No offence, but if he's a narcissist or toxic, he ain't care. If he comes back, not because he misses you or has changed or regret losing you, but to feed his ego or validation. Don't ever take them back! Lesson learned

If someone really misses someone, comes back, try to prove that they have changed, they get viewed as desperate and weak and it only fills the ego of the person that gets chased. Lot of people genuine did the work, want things to work out and change for the better, but the other person made they’re mind up long ago. This is very true. When he broke up with me I completed stopped all contacts. Never tried to get his attention in any way. It’s less than 3 months and he is the one trying all kind of ways to get my attention. It’s actually very funny because I realized how much silence can do to someone. After all.that time I reached out and we hooked up a couple times and then she faded away and I moved out of town anyway

I am 69 years old and was married for 40 years to a narc. This is the second breakup for us. I went back the first time because he said we could work it out. I just got so tired of the way he treated me. He was giving me the silent treatment and i said to myself this is enough. I hired an attorney and divorced him. I took half of everything. He tried to turn it around like he was done with me. I didn't care what he said or did. I am now divorced and living onmy own. I have not seen him ortalked to him in 8 months. Honestly i did lose my way. I slowly started to ignore my college education. She broke up with me the same way you discribed. Ive used this time to get back on track, turns out once i finally acceped the reality and started moving foreward and focusing on myself, i ended up not needing to take any more classes because i earned my degree. it's taken me about 5 months to get to this position of near indifference. Not entirely. But the energy shift feels real. My ex has always been contacting me though but it doesn't lead to anything substantial. I'm now fine going days without interacting and don't panic when we talk anymore. If anything I'm able to tease him and not give into anything I think he would want.

Almost 7 months no contact... I don't event think I cross her mind anymore.. so she won't reach out. NC is for you to move on. It might be hard to hear if you're in the early stages of the breakup, but dumpers moved on way before leaving the relationship. They are monthsss ahead of you in the healing process and despite what you can hear/read on the web, they don't come back very often. In rare cases they do and it's to breadcrumb you for sex or validation or to alleviate their guilt. Also, women have SO MANY OPTIONS, it's not even funny. They can rebound with whoever as long as they're average looking. They left for a reason. My ex left, came back, left, came back....she comes back after her other "options", have run their course(s).....I used to see her car parked outside the dude's house every Saturday Sunday for months.....she'd take a break from him, then start back up with him...I can go on and on....she came back this passed November and December, bought Xmas gifts, slept together, I stayed the night on WORK nights, her idea that I went to work from HER house etc etc. Then outta the blue, once again, she cooked up an argument/disagreement, next thing, I know, here we are, and all over a sudden, she met a new guy at church, had him at her family's easter gathering. My Ex is calling. Ive broken no contact by ignoring the initial call and calling back days later only to hear the same topics which show there is nothing new to discuss and this stirs up in me a strength to push further away because hes showing nothing next level. it's taken me about 5 months to get to this position of near indifference. Not entirely. But the energy shift feels real. My ex has always been contacting me though but it doesn't lead to anything substantial. I'm now fine going days without interacting and don't panic when we talk anymore. If anything I'm able to tease him and not give into anything I think he would want.

About 2 weeks NC, and to make sure I stay that way My Friend and I have a Bet going. And gotta say it’s been really helpful on both moving on, and not breaking NC. But the day after I started NC and I called out what she did,she made a post saying “I am so much happier without you” (she was blocked btw) hope I don’t owe him concert tickets.

I showed my ex how happy I am after our breakup and how my life is better without him. I also wished him good luck to him and the girl he suddenly has a crush on and gave him dating advice since he hadn't told her about his feelings. At our last meeting, which was going to be a farewell talk I was just radiating happy energies and wasn't even close to tears. It's true happiness, no games. Could he be changing his mind/ getting confused about his feelings now that I have an energy that draws people in? I'm done with him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly gets in touch. I asked her in a positive way to meet up as friends to tell each other’s news and she replied i’ll see and i’ll let u know. It’s been 5 days since she said that. Idk what that means but i’m pretty sure she is unsure of her decision dumping me. I really want to show her how i am willing to better myself and fix past mistakes and insecurities i had. Almost 7 months no contact... I don't event think I cross her mind anymore.. so she won't reach out. NC is for you to move on. It might be hard to hear if you're in the early stages of the breakup, but dumpers moved on way before leaving the relationship. They are monthsss ahead of you in the healing process and despite what you can hear/read on the web, they don't come back very often. In rare cases they do and it's to breadcrumb you for sex or validation or to alleviate their guilt. Also, women have SO MANY OPTIONS, it's not even funny. They can rebound with whoever as long as they're average looking. They left for a reason. If you sold a house coz you didn't like it anymore, would you go back to it even if you haven't really find better yet? Fuck no. I think the same applies for relationships. I would love to hear for someone (guys) who had their ex gf come back and are back together now, but I dont think it really exists. JUst my opinion tho. TIred of reading countless articles on NC and how it will bring your ex back when in reality, the article should lead with "how to move on from someone who already did". My ex left, came back, left, came back....she comes back after her other "options", have run their course(s).....I used to see her car parked outside the dude's house every Saturday Sunday for months.....she'd take a break from him, then start back up with him...I can go on and on....she came back this passed November and December, bought Xmas gifts, slept together, I stayed the night on WORK nights, her idea that I went to work from HER house etc etc. Then outta the blue, once again, she cooked up an argument/disagreement, next thing, I know, here we are, and all over a sudden, she met a new guy at church, had him at her family's easter gathering. All of this within 3 months.....oh wait, did I forget to mention that I'm blocked once again? Was told "why don't u just KILL yourself?!", threats of a "restraining order", etc etc etc
