@@Chai_Travel I honestly highly doubt so, even if the Junta falls, it will be a never ending war between minorities, only Ang San Suu Kyi managed to unite the country. As my daughter is obviously half burmese, I really hope it will change! I want her to be able to see her country thrives, such beautiful people, such a beautiful country!
We are all safe in Singapore, but I am scared for my Burmese family (my wife's family). My daughter will ALWAYS be safe considering she also has French nationality.

there is also a song the people of Myanmar sang together back in 2021 maybe until now.
It‘s a burmese version from the Song Dust in the Wind from Kansas.
I always get goose bumps when i remember back to the beginning of the war and all the victims and when i hear the song and all the burmese people with candles standing on their balconies

They take young men, if you are a teenage boy and you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, you could be kidnapped and drafted, or sent to the front lines as a porter (carrying military supplies) or be mine-fodder.

Aloha, do be careful. Don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but the Tut Tut driver might have been a spy. My wife(wife Burmese)and I watch the driver's actions. Does not have the demeanor of a tut-tot driver. Most tut tut drivers are from the provinces. Usually, darker complexions, his hands show little hard manual work. The driver's haircut is very similar to the police/military. Something is not right about the situation. Girlfriends look to be recording conversations vs. Facebooking (Asian women obsess). By the way, I’m a psych nurse of 40 years, Gotten pretty good at reading people. Hati-Hati.

@@Chai_Travel Government eyes are everywhere. Many years ago, when Aung Suan Suu Ki was still under house arrest, I did my monk time [expected in Burmese family to do at least once in your life]. My wife's family and I (shaved head, monk gown etc) went to pray at Shwedagon Pagoda. Wandering the ground of the pagoda, I received a whole lot of attention. Was thinking I was a pretty hot shit, bald, overweight white monk, getting loads of attention and requesting to have my picture taken. Afterwards, my family explained that it was the ‘secret police’. Guess they were pretty freaked out seeing me. Wondering if I might have been a planted CIA provocateur. My family thought it was hilarious, but it just easily could have gone sideways fast. The Government doesn't mess around. Remember, these guys are trying to emulate a North Korean type of governance. They dont give a shit what the reset of the world thinks of them.

Alright let me straighten up thing normally nothing will happen when you talk about the country or anything the only thing you might look out for is if you accidentally cuss out the military coup besides that you can record anywhere anytime you can record cops but not the guys with the camo suit with guns, About the question and the spies you will rarely come across a spy in one of a large city due to alot of people walking around at night You're right about the streets not being safe but if you go to popular areas such as the supermarket its safe , You can upload any videos about the country while you're there as long as you dont reveal exactly where you stay in like a hotel

Notes about yangon it's much safer and you dont have to be careful but mandalay You'll sometimes rarely hear gunshots and some times An su-30 (Fighter jets) you dont have to worry while you're there but I'll give you a warning that the city has now an increased risk of being in the war too And another thing i forgot to tell you Don't let people catch you using an VPN because you'll be arrested because recently It has been banned due to alot of people using it to bypass the ban of facebook and instagram, twitter, telegram, messager.
