Ashley certainly has some disadvantages as a deaf MX racer but shifting is not one of them. Most MX riders shift based on "feeling" the bike rather than how it sounds because often times in a race it's hard to hear your bike because of all the other bikes around you. You can feel the torque when you give it gas and based on the response immediately know if you need to shift up or down. Plus you learn real quick to know what gears to ride in just based on what's in front of you :)

+dino battles Riders who ride and race with faster riders, get faster in order to improve. Racers at the top of their sport, and Ashley was no doubt at the top of hers, have nothing to push them to go faster. And I have observed, I believe, a tendency towards needlessly humiliating an opponent by badly defeating them that is absent in male competitors. If a racer has the stuff champions are made of, and are put into the company of faster competitors they find a way to catch and surpass those better than themselves. If put into the all male top divisions of motocross,I am certain this girl would improve greatly and have nothing to be embarrassed about after it was done. And being female would have a harder path to follow. In the world ofAMA MX and SX, all rookies are the target of incidents designed to intimidate and destroy the self confidence of the new guy, to keep them down so to speak. I can only guess how severe it would be for a woman, particularly one totally deaf and unable to hear a rider coming in on her in a take out move!

i know, you won't believe how many motocross girl crash videos there are, or motocross woman fail, they think we are jokes, and that really needs to stop, it's no wonder why i'm a feminist, laughing at us does not help, saying we can't do sports or motocross is just going to make things unequal and it's just sad, we live in 2020 and this crap is still going on. this girl here is amazing.
