  • I take you behind the scenes of what life is really like living and working in 'war-torn' Myanmar. While many RUclipsrs visit Yangon for a few days and make dramatic videos about their "war zone" experiences, I’ve been living here working as an international teacher alongside thousands of others. From luxury charity events to the flood-affected streets, this video contrasts the realities of life here-beyond the sensational stories you might see online. I also address common misconceptions about Myanmar, from VPNs and currency exchange to military curfews. Life in Myanmar isn’t always easy, especially for locals dealing with crisis after crisis, but it’s a far cry from the extreme portrayals. I’m here to share the truth, highlight the incredible people on the ground, and explain how you can help. If you want to understand the real Myanmar and how we navigate these challenges, this video is for you.

    I can't let all they young men come here and have all the fun. They are as Edgelord as this Gen Xer ha ha ha!. Couldn't resist a hype thumbnail like they all make either! Edited to say Thank You to all the people who have supported this video and left so many comments on how things really are here in Yangon. I was just so frustrated when I saw the nonsense yet another Hype Lord RUclipsr was making up I felt pushed by something to make this video and I had no idea if I was going to be attacked. I just had to say the truth. As a small channel, it is so hard to have a voice compared to the big ones that drop in and out of here. Please also look at my playlist of the work of Jochen and Sonne so you can see all the help we try to bring to Myanmar every day to the ordinary people. I live and work here and we FEEL the people. Bless you all. We do see and care and give real help.

      Myanmar is always interesting. Im here for another year. Then I will drop back from time to time to document stories but this channel has to grow and move to reflect the true nature of my international life. So viewers will learn a lot about how much I really know about the world. And I will have working internet and freedom of speech

      Really appreciate your support. Yangon is not Lashio! I feel so terrible for people that ran from danger to Kalaw and Taungyi and lost the little they had in the floods. Terrible that some make up fake photo shop pictures and stories for clicks to profit on misery.

      Trying to get the truth out is difficult as a small account. We need teachers and ethical tourists who care and want to help. Not RUclipsrs making up stuff to make themselves look cool for clicks and $$$. Some have huge platforms that could bring aid and donations to help the people - much more aid than I am able to raise with a small account.

      Thank you so much for your support. It is hard as a small channel to get the truth out. Yangon is not Lashio for example! So many teachers here just living our lives and trying to help give the children of Myanmar a chance at and education and a way out. Or many of us also doing charity work. So easy to help and bring joy and hope so why not do it???

    As for someone who lives in North Shan state I am almost envious of a big city like Yangon ,Mandalay and Naypyitaw . Except for the inflation rate, no electricity 24/7 ,at least people there could live more peacefully, enjoy life and sleep safe and sound.
    Btw ,I missed the road you were walking (Insein Rd) where I used to hang out with my friends a lot.
    That's a long road you were walking past so many bus stops.I can see almost Nothing changes.

    • @MissLizaYangonMyanmar
      @MissLizaYangonMyanmar  18 дней назад

      I was in Shan State. if you watched my channel you would know. In the north is hard now. I filmed people running from Lashio to South Shan for safety. And then the floods came. Truly horrible. Life is easier in Yangon for sure. And the privileged have power 25/7 thanks to generators and inverters in their homes and condos. But yes even in the rain and dark the ordinary people can sleep sound here without the worries of North Shan State. We will continue to work for you and send aid and do what we can to help. There are people here local and foreign who care a lot and send more than just 'thoughts and prayers. Thank you for writing as I know how much you all suffer through up there.

      School provides as part of my package. I live in a fancy condo with 24/7 power, gym pool etc. All standard for licenced and qualified teachers package. But if you jump on FaceBook you can see in Foreign Teachers of Yangon group they go into details about that stuff. Can vary widely as everyone has a different budget and circumstances.

    • @MissLizaYangonMyanmar
      @MissLizaYangonMyanmar  18 дней назад

      Lots of English teachers and schools in Myanmar. I am sure they can help you. Good luck! FYI I am NOT and English Teacher. I am just a boring normal teacher like you have in your normal schools here. I am licenced and qualified and I also have IB certificates so I teach in IB schools all around the world. We just use English as the language of instruction as we all speak different languages! So to go to an IB school you have to be an English speaker but it doesn't matter what language you use at home ;-).
