, by far the largest animals on land ever. Some titanosaurs may have been as big as the animal on these scenes though sizes on the film vary, they are not consistent [building replicas are inconsistent].
Titanosauridea, like elephants, were herbivores so there's that.
@@DRYeisleysCreations they literally do. The cedar trees of the middle eastern region look nothing like the cedars of California or Australia. The behemoth of the Bible is literally an elephant.
@@TerraStory225MYA Behemoths are dinosaurs. You cannot change my mind.
@@DRYeisleysCreations That's really sad that you cannot accept evidence and reason. Look, I'm not here to be argumentative. I'm simply saying that the Bible never says that the elephant's tail looks like a cedar tree. It says it Sways like one, meaning its movement resembles the swaying of a Lebanese cedar, not a North American Cedar which Job wouldn't have even known about because he lived in Bronze Age Lebanon or thereabouts. Sauropod tails couldn't sway like an elephants tail does. Like literally couldn't. Also Sauropods didn't live in those times. You can still be religious and accept evidence, many christians understand that dinosaurs and man did not live together, unless you mean birds, which are dinosaurs. Evidence should be able to change anyone's mind. Refusal to believe evidence isn't intelligence, it's just arrogance.
lol is that thing using mind powers to blow up helicopters wtf
Can't belive that people at that time took this thing seriously
That's because you've been digitally computerized with the CGI filled films of today.
It DID look like a rip-off of '20,000 feet'!
But it was directed by the same guy who did The beast from 20000 fathoms, unless you are implying that he's ripping himself...
I remember this movie on TV in the 1970s. I didn't know the Godzilla movies at that time, but this is a straight British rip-off of the Japanese classics. Good fun, though. I always loved Andre Morell's suave English accent. Behemoth is Hebrew, plural of Behem, meaning Beast.
The director of this film is Eugène Lourié who was also the person behind The Beast From 20.000 Fathoms which was a big source of inspiration for the original Godzilla. In fact, probably Godzilla would've been considered a Japanese rip-off of The Beast if not for Ishirō Honda's creative approach with focus on commentary on WMD's, victims of nuclear bombings and post-war situation of Japan.
Basically, it's Lourié repeating himself. Also the paleosaurus from this film looks extremely similar to the rhedosaurus from The Beast.
@@MrSomebodyStrange Because the Studio told him to make a near Carbon Copy of Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.
Godzilla rip-off
What a clown you are, don't even know the movie named "The Beast from 20000 Fathoms" ?
IT'S NOT A RIP-OFF!
