Story behind the music and the video:
We get asked all the time, 'How do you like touring?' We love it. We especially love meeting the people who have been listening, sharing, and supporting our music. We are so grateful for the opportunities we have, thanks to you. But as we travel along with our equipment, checked luggage, cellos, and carry-on bags we carry a feeling that never gets checked away. We miss our family. We miss home. When we first heard Phillip Phillips' "Home" we couldn't help but be emotionally drawn to it.
We started arranging this tune by slowing it way down...then speeding it way up...then splitting the difference until it laid into just the right tempo. Once we had the right feel it flowed. Jon's piano licks especially shined in this arrangement -- lending the energy we needed to portray the feeling of heading home after a long journey. The lyrical, placid cello melodies represent a fatigued serenity. The last chorus is the sound of what we feel when we see our families after a long tour -- the familiar smells, the familiar smiles, and the incomparable feeling of belonging...click here to read the rest of story thepianoguys.c...
We want to thank Breck Dockstader, his family, and the Cliff Rose Lodge for helping us with the locations of this video. Breck hung out with us the entire time ensuring we had everything we needed - he helped move the piano, offered location options, and even let us stay in his family's lodge. We'd like to dedicate this video to his father Dale Dockstader, whom we consider a very special "fan" and whom we all felt was enjoying the video shoot with us, but from the best vantage point of all.

I found one of there songs about 2months ago. And have not stopped playing since.. I'm a 34 year old male who's always played hiphop and dance music. Since finding these guys. My whole world has changed and I have found peace and my calm happy place.

I have been stressed lately, but their music is beautiful and has a wonderful calming effect. I hope one day I can meet them and let them know how amazing they are. The Piano Guys (including the behind the scene guys) always seem so positive and happy. They are an inspiration to all.
The beginning of this took me by surprise and instantly made me cry. "Going Home" was the song sung at my grandfather's funeral. I will never forget my cousin singing that. I cry every time I hear it. So beautiful. Thank you!

At first, when I started listening to you guys, I was like oh, they're doing songs I've heard before. They're redoing other people's stuff. Then I heard this and a few others and my responding thought was, this isn't a redo of anything. This is completely their own and stellarly beautiful. It shines a million times brighter than the moon and the stars. Pure Genius and Pure Beauty. You remind of us of our happiest memories and all of the good things we have in life. The scenery is southern Utah, just outside Zion NP. I love how these guys not only play the song, but play with the tempo and such to get you thinking of the narrative and emotion..

This was my dog's absolute favorite song. Whenever I played this song, my dog would get very relaxed and you could see a sparkle in his eyes. He passed away last February from sudden complications due to an illness. But even as my dog spent his last week with us at home, I still played this song to help him feel at peace. I still miss my dog, he was my best friend. This song really brings back such wonderful, joy-filled memories with him. Thank you guys for giving the gift of music to my family!

I did this cover with my music teacher at a school concert, but we adapted the cello and he instead played a flugelhorn. It was such a marvellous sound with this touching arrangement….

In fact, just over curiosity I started watching the Phillip Phillips video and it bored me to death! Even more, RUclips kept on suggesting it and I immediately had to say I'm not intersted. That is the bridge going over to Grafton, Utah - a ghost town featured in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and showing some of my most beloved scenes in So. Utah. My daughter Christy Grandjean (artist_Goldwenwolf) got married in the little church in Grafton, the first time since the 1940's that anyone had gotten married in that church. Thanks for the memories guys. I absolutely love your music and So. Utah!
