Beware the Monkey Poop! Road trip from Mandalay to Bagan

- FILMED IN FEBRUARY 2020: We flew in to Mandalay with the ultimate goal of getting to Bagan, but we were so glad we took the time to spend the night there so we could experience sunrise at U Bein Bridge and then do the fascinating and unique drive from Mandalay to Bagan. On our way our driver stopped and let us out in random spots to see the more rural areas in Myanmar. We then stopped at Mount Popa to climb the 777 steps which were quite well maintained in spite of the hundreds of monkeys pooping all over the stairs. Justin still managed to step barefoot in monkey pee though...too bad we didn't catch that on camera.
Our day trip ended at our luxurious hotel in Bagan (Ananta Bagan, not sponsored.) Most days we stay in basic hotels trying to save money so that we can splurge on a couple of days in nicer hotels like this one. Our gorgeous room service meal only cost $4 per person, so it was definitely worth ordering in that night.
This is the company we used to find a driver: www.tripadviso...

This was such a lovely/calm day considering we did a car transfer!
yippee, been waiting all day :P , month, year for another Claire video.
I live in the dry zone for four and a half years, and have been to those places hundreds of times and yet, seeing them again is so wonderful. I know that times due to the short time you guys were there you could not visit the off-the-beaten-track locations that even most locals do not know. But please do come back again soon, late January for sunrises and early November for sunsets. As you drove into Bagan in the dark you missed some of the unique-to-central-Myanmar toddy palm groves. Look forward so much to your next videos.
I love the calm, cozy feel of this video! I feel it brings out the authentic beauty of the place! It really allows me to feel like I'm there experiencing it with you and Justin.
I want to leave a comment but I don't know what to say. Thank you for these amazing videos and showing us the fabulous landscapes. I've been following you for a year, and always looking forward to your next videos. LOVE YOU GUYS!
